I could listen to Stephen Fry for hours. He recently came to my home town in Australia and I was away from home, so couldn’t see his show. So disappointed!
What town was it?
What a wonderful man, I could sit & listen to his anecdotes for hours.
I love Stephen Fry! The comment about Harrods!! 🤭
He doesn't like Egyptians?
@@heff107Perhaps he just doesn't like people who serially sa their employees..
All that brilliance and all that charm in one person!
many compliments....but one of the amazing things was the 'on the fly' impressions he gave no matter who he was talking about - charles, his american friend and so on...they all effortlessly were part fo the anecdote
Highly amusing.. I loved this fella in Blackadder
I loved this fella in everything.
It's always a pleasurable and learning experience listening to Stephen 😊
That is exactly right. I never realized that the learning part is always there. Thanks
Legend. I don't even have to qualify that one word with who I mean.
Agree, very listenable
Fantastic
Wonderful Parky. Steven was able to get a full sentence said, which is quite different from the interview along side Robin Williams from Mork and Mindy. Good conversation.
This is from circa 2005 (on the basis that that's when the Hitchhiker's Guide movie he was discussing/promoting came out).
Stephen and Nigella were on the April 6th 2005 Broadcast of WWTBAM.
Would be pretty useful amongst the useless blurb written at the top that they would include this information.
Came looking for exactly this info. Thank you. Crikey, twenty years ago almost.
This was fun to watch...
A delightful interview -Stephen is a great raconteur and Parky an interviewer..
“Chavs… the way forward”. Ha! Fry, you’re a god!
Watch QI where he is the moderator. There are 4 panelists that are mostly comedians, but are quite intelligent. It is a grand show. 😁
Splendid raconteur.
Good Egg. Polite Company no doubt.
Would love if the original air dates were posted with these videos. Loving the content!
National Treasure.
A very interesting and erudite man.
What a beautiful man ❤
If only today's TV interviewers could ask the right questions and SHUT IP long enough to hear the guest's answers just like Parkie did.
Most high born English boys at the age of 7-8yrs are sent to an all boys Boarding School. They don’t miss their parents so much as their “Nanny”/ Governess.
High born?
@
Wealthy/privileged usually over generations would maybe attend the same school traditionally.
Great response to bullying
Fan of Stephen Fry and Robin Williams Stephen Fry is not used to possibly not being the smartest man in the room. Robin was more than a tv star he was an activist and humanitarian Was fascinated to learn about his quiet kindness Stephen and he shared amazing intelligence and the desire to make a difference
When was this interview filmed?
Note at 6:49 - Parkinson says this film of Stephen's is coming out on 29th April. And then Parkinson says Stephen will be attending the royal wedding of Prince Charles to Camilla (next week). This happened on Saturday 9th April 2005, so this interview must have happened on Saturday 2nd April 2005, in fact the day Pope John Paul II died.

Brilliant ! Thanks
2005 .. please give data
Saturday 2nd April 2005
Interesting that he should comment on ‘those nice people at Harrods’.
Interesting that you did not give the whole quote, added to which he merely repeated the comment made by the Queen Mother and then added his own aside.
@@pamiverson3479 I don’t need to give the whole quote. Those that watch it will hear that he goes on to say, “….this is when there WERE nice people at Harrods you understand….”
Yes, but when will the agricultural industry be playing music to the plants as he does?
Are bright white socks really back again? It's been a long time!
This was almost 20 years ago, so it is an old clip
L.S Lorwy was a rent man, Therefore a debt collector. One thing I knew that my beloved Sir Stephen Fry didn't !
he looks a bit young for "King charles" :P
He also looks kind of nervous.
White socks?
Too short off a interview thank you
Love Stephen but find it strange he believes in a monarchy, especially one that is head of the church. Surely he doesn’t believe in the anointing of kings. I wonder if he’s ever discussed his atheism with Charles or the double standards around marriage.
Stephen is an atheist and so finds that ceremony just purely historical and forms part of tradition.
2 Knights
How well he called it .... not disciplining children properly has ruined this generation.
Hello miss The Point. Or is it miss Ing Braincells. Are your ears painted on?
I loved the Hitchikers series of books . Unfortunately the film was terrible
Now in 2025, Stephen Fry will become Sir Stephen Fry, after he got a knighthood in the 2025 New Year's Honours List. I am not a royalist, and I really like Stephen, but his brown nosing of Charles and the royals just makes me feel sick. So he has won his reward.
Ironic for a man called King!
@@SpeccyMan A surname means nothing. I take it from you, you are obsessed with glasses.
Stehen Fry - Brilliant raconteur, terrible actor!
Have you never seen Blackadder?
@@JuneMiller-sf1ii I also think he did a great job as Oscar Wilde, pretty good range from Blackadder to Wilde 😁
There’s something about Fry I don’t care for. Somehow a bit sleazy & grubby.
Yeah I’m not a fan, either. He seems to talk down to people.
"Hmm a video with a man I don't like very much....I must watch it so I can tell the world of my dislikes" 😂😂
@@angemaidment5640 probably just the way he talks, but I've seen him a lot and I don't agree. "Seems" is the important word, not really talking down...just seems to.
@@bennylloyd-willner9667 not at all! I’m permitted to air my view whether having watched the video or not!
@MrDavey2010 ahh, you came to complain only. Sure, the world need more negativity so spill your guts🤦♂️😂
