- Join us during winter in North Idaho as we introduce you to our cows, bake a pie, and cook by the wood stove during snowstorms. Our family works together to maintain our ranch and create lasting memories for our children in the snow-covered countryside. Spring is around the corner and we can still enjoy the remainder of burn season as we heat our home with firewood and eat freshly baked banana cream pie.
Many have asked for the Banana Cream Pie Recipe!
This is our fave! I use cup to cup GF Flour for the crust and it works wonderfully! I also just use a little bit of honey to sweeten our whipped cream instead of the called for sugar because the banana cream filling is already sweet enough. About Us: Thanks for joining us and our four homeschooled children behind the scenes as we run our ranch together and enjoy traditional mountain living. We raise Scottish Highland cattle, Katahdin sheep, Berkshire pigs, and barnyard chickens on 100 acres in beautiful scenic Idaho. We are a Christian family that drinks raw milk, raises our own meat, works with our hands, and hunt and fish together to help fill our freezer.
This channel won't be flashy or exciting. We love the beauty of old fashioned slow living as a family. From here on out we plan on posting content from our daily lives around the ranch as we cook and eat together, learn together, build from scratch, steward the land, and tend to livestock as a family. We also make and consume a lot of sourdough bread. :)

Such a wonderful video put together so nicely. I miss my kids and grandkids when they were at home . All the babies in my immediate family are grown up one still in college. I sure do love them but I want you to know your videos are a blessing to me . I raised my children up in the Lord and it’s so wonderful to find families that still do this . Love the gate clicker/opener as well. Is that a 2017 model 😂.
Lastly, in a society where fathers & men seem to be disposable and husbands optional, it’s refreshing to hear mother express her love for her husband.
There was a poll taken recently where wife’s overwhelming admitted to loving their children more than their husbands.
I thought it a sad reality but unfortunately not surprising.
I pray we as God’s children, get back to a truly biblical household.

I'm 39 yrs old I'm still the gate opener and when I'm asked to drive to feed I open the gates and feed I never get to stay warm lol

@@TheRancherAndTheWife I live down the road and have 4 kids and they love being around the farm my 2 brothers and there kids love the farm life as well. My 2 sisters kids live the horses and the baby cattle and we have close to 100 mother cows and 75 calves.

For the sake of publicity for your channel I'd suggest filming Granny's delivery. Those videos seem to do well on other homesteaders' channels. I speculate that the appeal is that humans have domesticated animals for hundreds of thousands of years (longer than we are told) and that this is a fundamental part of life missing to those of us in the city. I'm always fascinated.
Thanks so much! Good eye on the worn in table we eat at 😃 husband made that table for us and left is rough so the kids could wear it in. We hope we can catch Granny’s calving but they love to hide those calves! 🧐

This absolutely makes me want to move to Idaho! 😊… we live in Southwest Virginia but my husband, for the past 25 years has always talked about moving to Idaho! My mother of eight children, would always be the first to rise and build our coal fire. This gave her time to consider the needs of the day, time for gathering herself together and solitude with the Lord before the family rose up. She treasured the time she said. What assurance for us children to see her first as we came down the stairs. 🙏😘

I'm a new subscriber love family farm channels I have chickens and a pet pig I'm in the middle of building a pink chicken house and new run I got more chickens and I have 1 turkey had 2 but my neighbors dog had killed her and some of my other chickens and my cats and my little dog we didn't want to fight with our neighbors wete support to love them so we never said anything just prayed about the dog and God took cate of it in his time my dogs stay in my yard every one else dogs and kids like to come mess with my pig when I'm not home so I had to lock his gate if he gets out when I'm not home I'm scared wete I live someone may shoot him in livebin south Mississippi I'm wanting more animals only when God allows it and were going to build my pet pig bandit a new house barn so he can have a big House love your cows I want a milk cow to and a goat I'm going to enjoy your channel

@@sandraoconnor5700 He takes off coats when he is hot and puts them on when he is cold. That happens about 20x per day off and on 😂 we find coats everywhere.
