Thank you for providing all the info! I just did a 6 hour road trip with my unit and it definitely made the trip more enjoyable. I also took your advice on the ergo trackpad and now the unit is used every day during daily driving. Can't live without it now.

Lol the smoking part, so many people told me about that and I've had my unit for over half a year. This is one of the best mods for the daily driver!
Dude totally. So many people that sells other similar screens say that to me every time they talk to me. Its all I hear them saying when people ask about this screen upgrade. I totally agree and its such a daily driver friendly mod. Never has it smoked but for sure when it does smoke Im going to post about it but it has not. 🤷🏻♂️
I want to get one and concerned about it breaking in less than 5yrs. Haha.. idk if it can withstand being baked in the sun.

Hey, just my 2 cents worth. I bought an Android 10 unit (64Gb RAM) for my IS350 F Sport (in Australia), it also has wired Carplay and Android Auto. BUT for an extra $10 fee (you have to contact them to ask for this), you get WIRELESS Carplay! Much better, no need to plug it in, you can just jump in the car and drive and when the unit is ready it auto-connects to Carplay. Plus the unit itself is much faster, no lag or freezes so far (I've had it for around 3 months also). I am in the process of installing a 360 camera unit to go with it.
Which brand is it? Lexion, YZG, or some other brand ?

Ohhh if you want to adjust the sterring wheel controls, once Qlink pops up, go to settings. You can can reprogram the steering wheel buttons to your liking.
Really Daniel? Dang im going to try this tomorrow then. Are you referring to the reverse button functions set originally?
In my case only the next button works, when i program any others the unit doesn't recognize them.
On certain models the settings for SWC can be found under factory settings (which has a number of extra settings like canbus etc) but you need to enter a code some are 123456 or m123456 or 126 or 3368 but if these don't work shoot a message to the seller they show provide one thats specific to your model
Guys if you're debating about buying it, just ask yourself are you using it mainly for CarPlay or android auto? If that's the case then buy it you will love it but of course it will twitch sometime cause its aftermarket/3rd party unit. If you are planning on using all the unit have to offer such as playing games using youtube or maps on the android side then i suggest you rethink about buying it cause the experience isn't nice but having a 10 inch screen itself is amazing. Just a heads up all sellers sell different type of this unit and will run the same to simliar apps so make sure to ask a lot of question before buying. BUY ONLY IF YOU MAINLY USE CARPLAY/AA.

@@ounkavy the only thing i liked about it was the talk to talk function where i can input the address while driving. But waze and carplay is just a whole other level.
I was planning on buying this not only because the screen is bigger but mainly to play youtube videos while driving. Im andriod user but was curious if its better to use hotspot rather than phone being connected to usb.
@@rigoroman6287 hotspot allows you to use the youtube app on the screen. Plugging in usb to phone will only connect the audio, no visuals.
Nice review! Would you consider trying to retrofit the newer models that already have the bigger screens with Apple CarPlay? I feel like that would be a smoother option but obviously going to be more expensive
It would be a better replacement but there is a lot more pieces to that than just the screen. I believe the whole oem touchpad would need to be replaced, screen , and the whole oem factory navigation computer which is not the oem screen btw. It is that entire section with the cd player and micro sd navigation cars. So you would need to remove all of that and try to fit all of that assuming the oem wires fit the new models.

The buttons work the screen to change, repeat songs from any app. Yeap spotify works. Whatever app you see other carplay systems working with, this one can also handle. I just dont have spotify so it didnt pop up haha. But if u saw the screen there was amazon music and iheartradio. So im sure spotify works

trying to find one of these for is350 2017, iv heard horror stories about these aftermarket screens though, you go through so much issues it ends up pissing you off, i might just get phone holder and spotify car thing and call it a day until someone makes a professional high quality version of this screen

Great review have just fitted a 10.25 screen to my Lexus IS300h. Only had it in 2 days and I love it. I have found if you press and hold the menu button you can switch between the 2 screens. Defo taking your advise and getting a mouse so I can navigate the Android screen. Recommend any app’s to add ?? 👍👍
If you look for a recent video, I managed to hook up a OBD2 Reader to the screen. Its fantastic. The trackpad mouse is not needed but it has helped me so much since installing it. Do you feel a need to add it?

I purchased one of these for my 2014 IS350 and it's been a massive headache. The steering wheel controls don't work and the regular volume knob doesn't work. I actually can't even get any music to play unless it's through bluetooth on the OEM side.
Additionally, the User Experience SUCKS. It takes forever for the carplay to activate and it doesn't automatically activate when you start the car, you have to go through 4 key presses to get it going. Huge regrets paying $650 for this garbage.
What is your model? also you may want to try to access extra setting under factory settings you'll need a password for that mine is m123456 others 123456 or126 or 3368 if none if these work message the seller they should provide it. Once you get access to extra settings you'll find an option call CAN-BUS choose you car make and model then move out of that and look for wheel key study (Steering Wheel Control Settings) and program the keys. Hope this helps
Yeah once he said how long he has to wait for the CarPlay to start It made me consider not getting this. Will more than likely go with the Grom box
If anyone is still watching this video. I needs help. I got a identical system installed with android 10 but the oem screen does not turn on. The only difference my lexus model has the knob kind a mouse. Pls if anyone can help. Just got it installed and planning to uninstall and go back to the OEM screen. (just to note when the dealer tried to re-install the original head unit the oem screnn was not showing info) could there be a software problem? So mad at myself.

This android screen is in my Lexus RCF. It wont be compatible with your RX350 if thats whats youre wondering.

Where can i get the touchpad? The amazon link doesn't work. Do you have any substitutes for that? I feel like it's an absolute must, since the screen is so far away. And lastly, when you do have the touchpad, how do you connect it to the screen?
Connect to the 2 usb dongles from screen. Um if that link does not work, then i am not sure

It may seem a stupid question but you ever try to adjust the Mouse/Trackpad pointer speed for the OEM mouse pad somewhere under settings on the new screen.
I know the Lexion Carplay & Android Auto Display model has that option.

Can the UI be navigated completely through the touchscreen? I see that the ergo TouchPad is extremely useful, but I'm not sure whether I'll be using the TouchPad a lot, if touchscreen is usable.
It helps because i know for myself its a lot of leaning forward reaching for the screen
Is there a way to enable quick boot up/start up on this unit. I’ve seen that some android have this option but enabling “sleep mode” when the car is off.
I dont think there is. Its all based on the tech hardware that it is built with.
I finally got everything working just about right in mine except for the reverse camera. Everything should be hooked up right. Had the setting switch to AV Output and the screen changed to black with the reverse guide lines but no video. Any ideas??
Look for my install video and go to the end where I demonstrate how to get the video to show unless that is what youre talking about already

@@Spinnywhoosh I suggest inspecting all of the pins to make sure they arent bent. One of mine were bend on plugs.
How is the sound quality when playing audio through it ? Is it any worse than playing directly through the OEM bluetooth \ usb ?
Its good. Not bad at all. Not sure why it would sound bad.

Its not noticeable when the unit is on. When unit is off, still not noticeable. If you stare at it then sure minor finger scuffs. Minor though

Itll work as long as you have navi feature. The non navi lexus requires different harness

Yes. If you are using the android screen to go on youtube. You can also do screen mirror off your phone once plugged in

How’s the audio quality? I also have the ML system and I don’t want to lose any quality with audio. And phone calls, can’t use OEM system?
So audio quality is the same since it uses the ML system to play the audio. There is a little speaker that comes with it but it is the size of an echo dot and only is used for android screen navigation speech. It uses the oem speakers for music. If you press answer on the steering wheel, it reverts to oem mic and speaker.
adjust the audio paramater at 60% in the system for not saturated it. The first time it was so ugly in my ML system.
How is it 1 year later? Is this the YZG module as that’s the one I’m considering getting.

You download it with headunit but generally the app is already installed once you purchase this.

I have not tried to play apple music videos thru carplay. If you are able to do it on someone else's carplay system, then it should work here. The camera is the OEM camera and cannot be active while moving forward.

Reverse camera works no issues. Parking sensors ive never seen activate

There is 2 separate wiring. One for car with navi and one without, the wiring is in fact different, Ive seen it. But it sounds like you have the screen working so I don’t have any advice for you other than you may have to delete and reinstall the qlink or autoplay or whatever the carplay access on your screen would be.

@@thehuangbros My radio in my 2015 Lexus 350 RC died with only 23,000 miles. Anger makes me wonder about this lemon part. It runs my GPS screen also. I did read in several community questions, this is common. I can not find anyone who says they can remove the radio and replace it. I do not want to put the OEM radio back in it. Thank you
@@aliciadrummer6174 oem Radio in mine cuts out randomly also but I turn the car on and off and its good to go. There isn’t a replacement system for the OEM radio unit. From my understanding, you can only add to the system, can’t replace.

What is password for car setting
Thank you very much for your time and your video! The unit looks pretty cool but, I might be a little "naive" or somethin, but I prefer putting a little more bucks into a fresher Lexus rather than installing an unofficial unit that hasn't passed the QC tests of Toyota, that has an unknown lifespan, uknown conflicts with other elements of the car, etc. And as you said: "it drains my battery", "you have to install another tochpad", "the music doesn't work", "put the wire here, there", "it's laggy", etc. etc. Just put a phone holder, connect to Bluetooth and you're done 🙂
How do you get the steering control to work on your android unit?
In terms of changing to the next song, I have to press the down arrow on the left side steering wheel controls which for the oem factory would normally be previous song, so it is vice versa for me and my unit that I have. Do you have the same one as I do? Does yours not work?
Yes, I had the same system, but my steering wheel control doesn't work at all.
@@joela1308 interesting. Let me ask this. What car model do you have? I would suggest checking all connections. Im not sure personally which plug but i would check all connects. It can be a bent pin that throws off the signals. Have you seen the terminals before you plugged it in?
I have a 2016 Lexus RCF and I haven't double check all of my wiring connection yet, but I will take your advice and double check again to make sure that there's no bend pin.
@@joela1308 actually troubleshoot it this way first. Go to factory screen and try the controls, if it doesnt then something is wrong but if it works then i guess you will have to go through the troubles unfortunately.
You need to upgrade to Android 11 it has so many of those bugs worked out. The same unit just different android software.

From the first time I provided the link to now, their site has changed the options multiple times. I would simply search for your car and add 10.25 inch android 9 64ram

@@duskino_ thanks. Yeah so i have the 64/32 option with the 1080p or higher. There are some that says 720p idk about that one. But the one I have is 1080p. I think there is a android 10 version out now. Maybe go for that one

It does. Only if you have navigation in it already. Because the wiring is different in the back between navi and non navi. On the site, you should contact the seller to be able to get the correct one. Theyll ask if yours is navi or no navi

Quick question: I’ve noticed when I’m on CarPlay mode, I have to put the audio from my factory unit to AUX. Doing so, my audio does not sound as clean and sounds underpowered. If I unplug my phone and get back into the oem interface, switch it to the cars Bluetooth, my audio sounds much better just like before. I don’t have the ML system but it almost sounds like running it in CarPlay/AUX bypasses the amp or something. Anyone experience this or find a work around??
I left it on bluetooth connection on phone and aux on factory screen during carplay. I had to mess with this yesterday. Im not sure if this will fix your issue but these were my settings last night.
@@thehuangbros That’s how I normally have it but you can tell the audio difference from the factory Bluetooth and the output from the CarPlay/AUX. I’m talking in regards to listening to music, not with call audio quality also.

So in apple car play on the Home Screen. (Where it shows ur music & navigation on the same slide) are u able to switch it from google maps too Apple Maps or waze. Or is that non customizable?
Good question. On the main carplay homescreen, im able to have either of those 3 navi apps. You just have to select it on the left sidebar. You can have all 3 apps on at the same time haha. Ive done that

How’s the call quality with the mic?
I usually press the answer button on steering wheel so that it automatically uses the oem mic. So calls are fine. Afterwards, it goes back to the android screen. I have used the mic on the android before too and its fine. The issue with android for calls is the speaker that comes with it, not that loud. You would have to position the mic away from the android speaker or else the person on other side hears themselves.

@@michaelxiong5395 so the oem screen is not the oem infotainment. The giant cd player and what is behind it is the infotainment system. The new screen is piggybacking off the oem stuff so its the new stuff and oem stuff. You just click the car app on the new screen. Its in one of my android screen videos. Search for huang bros android screen and look for new features

@@thehuangbros I meant under the Lexus forum. I see some of these units you can switch back and forth between the Lexus forum and the android version but under Lexus, it seems to look a bit stretched. If that makes any sense.

Beat Sonics apple CarPlay integration has way less nuance than this. It doesn’t have the larger screen but the amount of special crap you have to do for this to work properly is gross. Besides my steering wheel track up not working once in a while it works flawlessly.

If you can't get facetime to work on someone else's carplay then you can with this.

Oh. Yeah you cannot use that screen as a touchscreen. There’s a reason Lexus put touchpads and mice in as the oem control. That screen is way too far from the driver’s easy reach. It’s far past the plane of the steering wheel and climate controls. And I’m not effing with 2 goofy touch pads especially not with that tiny mouse pointer that doesn’t snap to the icons. Pass until they integrate the OEM touchpad.
The hem touchpad does work. I just added the ergo touchpad for personal reasons. Also it is faster response.
