For cold noodles, need to cut noodles first and mix it up all together, then much more delicious, if too spicy, please add some water. Hope you try next time :)
Scissors are commonly used in Korea to cut food (meat, noodles, kimchi, etc.). Don't be afraid to try it. You will find it very convenient and efficient.
Glad to see you guys enjoying Seoul. Seoul is a beautiful city and also very safe. Northern part of Seoul is more of a traditional area and down below south is a bit more modern. Enjoy!
Props to you guys; those noodles are hard to eat without cutting them! The area that restaurant is in is called Insadong. It's a very traditional, albeit rather touristy, neighborhood.
In the past, there was a saying that eating long noodles will lead to a long life, but these days, it is inconvenient to eat, so most people cut it and eat it.
2:35 the floors and the culums were built for the addressing of Kings in ChoSun Dynasty to spread King's voice well around the palace to the people sitting on the floor listening up in 15c.
i recently visited Korea and I miss it. I love seeing you guys going to places I visited. Seoul so busy with so many ppl but certain part there are beautiful parks and mountains to hike. Please visit National Museum of Korea. It's huge alot of things to see and outside has garden and its connected to park as well. If you guys are thinking about going to Busan, visit Haedong Yonggungsa Temple. Beautiful view. I don't know about taking bus to temple tho it was way too many ppl taking it. lol
We are so happy you can relive your trip a little through our videos! Thank you for all those wonderful recommendations :) we were reading about that temple as well but it did seem a little difficult to get to!
The sissor is for to cut the cold noodle. Once you cut into 4 cross section, you need to mix it up with sauce which will losen up the cold noodle and noodle will flavor with the sauce.
i recommend to go to mountain in seoul..there re 4-5mountains in seoul. u can trail 4-7 hours in a mountain.and u can reach moutain by bus or subway easily. after climbing mountain. u eat pageon and makgeoli and return home, showering and sleeping..that gives u best deep sleep
It is easy to see all the negatives in your own country, we do that with our home country as well. We are glad to give you a fresh perspective on it :) thanks so much for watching friend!
Thank you for visiting Korea. Cold noodles are what Koreans eat a lot in summer. Bibim naengmyeon is spicy. The reason why the noodles are chewy is because they are made with only sweet potato starch. Scissors are used to cut and eat long noodles. I hope you have a pleasant and happy trip to Korea.
Thanks for your nice videos about Seoul. If you like mountains, there are so many trail accesses to the mountains around Seoul from the city. I recommend the Seoul N tower on the namsan mountain.
Scissors are available at all Korean restaurants for cutting everything from noodles to pancakes to bbq meat. I recommend you try jeon (Korean pancakes) with makgeolli, fried chicken and beer, pork belly, seafood, the list goes on. Korea has a great culinary landscape. Shame on your Korean friend for not introducing you to Korean cuisine sooner.
I love your videos, your vibe and your sincere appreciation for Korean culture. Seoul is amazing. Also hope you're able to make it to Busan. It's lovely.
Yes the scissor is for cutting the neng myun noodle. I guess it's an acquired taste because most people aren't used to cold noodles, but it's one of the more popular dishes in SK, especially in the summer time.
Naengmyeon is a unique Korean noodle dish that you eat in summer, which means cold noodles, and You guys are eating the wrong way.Usually, Cold noodles are eaten put meat broth in naengmyeon. or mixed well. You had to ask the waiter how to eat..The reason they gave you scissors is because cold noodles are cold and tough noodles, so you have to cut it three or four times with scissors.
I subscribe your channel because of your Korean tour. I was born in Seoul and raised in Seattle and I miss food and people. As you noticed they are super nice and thoughtful I have cancer and doing chemo and radiation so I can’t get outside but one day I would love to travel all over the world like you guys . Be safe and stay healthy I pray for your happiness. 😊
We are so happy you enjoy our Korea videos!! We were in Seattle a little bit ago too and it was great! We will be sending prayers and love your way as you go through chemo. We hope you will be able to travel soon, even if it is just a little trip ♥️
I'm just bookmarking 10k subs here. Because I know this channel is going to blow up and I'm going to look back and know I was right 😉. These guys are awesome!
I love your attitude of wonder and discovery! My mind is so blown that you never had even tried kimchi before going to Korea but that's an amazing first experience. Korean food is only recently becoming more known in the states, it's very strange to the typical American palette but it's so healthy and delicious.
That is very spicy noodle. Sometimes i can't even finish eating that. I recommend korean sweet beef rib. It's called "Galbi Jim" i guarantee you won't be disappointed. Make sure you order non spicy beef rib.
Your suppose to mix the noodles before you eat it and yes scissor is to cut the noodles. Try Korean street food called Hodukk…round sweet syrup pancake.
The thing looks like photato is actually radish. That's radish kimchi. Scissors are food scissors. In Korea, we have food scissors to cut food. You need to cut the cold noodle with scissors and mix them together and eat them. ^^ Welcome to Korea, even though I live in SG now.
Every country has their own history and some sort of heritigies and dignities for themselves, but you guys from America, you'll be able to feel and aware of older, greater history and heritagies of other people of countries like Korea than America... No need to think or try to study, but just feel it and imagine how the other people have lived so far on how well and in what circumstances, so on... Have fun and times for thinking...

Not just pure water but meatyish broth. Pour water and you will ruin it.

As for your comment about residents building businesses in their homes, many people in the U.S. did that, even as little back as 40 years ago in the cities. The cold noodles is sort of an acquired taste, I used to find it hard to eat but I'm a fan now.
