  • In this video we some of the work we did on the old house within the first year of purchasing it. We add a covered porch and make an open-concept kitchen and dining area. The Mrs. makes a custom bed frame for us and shows the Craigslist cabinetry we cobbled together for our farmhouse kitchen. Our spring crop of Katahdin sheep lambs are enjoying some new pasture alongside our Berkshire pigs.
About Us: Thanks for joining us and our four homeschooled children behind the scenes as we run our ranch together and enjoy traditional mountain living. We raise Scottish Highland cattle, Katahdin sheep, Berkshire pigs, and barnyard chickens on 100 acres in beautiful scenic Idaho. We are a Christian family that drinks raw milk, raises our own meat, works with our hands, and hunt and fish together to help fill our freezer.
This channel won't be flashy or exciting. We love the beauty of old fashioned slow living as a family. From here on out we plan on posting content from our daily lives around the ranch as we cook and eat together, learn together, build from scratch, steward the land, and tend to livestock as a family. We also make and consume a lot of sourdough bread. :)

The guardian dogs are so important for a farm with animals. They are worth their weight in gold. Excellent video. The homestead looks amazing and congratulations on a new baby ❤

Boot Hill Ranch Idaho I love your videos, I actually found your channel yesterday. You posted about your free camper build on one of the homesteading groups on Facebook and that led me to your channel. I watch homesteading RUclips channels more that regular TV. So I am constantly looking for new channels to follow. I’m looking forward to your future videos and watching your beautiful homestead grow. Huge fan of the house reno too!

@@DarkHorse541 same with us! no TV, and not huge fans of movies, prefer real humans living real lives of inspiration and you can find that on youtube, we do the same! :)

Framing freedoms Husband here. Love the videos. And really love the wall of freedom. I do a lot of gunsmithing and I really wish I had a wall of freedom and not a cabinet of freedom lol.

@@HiddenValleyHomestead We've never run a blower. Just a plow. Had a blower attachment many years ago and never got to it, always like running a plow. Old dog new tricks? ha

@@TheRancherAndTheWife Yeah your road is pretty wide open with room on the sides to push snow. My road has nowhere to push it hence the need for a blower.
