The viewership numbers for those segments are very interesting. Doing 4 million plus during the announcement of him hosting Wrestlemania & the vignettes next week doing more than 5 million. Those are the kind of numbers WWE would kill for nowadays.

People forget his comeback in 2011 really helped project him back to bigtime fame. Before that he was known as a failed Disney actor from the tooth fairy and other sucky movies. Him coming back and the success of fast 5 simultaneously shot him up to be the megastar he is today.

Rock in about 6-7 yrs became the best in the biz in that small pocket of time. Not discounting Stone Cold at all. Cena was the standard bearer for upwards of 15 yrs in a "PG" era. In that time, Cena's had millions of matches. But wrestling the Rock put him over as an icon! Despite the results bc Rock matters that much to the biz. *See Rock-Hogan at Mania* No one should ever disrespect either man's path to success. Nor should anyone be mentioned with Rock other than Austin, Hogan, and Naitch when it came to drawing. I'm talking over 1 mil ppv buys as the headliner. I'm not talking 18K at TD Garden on free TV on a Monday night. HBK despite all his in ring greatness he didn't draw. Same with Brett.

I give me a tear in my eve as well seeing The Rock returned in 2011 after 7 years. I never forget the crowd reaction in Anaheim on Raw when saw him Returned live in person after 7 years. It was the loudest crowd reaction at the time for while.
Unlike others I never took personal when Rock wasnt there every week when Cena criticized him for saying he was never going away and claims he was lying to his fans. No I knew Rock was only going to be there on occasions like Stone Cold and other legends have done. It just means Rock was going to be more involved from time to time when he can. Hes been doing it since.
