    • @doviss3970
      @doviss3970 Год назад

      Bullshit, Daniel Day-Lewis is, your opinion is probably based solely on this movie alone. Denzel won the best acting Oscar for this film and rightly so, Day-Lewis has three for films you probably haven't even seen Opinions don't make the greatest actors, nor do awards, it's the roles and characters you choose and how you portray them, it's also down to the director to get the best out of an actor, whether with direction or creative license to express and improvise. Denzel has over 50 films to his name, Day-Lewis has 21.
      Denzel is certainly one of the greatest, but he's not in the same league as Day-Lewis

    No more ink needs to be spilled about how great Denzel is in this movie, he was phenomenal. But the more I watch, the more I see how underrated Ethan Hawke was. He was the perfect understated foil to Denzel's big performance and lets Denzel shine. Scott Glenn was also great in his bit part.

What I remember is how well he was engaged with the leadership. He talked to patients, staff and donated to the hospital. Great dresser too. Denzel Washington is by far my favorite, Black actor. He's been married to the same lady for years so he has a solid foundation in his personal life and his level of commitment and talent always makes for a believable and great film. I look for HIS movies because the story line is tight and he's so convincing in his roll you forget he's acting and he pulls it off, every time. This movie really blew me away. Theres a hint of his personality disorder in the beguiling of the breakfast scene, then you think he's just a hard cop with a bit of ego, only to find out he's become a preditor like the men he hunts..Bravo
    Excellent movie
    Ethan hawk did a really good job too as a naive rookie who digs deep when courage is needed to sort right from wrong as he can't be bought nor completely intimidated.
    One of my favorite, DEEP movies...

    Antoine Fuqua created such an amazing atmosphere with this movie. Everything from the script to the lighting, images of the sun going down, deep pulsating drums on the score, just a masterpiece all the way around.
    And of course, that card game was sp well played. The only time it felt like a movie was when Dr. Dre was trying to "act", lol
    Besides that, it immerses you in this alternate universe that feels so tense and real. I rented it today on Prime just to catch up with it as it had been a few years since I last saw it.
