  • Step by step on how to reprogram the TPMS sensors on your Lexus IS
    In this case, the car has two sets of TPMS (one set for the summer wheels and one set for the winter wheels)
    This generation (2014-2020) can only store one set of TPMS.

    For the record, the OBD relearn function is under TPMS Diagnostic, not Relearn Procedure. Otherwise, excellent tutorial.

    Hi George, good video btw…
    So I have a 3is 2016 and I bought the 2021 wheels with oem tpms, you believe that I can program with this tool or I need a newer one version?
    Thank you.

      I'm not sure, I'll know in the spring time if this tool works on the 2021+ IS, I'm sure it will with a software update if anything

      @@Giorgio_Rampa so I think I will order now, you think this version or newer?

      @eljustin76 this tool will work on your car, as for programming the 2021 TPMS, I'm fairly certain it would work. Check the part number of the 2021 TPMS, if it's the same as the 2016, then this tool will work for sure. If you're using it on a 2021 Lexus IS, then in my opinion a software update may be required.

    Do you have to use model ts501 or can we use an earlier model?

    • @Giorgio_Rampa
      @Giorgio_Rampa  2 года назад

      As long as the model is capable of doing the "relearn" then you're good to go. At the time, this was the model that had that function, the ones below it did not (this might change now, but I haven't checked)

    but... how to swtich fro first set to second set? is it an automatic process?

    • @Giorgio_Rampa
      @Giorgio_Rampa  2 года назад +1

      Same process. This generation only retains one set in memory

    What sensor did you use to replace your bad sensor ? Autel sensor ?

    • @Giorgio_Rampa

      I have two sets of wheels, both with OEM sensors.

      @@Giorgio_Rampa oh okay, i just replaced a sensor in my gs350, TPMS light went away and if if pressure drops in the tire the light will come on however its not giving me the psi reading in each tire. I bought a aftermarket sensor from amazon so i wonder if replacing it with an autel sensor would bring the psi readings back.

    • @Giorgio_Rampa
      @Giorgio_Rampa  2 года назад +1

      @@KZ-do6il not sure to be honest. The Autel machine that I'm using can program OEM sensors and Autel ones. I'd go with an OEM sensor just to avoid the constant trial and error 👍🏽

      @@Giorgio_Rampa i dont think you program the oem sensor. Just put the new ID in ecu through a obd tool.
