      @@DIYtimeTRDdo the new Lexus/Toyota's require this registration step? I know that you can choose recalibration thru the instrument cluster then drive above a certain speed for like 10 minutes and the system recalibrates itself? Also, the new Altel tpms sensors can be cloned to match the existing sensors in your vehicle.

I just got my rear tyre replaced, costing £86 extra because of this tyre pressure sensor on a 2016 Toyota Auris. As the sensor is INSIDE the tyre, the ordinary DIY person would not be able to take it out anyway. With the software and tools required to register the sensors, I don't even feel comfortable to rotate the tyres! Absolutely awful!

      If you already changing tires, it only takes 2 min to replace the sensor. My guy didnt charge me extra for it. Plus little favor like that goes a long way. • @DIYtimeTRD
      @DIYtimeTRD  2 года назад +1

      In my car with flat tire - light is always on and I get “Low pressure” warning. Bad sensor - light flashing, no “Low pressure” warning.
      If you deflate one tire at a time, and get “low pressure” that wheel is good. No warning - sensor is dead.

      @woodstream6137 2 года назад +1

    • @DIYtimeTRD

      It’s not necessary LH. If you rotate tires, TPMS system doesn’t detect that, cuz it communicates wirelessly with the sensors.

    Actually that cheap chinese cable ($25-$40) is useless. It can't write anything to your vehicle because that's a cheap clone of original dealer cable.

    what a nightmare ... to change the TMPS battery or replace a faulty TMPS you have to remove the tyre !!
    What a waste of time & money.
    WHAT A STUPID IDEA PUTTING THE SENSORS INSIDE THE TYRE !

    I bought the same cable to use with TIS, i have try to program tpms sensor and i got this error. (Terminate initialization by connecting the TC and CG of the DLC3 for 30 seconds) any ideas....

      The same sh1t with my cable.
      Because those cheap chinese cables can't write information.
      It can only read and erase errors like a regular Bluetooth scanner.
      I tried 3 different versions of Techstream.. still doesn't work.

    I felt good when you mentioned they won’t charge for mounting a new sensor. 👍

    I bought a set of wheels with 2019 Tacoma sensors and my truck is a 2019 4Runner, the light is on, would eventually reprogram themselves since they're the new type from Toyota? Or o have to reprogram them?

      You can just install your old sensors into your new wheels.

    What is the usual ft-lb torque for tightening the tpms sensor on the wheel. Thanks

    I had a 06 Toyota Highlander and my tire pressure light stays blinking all the time!!
    Any idea? Also I just replaced the TPMS (4)

      Did you register new sensors?

    Is it interchangeable 315 and 433 frequencies!?
    I installed acdelco 315 mhz on my 2019 camry, yet icant do the relearning.
    Tpms devise can’t sense the sensor !

    • @DIYtimeTRD
      @DIYtimeTRD  2 года назад

      Usually not. They are not interchangeable. It has to be very specific frequency.

    Does it matter if you have after market rims and tires?? I will probably have a shop put them in for me After alignment and rotation. However they are not the stock rims and tires. Thanks

      I think you won’t have any issues transferring sensor from old to your new rims. Stem valve holes should be the same.

    Just another thing to milk your pockets. If you check your tire pressure monthly and eyeball before you get in regularly, you don’t need a sensor.

    • @DIYtimeTRD
      @DIYtimeTRD  2 года назад +1

      You would have to eyeball tires every single time before driving. Once I got a nail and tire slowly deflated 100% overnight. Started the car and got a warning. If I didn't notice that I would destroy the tire and possibly the rim.

    Is Techstream available for Windows 10 yet? Had to fire up a 20 year old laptop to get it to work last time lol.

      Yes, if you have a 64-bit cable.

    I connected a scanner to the ECU and it reads that sensor 2 is faulty but I don’t know which one is sensor 2? Is that a right front tyre or? All four tyre pressure is the same. Thanks

    • @DIYtimeTRD
      @DIYtimeTRD  3 года назад +1

      There is no way to tell which one is it. You can rotate tires however you want, but that wont change sensor IDs in the ECU. You can try the trick with deflating one tire at a time and checking which sensor ID has lowered pressure reading.

    Oh how i wish i had found this video earlier. Now i have a sensor in my wheel that isn't programmed 💀.

    • @DIYtimeTRD
      @DIYtimeTRD  2 года назад

      If you took a picture of the sensor ID, you can still do that. If not, TPMS tools can read sensor ID’s wirelessly.

    So I mounted the sensors on wheels, now I have to disassemble them to write down their series and then I mount them again for vulcanization and then I pair them ?!

    • @DIYtimeTRD
      @DIYtimeTRD  2 года назад

      If you know someone who has it, TPMS tools can read the codes off of the sensors wirelessly:
