Hogan not putting Flair over for the belt at least ONCE is the greatest loss to true fans. These two guys should have been able to have a year long epic feud prior to Hogan's heel turn down the road. Both had selfish tendencies, but Flair laid down for the Hulkster in what had been his territory for years. The favor should have been returned.

Got to take things into consideration here. Hogan was leaving after wm8, why would they want to put the belt on a guy that was going away? And they wouldn't have wanted flair going over their top guy on their premier show. Makes sense why it never happened.

    • @HereIsWisdom1318
      @HereIsWisdom1318 3 года назад +1

That cant be the excuse; no matter what anyone says, Hogan is a decent wrestler, and then there’s his appeal.
Hogan vs Flair would have been CRAZY!
If they couldnt figure out a clean finish, theres no reason why Sid couldn’t interfere, powerbombing Hogan twice or thrice and Flair getting the pinfall, Hogan still looking strong. After the match, Warrior could have made the return-saving Hogan from a Horsemen like beatdown. HELL, Vince could have brought in Tully and and Arn, thus Hogan losing to the Horsemen at Wrestlemania.
And Hogan could have gotten his Summerslam re-match!

    • @GamingNewsIn60

@@HereIsWisdom1318 dude none of that works. In theory it sounds great. But hogan was gone till 1993. So no rematch for summerslam 92.

Have you ever wondered where your soul goes after this life? Have you wondered what will happen to you during your judgement day in front of God almighty? God will show you all the things that you did in your lifetime. Are you confident you will go to heaven?
Basically we are all sinners despite any tiny sins we commit like lying, bad thoughts, or cussing. It doesn't even matter how many good deeds we do because one little sin is bad enough already in God's point-of-view.
Fortunately, our God, Jesus Christ, decided to come down to Earth as a SINLESS human and sacrificed His life for our sins. Then He resurrected three days later! Therefore if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Savior for your sins, you'll DEFINITELY HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. God loves you that He did this for us knowing that most humans would deny Him. It doesn't mean that a Christian won't sin anymore because this world is already filled with sin. It just means you entrust your soul to God, and you will be qualified to go to heaven on judgement day.
If you choose to accept Him as your Savior for your sins, you will be (percetange-wise) one of the few amazing souls who will go to heaven. Most people will die denying Jesus Christ and will forever suffer in the lake of fire.

We got Flair vs Savage and it was fantastic. 8 also had Bret and Piper, which was a fantastic match! I was there in the Hoosier Dome and even as a 6 year old I was rooting for Sid. Hogan was old news by then. He wasn't relevant again until his heel turn years later.

@@feebypeels2883 That’s so awesome you got to be there! Yes that version of Hogan had definitely expired by then, and those were both excellent matches, I must agree. Hogan/Flair was something that should’ve happened earlier, I just wish that they had not hyped it so much then switched on us later when it was finally a possibility. Sid was fire at the Rumble that year and dominated at Wrestlemania, no doubt, and Savage/Flair was also an amazing match. Loved the Piper/Bret match as well, especially the heel tease on Piper’s part - and I was surprised to see Bret juiced at a time that wasn’t allowed!

In 1995 WCW had just to name the well knowns at that time: Sting, Vader, Macho Man Randy Savage, Arn Anderson (and the 4 horseman), Chris Benoit, Ric Flair, Diamond Dallas Page (people say he didnt get a push until later, he was already television champion in 1995), Meng, Sabu, and the Harlem Heat (who were pretty much always over in the WCW). To say he didn't think they had the talent just shows how little he knew of the company.

As weird as this is to type, Flair vs. Hogan means more to WCW than it does to WWF at the time. When Flair and Hogan did the house show circuit it was the worst business they'd ever done for a major Hogan feud, which is why they swapped in Taker. The WWF audience had been conditioned to think anything that wasn't there, was not a big deal, and grandpa in his bathrobe wasn't big to them. In WCW it's Outsider vs. Beloved Star. Which is why they messed it up so badly here and why WCW was always the red-headed stepchild of wrestling. Even inside their own company. TNA had this same problem. They watch WWE and copied it on a smaller scale because they didn't believe in themselves or could project confidence.
For match 1 at Bash, that thing needs to be Face vs. Face, and Flair needs to stand tall with the big gold belt at the end of the night. Once in a Lifetime, Flair vs. Hogan. It can be Flair turning heel during the match to cheat his balls off. Those fans will eat that up for a night. Because that gives Hogan something to chase, a big star that beat him, and it gives the letters WCW meaning in one night, makes your audience proud to be a fan, to have ridden out that horrific half-decade. Flair beats Hogan. The conquering WWF scamp doesn't bitch out your biggest star for almost 3 decades clean in a ridiculous overbooked slop fest that gives Flair nothing to even hold onto for a rematch.-
Once he bitches out Flair their business toilets again because it's master and commander Hulk vs. Comedy Job Brigade starring all of his friends to job to him.
You build the rematch for Starrcade, you have Hulk beat people for a little while away from the main title picture and you give your fans a chance to acclimate to Hogan's BS . Then you do the match they did at Bash AND NOT FUCKING BRUTUS! In the biggest flop in Starrcade history.

As a young WWF fan at the time, I can confirm that I didn't care one ounce about WCW (I knew it existed and read in the magazines sometimes, had some of the action figures, but didn't follow it or regularly watch it like I did WWF), and when they brought in Flair even knowing he was supposed to be some big legend from WCW, he was not a credible challenger in my eyes to Hogan and I wondered why he was thrust immediately to the title picture and why I was supposed to think he's a good wrestler (and then when I saw him in the ring I didn't even like what he was doing). It felt kind of contrived to me as someone who hadn't followed his career.

Basically we are all sinners despite any tiny sins we commit like lying, bad thoughts, or cussing. It doesn't even matter how many good deeds we do because one little sin is bad enough already in God's point-of-view.

Therefore if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Savior for your sins, you'll DEFINITELY HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. No company will ever threaten WWE because, for twenty-something years, they have been a publicly-traded stock on the NYSE and were built into the largest “sports entertainment” enterprise. So, it will not matter who is the best in-ring worker or the most talented performer, it is about turning pro-wrestlers who look the part into actors so Vince can sell them on Wall Street as corporate assets, then make his commission for launching the next Dwayne Johnson or Hulk Hogan into Hollywood.
But, if we are talking about quality wrestling product and actual tv ratings, AEW has a chance of doing better. Pro wrestling is awesome and it should not be interfered with by people who do not understand pro wrestling. That's how WCW was shut down, and that is why the AEW product does a million times better than WWE's.

    • @Matt-cr4vv
      @Matt-cr4vv 2 года назад

I don't think being publically traded really makes the immense difference per se. There really isn't any magic to being publically traded versus privately held outside of raising capital, which a company like AEW really don't have to worry about considering the money behind them.
The reason nobody will ever threaten WWE is really more so just the immense head start in every facet that they have. They have huge international deals a presence everywhere, huge merchandise streams, immense TV deals, brand awareness, etc. that has been built over the past 40 or so years. It just isn't practical to think any company can catch up to that in any near future time frame.

The old man icon down on his luck on the verge of just giving up but the fans keep him going. And eventually hulk over comes and eventually gets the belt back even then retires and fans would have forever loved the story.
Hogan was going on hiatus after Mania 8 and therefore it wouldn’t make sense for him to win and regain the title from Flair. WWF also couldn’t let WCW Flair come in and get the win in the main event of Mania. Vince ego. Hogan ego. Nothing more. However, Flair vs Savage was a better match and it led to a rematch and a tag match at Survivor Series. They could have a better match together. Hogan’s routine against Bundy, Earthquake, Sid and Yokozuna was more his style. WCW was a bale to cash in on the main event because Hogan had been gone for a year and it was a much bigger deal. Hogan faces Flair a few times in 1992 notnon TV, and they may have even been afraid of Hogan being booed at Wrestlemania.

Hulk hogan was a superhero when I was a kid. When he left it was so surreal that I didn’t even want to watch the cheap wcw knock off product. That’s what I thought at the time. Once the Monday night wars and nwo really started, I was flipping channel to wcw on raw commercial breaks. I basically missed hogan as a baby face in wcw and just moved on when he was gone to Shawn and Bret. Then of course Austin happened and it changed everything. Still the wrestler I miss the most. All those old timers hung on for so long but Austin left fairy young.

Loved The Rock and Austin Feud but I always had a soft spot for The High Chiefs lineage much like I did for the Hart's and Von Eric's. The WWF wasn't Wrestling to me. There was never any consistency. No feuds that lasted. No real Storylines.

I’m from Boston so the wwf and north east of course. I was a little kid and Hogan was just a hero I didn’t know why I just knew it was special when I saw him on wwf tv. Watching Sunday superstars, you rarely saw hogan. I think there was a lot of terrible story stuff in all of pro wrestling back then lol. I never cared about the Von Erichs because I really only saw one of them later on. I was too young.

Doing Hogan and Flair was something but I remember back in the 80s watching both shows thinking "Hogan is invincible but he would not have it that easy against Flair and the Horsemen". But when Hogan went to WCW, alright you have the match up but there's no Horsemen, it's Flair with his manager Sherry Martel and the storyline is the ref Mr. T and that maybe Flair tempered with him before the match. And then once Flair is defeated, Ric is forgotten and Hogan is attacked by the "Butcher" and it is revealed to be Hogan's friend Brutus Beefcake and Hogan is up and running with the Dungeon of Doom rivalry. Probably cause Hogan wanted to feud with his buddy. But they missed the boat on not having Hogan vs Flair and The Horsemen. And they could have milked that for a long time.

@@Tresdad09 That is not in the same ballpark. Sting was just another WCW mainstay. We are talking about the legendary Hulk Hogan. It would have been interesting as Hell seeing him interact with the Horsemen trying to push them off. All the storylines would have been off the hook if written properly. Although knowing WCW at the time, they would have had Hogan team up with Savage and at the end of the day, Hogan would have easily won most of the fights. lol WCW 1994 may have been too late cause the booking was not the greatest. Something around 1988 would have had been the time to do it. Maybe by having Flair jump ship to the WWF with Blanchard and Anderson when they did it. You do it post Andre-Hogan.

But the excitement of Hogan coming to WCW only lasted a couple months because then it just turned into a rip off version of what he was doing in WWF and top WCW heels like Vader and Flair were reduced to doing nothing but jobs for Hogan and savage for the next two years. From fall of 94-mid 96 WCW was hurting because of Hogan. Him turning heel and joining Hall and Nash was truly best for business .

I dont hate Hogan I just intensely dislike how he does his job.
If you could persuade him to do the job and do it clean he would still find a way to steal the heat and get himself over.
He gave The Rock a clean finish at Mania but completely stole the spotlight post match. To the point where I almost forgot The Rock won.
I'm still surprised to this day he jobbed that night...and to this day has the cheek to call it "passing the torch"
If Hogan doesnt win a match then you can be guaranteed of one of the following finishes
Cheaty tight grab roll up/feet on ropes
    Double DQ or count out.
    Interferance and schmoz.
    Some form of screwjob.
Name 5 matches where Hogan loses clean?
    I'll wait.
    BUT
Inspite all my smarky shit talk I do dont blame or hate the guy.
Hes rarely been outside the top 10 draws in his career and he came from an era when you protected your spot violently and the business was protected a f unexposed.
fans had no idea we were being worked and 1 loss could kill your image, his approach never changed with time and he never learned that you can have a 50/50 record and still be over as fuck, he does business his way and that's that.
If you are booked to work a programme with him you'll make money but it may hurt your career overall. You're getting buried either way even if the shovel he uses is made of solid gold.
