Too many people used plastic cups at a cafe and of course that defenitely harms the globe. so there was a new policy set that you can drink in a plastic cup only when the drink is for to go, and when you stay in a cafe you have to have your coffee in a mug. and If the cafe doesnt follow the policy they will get fine. that is why. I hope you dont feel offended by and chance. I feel relieved to hear the person working there asked you to pour your coffee into a mug instead of impolitely kicking lol^^.

Good to see you guys walking around in Korea. I left a message about Seoul transportation once. Once you are in Korea, please try “dakgalbi or Dakgalbi with cheese” which most of foreigners like. Dakgalbi is really made by chicken and it is marinated on the hot plate. This food is quite traditional one and I am sure you guys like it. Any place will be good and you can type “dakgalbi” and find the one nearest to your hotel. If you want to enjoy and feel the atmosphere of youth, please find sungsu-dong (= part of Seoul city) and daelimchanggo Gallery. If you find this, you will find lots of fun place near by. This is hottest spot for youngsters in Seoul, not Tripadvisor is recommending

Daegu is known to be very hot in Korea and is regarded as ‘Daefrica’ by locals in the summer. Also try the jjim-galbi (short braised beef ribs) in Daegu as it is absolutely lush. If you ever visit Korea again, get in touch and I’ll be sure to help. I’m relocating there next month and used to live in Korea for three years in the early 2000s. I’m definitely gonna make some more content about Korea once I move there as it has so much to offer in the lesser known areas, off the beaten track. But recently, the Seoul Metropolitan Government decided to build a memorial art museum on the land and is now opening it to citizens until construction begins.

Even though it is about 62% of land is mountains now, land in S. Korea used to be 75% mountains. No wonder you see mountains everywhere. 😉 50 million people live in the land that is size of 25% of California so that cities are very populated and buildings tend to go up. It's single menu but it is consisted of both rice and a variety of Banchan (side dishes ) so the couple was able to try many Korean home style Banchan there with a unbelievably reasonable price of less than 7 bucks each.

If you are still in Korea, I suggest you try Korean Chinese food. It's a very popular in Korea that most foreigners don't know about, so they don't try it. The two main dishes that people have a hard time deciding between are jjajangmyun (black bean sauce noodles) and jampong (a spicy seafood noodle soup). The third most common item is tangsuyuk (which Americans probably know more as sweet and sour pork). The other dishes to try are rajogi (chicken). kkanpungi saewoo (spicy battered shrimp) and ulmyeon (noodles in like egg drop soup). Even though it's Korean Chinese, in cities like New York, the restaurants are generally listed as Chinese food. Ask around for a good restaurant that the locals like. The ones designed for tourists aren't that good and much pricier. I don't know how inflation has impacted the prices, but a couple of years ago, you could have gotten generally get each dish for under $8 on the low end and $10 on the high end. The tourist places will charge double or more that amount. Also, you must try the fried dumplings. As I' commented in a previous video, Koreans like chewy food, so the wrapper will most likely be chewier than the wontons in the states.
