I love seeing these guys just sitting together, Crowe upright and attentive, Denzel lounging back but just as focussed. Two very different types of cool.
@@lhuffproductions152 I think I actually prefer the Theatrical Cut of the film. You can sense Crowe's character closing in on Denzel much faster than in the Extended Cut.
Those 2 sitting in the interview room is right on par with Pacino and DeNiro in Heat meeting in the coffee shop for the first time. Fucking amazing scenes.
Russell and Denzel are Hollywood Legends! That scene between them toward the end. When Frank told Richie, rather you put me away or not. It's not going to make the streets any safer. And Richie mentioned the parents of the dead kids who overdosed on his product. Powerful!
Washington and Crowe just rapping...love it :) Should do more interviews like this where the actors can talk to each other about the movie instead of some dummy interviewer
I love how they get so bored with the interviewer that they start asking their own questions and basically but graciously taking over the interview. Excellent actors!
CLASSIC! When was the last time we saw 2 GREAT actors go head-to-head and tor-to-toe? Good guy vs. Bad guy and we're rooting for both. I think since Pacino & De Niro in "Heat".
I love Daniel Day Lewis but he don't work enough for me to rate him as the best. Plus he puts so much effort into roles and takes them so seriously that I would expect nothing less then a brilliant performance after all that methodical preparation. The great thing about Denzel, Crow and Leo is that they are in so many movies and are always good. The same goes for Deniro and Pacino. I Also love Christopher Walken and James woods who always have small roles but never fail to steal their scenes.
I like these two guys...You kinda thought at first that there's always competition and pride in them, but they are very professional and seems to have good chemistry together.
Wow, I always hesitate in familiarizing myself with actors I like beyond their films because I am always disappointed with who they really are as people. Not this time. My two most favorite actors are intelligent, articulate, interesting, professional, humble, kind and fascinating. This was a pleasure. Thank you.
(mrhapa) u know, I have to agree with you, I never had a chance to meet him before this project, and I suspected that he would be an asshole from the way he was portrayed in the news. But he was just the opposite, more than willing to stop and talk to the cameras, and he was real genuine. Really a nice guy from all I can tell, you can not believe the picture the media paints, so who knows maybe Brittney is sane. Probably not...but still, u get my point.
i just seen the movie for the first time n it was cool how they kinda became friends at the end when he was given up all the crooks, movie had a great ending to say it was such a violent serious movie
the guy that denzel is screaming on thats cleaning the floor is my boy "royce" he lives in my building. congratulations royce your on your way. your in a instant classic.
lol the funniest part of this vid 4:50 + christ you would think that such brilliant actors totally trained and immersed in their respective part would have sat down to lunch and discussed these questions at some point prior to this interview (or at least prior to filming)
i'm just sayin, seein as this was a multi-million dollar film production... anyway, respect to denzel and russell as 2 of the finest actors in the industry.......
@piof actually Denzel was nominated in '99 for Hurricane. He lost to Kevin Spacey for American Beauty. You can argue he should have won that year, although Spacey did a great job. Crowe as nominated in '99 too, but for The Insider. Crowe won for Gladiator in '00. Denzel did beat Crowe in '01, you're right about that part.
well that's what was goin on. drugs and drug dealing was very prominent in harlem at the time frank lucas was notorious. denzel understood that. and denzel has even turned down roles that only depict black culture as the bad things they say about blacks,or roles that are just plainly ultimately stereotypical.
i saw the movie on tv, and i saw it b4 on dvd, the tv version is not complete at all, on the tv version the movie ends when FL got out of jail and that was all, on the dvd version he walks on the streets and some wannabee g's stay looking at him and they r like 'what u lookin at?
Frank Lucas didn't believe in anything, but Frank Lucas. Frank Lucas betrayed his brothers, his Mother, his wife. He dishonored the men who fought and died in Vietnam, especially the men whose caskets he used to transport the poison that killed so many people of his own race. He was also a master at the art of sophistry; not only making a lie plausible, but digestible. Ridley Scott took it a step further and made it profitable. Before you heap praise on Frank Lucas, consider what he really is.
no he didnt. i thought he said at first that he would snitch on the other gangsters because he didnt care about them. because he was chocked when richie said that he wanted the cops to.
No he's not a sociopath, he's one of the most successful and highest paid actors in history. He has achieved far more than you can ever hope to achieve.
I think he is just a bit stand offish sometimes as a defense mechanism he knows how the press can distort things make them something they are not. I've heard him tell them off say things like none of your business etc. He smiles that million dollar smile at them when he does it but his smile can be very warm or very cold depending on what his eyes are doing at the time the look he gives you as he smiles. I've seen Tom Cruise be like that with press too just surface friendly smiling but looking like he wants them gone at the same time.
Russell, you are the only one for me. All the others can have Brad Pitt and George Clooney, we know who the TRUE sexiest man alive is! Big. Beefy. Brainy. Beautiful. Man.
Theres alot of uneasy tension between these two actors. I wonder if they made a deal to come into the interview as their characters? LOL But seriously, both of them give off signals they are threatened by the other, more so on Denzel's part if you look at his body language too. I guess theyll call it a healthy respect of each others work!
harry -actually u sound like a 14 yr old who doesnt know much. your imagination of dead hookers with a man that has no need for hookers is funny. but hey, u r 14, u still have a chance to wise up. stay in school.

russell crowe seems very down to earth, cool guy, not what i expected actually
Incredible performances and movie❤❤
Great interview, great actors! Russel's voice.....:))
Both great actors
This should have been Denzel's 3rd Oscar ! He's the best actor ever. And Russell has a deep voice, so good for a horror movie :)
That was a great film. They were both sublime in it.
one of the greatest movies of all time...
perfectly cast
Too right, both of them seem so real in every character they portray.
Where is Russell Crowe he is a very very brilliant and underrated actor.

I loved this MOVIE !!
Russell Crowe and Daniel Day Lewis are the best actors in the last 15 years
I like denzel's interview better hahah. They should've just told the interviewer she could leave lol.
rusell crove is very good actor, i enjoyed his performance as Jeffrey Wigand, in The Insider, and denzel washington is good as well

Denzel is right. It is like 2 movies about 2 very different men.
Am I tripping or is Russell wearing a Rabbitohs jacket 😂
