Denzel is such a class act and really proves it in this interview. One of my favorite movies of his was Malcolm X. He was so good, it was like seeing the real Malcolm X on the screen.
Beautiful human being negotiating, on the spot, his suspicious apprehensions, his desire to be gracious… making it through the obstacle course: he’s a wonderful person. + He loves Lenny Kravitz so he’s OK in my books. A beautiful man.
Life is never easy if you have a dream to pursue under the sun. Mr Washington just posted his scenario as a dreamer, fighter and achiever … So genuine, powerful and encouraging… Great Interview Indeed🎉.
@ Try and think of a good one…my fave. In The Hurricane, when his lawyer comes and he’s saying ‘19 years I’ve been locked up’ The way Denzel transforms in that scene is incredible, he goes from watching the lawyer though the glass, to looking straight through him like there’s nobody there. It’s absolutely genius I’ve never noticed that in any other actor before.
Yep. I grew up watching Parkinson and loving his interviews (the 2nd incarnation of his show, from the late 90s onwards). But upon reassessment now that I'm approaching 40, I realise that he was very blinkered, and arrogant at times.
Agreed. Ouch. Denzel definitely handled it well. How on earth did he become a Black, Alcoholic so and so negative actor. Wth? Completely negative towards Denzel expect at the very end only because Denzel gave him some of his wit. Denzel was picking up what the interviewer was putting down and was having none of it. Disrespect and arrogance, all right. What an uppity Brit.
@@garethm3242 Same mate. I'm English, black and 40. Grew up loving Parkinson but I wondered if someone else saw it this way. I expected better from him. Anyone would think he was looking for a clickbait headline.
I totally agree. I thought it was me that saw something wrong with Parkinson but he's like : I'll get you but in fact Denzel Washington just got him, so clever and natural he is.
Actors in real life are very different from what you'd except most of the times, I was just watching Benicio del Toro and he is not good at interviews, but Denzel always got his act together, has some interesting point to make too.
OMG, I can watch him sitting on a toilet all day long - It might be uncomfortable for him though lol - I absolutely love this man, from the time he appeared on TV - He is as close to the perfect human as we can get.
Parky's opening gambit to the great Denzel:" you can safely assume you are among friends..." is verbatim what he said to the peerless James Cagney, when the legendary star made a rare appearance on Parkinson's show in 1981...I wish that full show was uploaded to RUclips.
Prefect answers, this interviewr needs to get some class.Instesd of trying to get some dirt . Mr Washington is the real thing. Love the way Mr. Washington explained in simplicity of the racist implications and put in perspective how bad a job this interviewer did.Hats off to Mr Washington.❤
Welcome to British television. When American politics even broach anything near how things take place in the UK, Americans want to say they are not acting like professionals l. Remember, Trump was called a bully during his first presidency.
Yes , the more $ the more types of drugs and alcohol. So, yes those are in the hood but the most is in thee rich areas. Tell them what they absolutely already know. 😊
Great nuts n bolts film.of corruption and kidnap and reliability of protection and how when relationship forms then paternal .protection .bond forms .the bad guy has a child .like a pit bull from. .cradle to grave .
So he read things about Denzel that wasn’t true, yet he asked him on air without even his approval. What kinda of journalist is this guy. So many things are written about celebrities that aren’t true. That’s why you should always ask the person your interviewing about what to ask or not. Especially when it deals with their “past”. Things can get fabricated.
The movie they're talking about was released around 2003, and it's called 'Man on Fire'. I totally dont get why both English / British talk shows diss down on Denzel Washington, with their captions. Borderline racist.
Captions like that are generally click bait and I assumed this one was too. Imagine my surprise when he really did call Denzel an alcoholic. Denzel stayed classy and handled it well.
You guys misunderstand...the researchers got the alchoholism wrong... and so denzel recognized this and clarified what actually happened...but still..good click bait!
There is a parallel between his character’s alcoholism and Denzel’s own indulgence. I believe Denzel has chosen sobriety on his 60th birthday. Still, you could see the interviewer was setting Denzel up by the questions he was asking him from jump.
so glad Denzel didnt go the easy way these days...like...marvel bs hero movies...he is the last bastion of good acting, good cinema....fortunately there are still actors, human beings like him out there...
@mannie7028 This is why we black people will never be able to unite. People like Steve A Smith and others were once black when they needed our support, but now they don't need us so they are willing to sell us out in order to stay in good condition, with the white racist party. Denzel Washington I included!
Denzel is such a class act and really proves it in this interview. One of my favorite movies of his was Malcolm X. He was so good, it was like seeing the real Malcolm X on the screen.
Mr. Denzel Washington is an absolute GENIUS!
Denzel is a class act.
That was a master class in the interview, Mr. Washington!!
Man on Fire….In this day of streaming I have it on DVD. Have watched it at least 50 times.
Best actor ever!!
Malcolm X should have got him an Oscar.
The look denzel gives him at 9:08 was like "aww you mottha fucka..."
I start watching movies because of Denzel Washington: a true Character on and off the Screen
Denzel and Billy D. Williams are the most beautiful men that ever existed.iimo.😊
Full display of DIGNITY and Self Respect and class.
I don't know how many times I watched this movie I can get enough
Denzils Malcolm X performance was beyond epic...
Not Oscar worthy though.
Facts of life.
Just watched Man on Fire two days ago...❤❤❤❤ in 2024
I love him and his family ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful human being negotiating, on the spot, his suspicious apprehensions, his desire to be gracious… making it through the obstacle course: he’s a wonderful person. + He loves Lenny Kravitz so he’s OK in my books. A beautiful man.
My Love!..Denzel Washington
Great interview with a true Superstar.
class pure class
This is extremely talaNTED MAN...I watch all his movies
Life is never easy if you have a dream to pursue under the sun. Mr Washington just posted his scenario as a dreamer, fighter and achiever … So genuine, powerful and encouraging… Great Interview Indeed🎉.
Denzel is definitely a class act………🖤✨⚡️💫‼️
One of the best interviews I’ve seen
The mark of a brilliant interviewer and and awesome interviewee who have mutual respect for each other.
Interviewer was far from brilliant. He was offensive and borderline condescending.
Denzel was still humble
So IMPRESSIVE! That's a 1st Decan Capricorn you were talking to..one of the best of the best..Mr. Washington 🙏🏾
What's your favourite Denzel scene?
@HelloJamesBond All the scenes in each movie, because all of his movies are watch- worthy.
@ Try and think of a good one…my fave. @ Hello by the way, nice to chat. What about your favourite film, Deja Vu?
One of My FAVORITE MOVIE ❤
One of the great actors.
Brilliant...!!!
What a wonderful actor. I have never seen hi. In a bad performance. Man on fire great.
Cry Freedom when he plays Steven Biko
Eli!
This would be a most painful interview to watch were it not for the sheer class displayed by Mr Washington

Are there a lot of black people in England? Is it same like America black brits being from slavery?@@silewis9396
He’s a stellar interview.

Great actor and seems so jumble man of great character.

Big Denz
Never heard of him being an alcoholic
Alcohol and cocaine. But, it's Denzel Washington, and he's kept the downside of it under raps.
You leave him alone
Denzel is the boss
The greatest ❗❗Dakota❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❗❗❗❗♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Now Im 51 I look at Parkinson in a different light and hear him in a different tune
I LOVE HIM❤❤❤❤

Denzel class act he could of got pissy about Micheal questions about alcoholics and his parents but he's too cool for that.
The interviewer was plain rude and he knew it, and Denzel knew it. Yes, Denzel was very witty at the end at kept it classy
Were you watching a different interview? Two classy men jiving and bouncing off each other.. @@wendigo1919
The interviewers nowadays spend more time talking than their guests do, two fantastic men here, role models
I live near by Eugene O’Neal and often take my family there just to walk around and see free 🎭. Beautiful place for young actors!
Denzel is indeed the “GOAT”!
This guy exudes a non offensive confidence.
From 5:18 - 7:00 😂😂😂
Aww great
what a talented kid,no need to say anything about denzel-we know 👊
15:24 that last part on the toilet ended me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The interviewer needed to do his homework.
Having Denzel sitting on a toilet doesn’t make him any less sexy… it makes him human!
Came for Denzel left after witnessing the interviewers behaviour 🥲

I think you’ll find that most people who watch this will be Michael Parkinson fans.

The subtle art of ridiculing an interviewer who asks you stupid and false questions. Tastefully displayed by Denzel here.
Mr. D Washington, along with friends, is about to be revealed as allegedly having done not very nice things. Truth.
Wow......I can not believe he accused Denzel of being an alcoholic and gang member.
Tasteless!
What are the personality could ask them sort of questions and get out of a class at time to answer honestly
Saturday 11th September 2004
Michael Parkinson is completely and utterly rude. Mr Washington was eloquent in how he handled this ignorant individual.
They just can’t help it with the black questions.
It’s just baked in.
Very sad but not for Denzel.
Great nuts n bolts film.of corruption and kidnap and reliability of protection and how when relationship forms then paternal .protection .bond forms .the bad guy has a child .like a pit bull from. .cradle to grave .
I’ve never heard of this interviewer and already I do not like him
Why's that? He's one of the most famous interviewers of all time.
Mt. Vernon,New York own my family from my uncle church my ,summer camp counselor .

What happened to Michael Parkinson here????????.
Embarrassing and shameful conduct!!!!!!!
Watching this was a very unpleasant experience 😩

A scam channel running recycled content

D Washington has become a house N
What a stupid comment - why because he is decent , intelligent, eloquent and handling this interview with dignity instead of punching him !
Denzel is my fav actor. Man on fire was just brilliant!
@mannie7028 This is why we black people will never be able to unite.
