Thanks for joining us and our four homeschooled children behind the scenes as we run our ranch together and enjoy traditional mountain living. We are an old fashioned Christian family that drinks raw milk, raises our own meat, works with our hands, and hunt and fish together to help fill our freezer. We met 13 years ago and moved into a run down farm in the mountains. Over the years we have had just about every farm animal there is, but now raise mainly Scottish Highland cattle, Katahdin sheep, Berkshire pigs, barnyard chickens, and one milk cow in beautiful scenic Idaho.
This channel won't be flashy or exciting. We love the beauty of old fashioned slow living as a family. From here on out we plan on posting content from our daily lives around the ranch as we cook and eat together, learn together, build from scratch, steward the land, and tend to livestock as a family. We also make and consume a lot of sourdough bread. :)

30 Minutes With An Idaho Rancher | Tractor | Fencing | Cows | Sheep
30 Minutes With An Idaho Rancher is a segment showing one of the many typical daily tasks we do to keep our ranch running. We've been busy this spring getting large transplanted trees in the ground and now need to make some more access gates so rotating livestock and running irrigation is easier.

Join us during springtime in North Idaho as we complete our farm chores and welcome a few more Scottish Highland calves to the ranch. We fill our refrigerator with raw cow's milk from our family milk cow, Shirley, who gives birth to a handsome bull calf named Mr. Cocoa. We are letting Shirley nurse Mr. Cocoa during the day and night and we milk her as a family first thing in the morning to fill...

Join us during spring time in North Idaho as we get ready for our newest milk cow, Shirley, to deliver her 2024 calf. We build a simple milk stanchion out of old wood scraps from past construction projects and get it fitted for Shirley so she can provide delicious raw milk for our family of 6. The lady of the house here skips some normal housekeeping chores because making memories outside on an...

nice Christian family. We need more
You are truly blessed !❤
Yes a protective nature shows through what they do and how well it is done
POV. Your a man that can basically do everything and refuses to get married
just stop using those animals if you actually care about them which is really illogical considering it is a farm that gains profit off of their utilization and constant painful death and agony just look at these cows, goats and chickens that you've got Do They All Want To Die Do They Want To Lose Their Babies look at them and tell me if they can't feel death and torment if they can't feel loss and betrayal if they can't feel separation and agony (it is a big oxymoron (WE DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS ) just turn your farm into an animal sanctuary if you actually love those majestic and gentle creatures if you actually understand the meaning of the parental bond that they carry that we carry if you know life it doesn't have to be what you were always taught to believe it needed to be trust me this isn’t OK we should make both those animals and the dreams that we have coexist and evolve into benevolence from malevolence because we are able and because it’s wrong not to people are starting to wake and more and more people are actually starting to make the change and realise the connection because they realized the real value of these animals and it isn't in what they can offer us (IT'S NEVER IN WHAT THEY CAN OFFER US) AND IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO CHANGE this industry is the actual definition of evil and you KNOW IT. You look like very kind people and family doesn't kind families understand the real value of life more than anyone else❤
Just turn it into a cathartic soul felt sanctuary where people could connect and heal with these beautiful and gentle souls that have experienced an enormous amount of pain and loss like a lot of other human beings trust me animal sanctuaries make way much more money than you think
I made one myself after years and generations of being a farmer and neither I nor my family ever felt more happy or alive because finally my morals our morals were aligned with what we always felt deeply and vehemently in our conquered hearts and souls by the love of these animals❤️💕🌹
Ahhh.those men are rare these days.
I love a man that do it all .
Any prick can build a shed.
Really enjoy watching your videos, it's been a month since your last episode! I hope everything is ok!!!
@@user-gh3kr5kz8k everything is wonderful thank you!! :) We are so busy with life we dont have time to film things, maybe even until winter when things slow down :) If you want to film and edit for us we will put more out!! 😂😂😂. Thanks for checkin in
A tractor is literally a god send.
Ahi that's what I'm trying to be but don't nobody wanna teach me anythingbmy dad didn't teach me shi growing up and school didn't neither
We can do everything because we grew up needing to know the essential skills or else we would be dead
What's funny is almost every comment is about the fact that you appreciate it. Good on you for being able to recognize it. I deal with lack of appreciation all the time because I get told, " that's just what you do" The divorce papers will probably be coming soon.
This my favorite song !!!!!!
Translation poor.
Hope you all are doing OK!! 🤍
Roof is crooked 😄 half ass.
The second we heard Hank.. just know it's good
I did too. I used to say he can put in an irrigation system, plant flowers, and remove a chest tube. alcohol destroyed him.😢😢
I miss making homemade goodies for my husband. We have no kitchen at the moment which makes it difficult to make anything at all, especially being pregnant. (We are expecting our first baby. A boy! ❤❤) My husband tore out the old kitchen and is working on putting a new one in. We moved to a new house and he found mold and termite damage so the old kitchen had to go. He’s so sweet and helping by grilling dinner whenever he can. It’s Florida summer so that means rain almost every afternoon lol. I appreciate all he does for us and our growing family. And yes I do tell and show him often!
I do love a man that can do just about anything and WILL work! I was lucky enough to have a good man that was a Jack of all trades. I worked right along beside him helping any way I could. And now that has paid off. He died four years ago with brain cancer. He taught me so much and I’ve used that knowledge many times. For instance, I sharpen my own lawnmower blades. I’m 62 and do all my own yard work. And light maintenance on my mowers. We have three sons but I don’t like asking for help. Just recently I had two cyclone fence posts that needed to be pulled up. We had lots of rain in the late spring and the ground was really wet. I remembered my husband said that was the best time to get a fence post out of the ground. I got a shovel and within a few minutes had both out of the ground! They were set in concrete! I took a picture of my work and sent it to my sons! They couldn’t believe their Mom did that with no help!
Me mi next kin
You know what is written....'idle hands...."
I adore my husband. That man can do anything and if he can’t, he WILL figure it out ❤
Now theres a man worth marrying ,,forget that huge paycheck ..that wont buy you happiness or real security , Love your man ,,and Show him you Do❤❤❤❤

"I can plow a field all day long, I could catch catfish from dusk til dawn. We make our own whiskey and our own smoke too. Aint too many things these ol boys cant do." -Hank Williams Jr.

Glad to see his wife at least likes him. But maybe you are just still young😢
huh? we've been together 13 years and four kids and love each other and have a wonderful marriage. not sure what that means haha.
@TheRancherAndTheWife Sorry. I'm sure there are many things beside his ability to do anything that add up to make him the man you love. I'm just used to couples in my own life, not apriciating that about their husband's even though it IS objectively amazing. Glad you have a great relationship.💪👍
@@jakesarmwrestlinguniverse9792 that is terrible, sorry you have seen so much of that! We feel that the media and film etc portray most relationships as terrible as an attempt to discourage family formation. In our lives anyway we know countless flourishing families and strong marriages that consist of very happy spouses. But our friends are old fashioned types and Christians so admittedly it is a different cross section than most of society. We wouldnt have if any other way though. All the best to you Jake! 💪🤠👍
@TheRancherAndTheWife Thanks so much for understanding, brother and sister in Christ! First time for me seeing your content.
@@jakesarmwrestlinguniverse9792 awesome! And blessings to you in finding a great godly woman. Theyre out there!
