Super rugby was bad for SA. Rules changed to advantage all blacks whenever we looked like dominating. Australia milking our coffers and then still trying to exclude SA teams in the expansion. Travel grossly bias in favour of Oz and Nz. SA rugby public short changed on start times. Best thing we ever did was get out. URC has lifted Scotland game, helped keep Irish rugby sharp with good competition for the up and coming players. This next year we start also adding substance to the European cup contest and that will then add value to France and England also.

Australians don't watch the wallabies anymore cause there are barely any white or indigenous Australians playing. It just feels like we field a team that we shipped over from the Islands. That's not unethical, but it's hard to relate to, and a lot of people agree.
Rugby in Aus has to compete with league and Aussie rules who both pay a lot more- QED
True but why? They make more money. Union needs to get their act together adapt set itself apart and make (a) more money and (b) youngsters want to come to union rather. Or shrivel up and die out.
