Watching Wood last season he seems to just not play hard and doesnt have a great basketball IQ. But he is a very good scorer with excellent shooting ability at his size. i feel like Bol & Hayes got the same issue they just gotta put some weight on and get more physical...but that's easier said than done when you're that lanky
Excellent list. The surprise for me is Christian Wood. I've listened to a few smart youtubers dissect his game. Lotta holes. Jackson Hayes, also. Like you, I think Bol Bol is fun to watch. I hope he can fix enough of his holes to stick.
This is Bol's last chance imo. He has everything set up for him to be productive. On offense he'll either spot up or be in lots of pick and rolls/pops. All his pressure will be on defense and boards. He can get blocks but he needs to be a complete rim protector who won't be a liability on switches. If he fades out of the rotation then I think there is no hope for him
Imo it’s not that nobody wants christian woods. Its that fact that teams are probably waiting to see what happens with dame and harden before going all in on him.
Crazy you said Cristian wood can't play because of his defense when the entire Mavericks team doesn't play defense.. that's why they missed the playoffs. Dude was averaging a double double with the rockets.. For him to go from that to not getting pt on a team that missed the playoffs, it's mind boggling
The Grizzlies got rid of Brooks because they know that NO stars would ever play in Memphis.. ESPECIALLY if they had Brooks on the roster 😂 Brooks wants a bigger offensive role. Trust me, Memphis didn’t want him jacking up brick after brick.
That 2016 TV deal gassed a lot of players. Role players making more than MJ ever did. Glad to see players like Christian Wood being humbled. Be happy with your 550k a year my man.

Christian Wood is highly skilled but I wonder if he added like 10 more lbs of muscle if he’d be better defensively as he can box out better, jump higher, and not get bodied as much. Just a thought tho I didn’t watch many mavs games this season so idk why he couldn’t defend
defense is more about instinct and reading formations. you gotta be able to read what the offense is gonna do to put yourself in the correct position which is what a lot of players struggle with
@@saviorofs0ng true I was thinking more rebounding for boxing out. Although muscle will help against post bruisers like Embiid and Jokic. Since he’s shorter he also needs good vertical to play above the rim to compensate for his height
Not gonna lie I don't like Dillon Brooks, but I have to give credit to him during his run with team Canada in the fiba games this year. He shot pretty decently and Is a good defender. Maybe a change in scenery will be good for him to develop emotionally as the grizzlys said they won't sign him under any circumstances which would be a kick in the gut to anyone. I'm still not a fan of him but I do respect his defence at times as I too am a defensive minded player and won't multiple championships with my basketball club as a junior in Australia.

I know that Ayton and the Suns don't exactly see eye to eye but why even put Bol Bol in the picture. I hope Bol Bol ends up being really good for them but i don't see it happening
I haven't seen much actual play for Christian Wood, so stats are about all i know about him. Not just old fashioned counting stats, but advanced metrics look pretty good. What is it with him that teams see and don't like? I've seen players in the past who were lousy locker room presences, but looked great in highlight reels or box scores, so there was always one team that talked themselves into wanting them. Is there something about Wood that their own coaches and fans know that outsiders dont?
Houston lowkey bet on Dillon in a good way if you look at his contract. His salary goes --> 22.6m, 22.2m, 21.1m, 19.9m. Alone a foward salary is great trade value if they play even close to their potential, but on top of that, salary caps go up every year so forward salary is even more beneficial to building teams.
This is probably Bol Bol last chance in Phoenix, he's always said he patterns his game after K.D., and being on the Suns(is he perfect situation)& he will be tested by Durant to see how much does he really want to be in the NBA, and if he fails Bol Bol has no one but himself to blame!!!
Hayes might be a steal if he can be developed. Playing with all those vets, will give him the opportunity to raise his game. If he is will to put in the work.
as a rockets fan wood had his ups and downs, but he couldn’t play a lick of defense, hardly any effort on that end. offensively he’s good but sometimes tries to do too much

I'm a mavs fan and I like Christian Wood. His defense wasn't bad. He got blocks all the time when he was in the game. I didn't understand why he didn't play more. Word on the street that there is some off the court issues
Getting blocks and steals doesn't mean you're good at defending. Hassan Whiteside had a ton of blocks. Kanter did too. Just look at the shooting averages for teams when Wood was on the floor. He was a really bad defender.
Crazy how people where saying Dillion Brooks wouldn't get a contract. The man got freaking paid. He must have a great Agent or Houston just outbid themselves...
Honestly, I think Houston realized that their young prospects are not disciplined on defense and are hoping brooks could solve that effort issue. Maybe that's why they paid him along with the CBA rules being adjusted and all that.
Much as I love Dray and the dynasty, choosing him over Poole was rather foolish. It's good in the SUPER short term prospective but long term it's terrible. Green at 33/34 years old on a 4 year 100 million contract is OUTRAGEOUS AND TERRIBLE! That contract is going to age HORRIBLY! He is a primary defensive player and defensive players as they grow older do not age well. Sure Poole had a off playoffs but hes practically a baby in NBA terms. His potential was huge! @@Identify_As_Right -- Bol bol looks great in highlights. But in the lowlights, he loses focuses. Misses defensive assignments. BUT....for $2-3M/year, low risk-high reward.
Bol Bol should be categorized as a career wild card offensive spark plug like Cam Thomas and C Wood, it's the only thing he's current good at against NBA competition
@@Identify_As_Righthe shot 26% from 3 this season
@@Identify_As_RightBooker, Beal, and Durant are avg defenders. Ayton is above average defender but just lacks aggression, IQ, and heart.
@@Identify_As_Rightyes but we’ve seen guys even in bad systems hit a high percentage. And bol barely shoots them. You can’t reasonably even predict that he’d be good at it on a good team when he’s horrible at it on a bad team
Good video! Glad to see you holding that name (Caine) to a high level. Best, Chad Caine
@1:34 explains it perfectly as you see Maxi Klieber frustratingly trying to tell Wood the proper defensive rotation and Wood just looking lost in the sauce.
Like pause @1:36 and look at both their faces. Wood not even looking at where Maxi pointing lol.
Kelly Oubre should’ve made the list forsure. Still not signed and i think ppl look at him as a 2-way Blackhole now
i feel like Bol & Hayes got the same issue they just gotta put some weight on and get more physical...but that's easier said than done when you're that lanky
He has risen!
Brooks got the Rockets looking like a Contender with his defensive pressure and Memphis playing like the rockets
Excellent list. The surprise for me is Christian Wood. I've listened to a few smart youtubers dissect his game. Lotta holes. Jackson Hayes, also.
Like you, I think Bol Bol is fun to watch. I hope he can fix enough of his holes to stick.
6:05 why jordan poole look like he gon write an essay about basketball at starbucks
If Ben Simmons is in the league with all of his issues. No reason why C-Wood and all these other guys shouldn't get a shot.
Christian wood is way too underrated
#FACTS
This is Bol's last chance imo. He has everything set up for him to be productive. On offense he'll either spot up or be in lots of pick and rolls/pops. All his pressure will be on defense and boards. He can get blocks but he needs to be a complete rim protector who won't be a liability on switches. If he fades out of the rotation then I think there is no hope for him
bro averaged 4 points last season youre delusional be fr
@@ilovedogs313 by saying it's his last chance to prove he can play?
I think this year he’s gonna have a better season I feel he was humble and kno he can quickly be out the league
caine every 3 months upload routine
Imo it’s not that nobody wants christian woods. Its that fact that teams are probably waiting to see what happens with dame and harden before going all in on him.
This video aged like milk
Brooks is killing it at FIBA
HE'S BACK
Dillion brooks and Marcus smart both have the same issues of thinking they can be ball handlers and shooters, just play defense and pass the ball boys
Many NBA players consider Dillon Brooks to be a dirty player. That's probably one reason why many teams don't want him,.
This is exactly what I needed today 🙏🏼
Woods just signed to 2 years deal with the lakers today 😂that’s tuff
Great video.
The thing is Christian still averaged 18 ppg off the bench
if bol bol wasn't 7'2 he wouldn't be in the league rn
If a lot of players weren’t as tall as they are they wouldn’t be in the nba. Kinda obvious right
and if his dad wasnt an nba legend.
I coach at a high school, and I saw a kid wearing a Christian Wood Mavericks jersey a couple days ago.
Great honest take !
In 2K he is really nice. We getting him a ring this season
That 2016 TV deal gassed a lot of players. Role players making more than MJ ever did. Glad to see players like Christian Wood being humbled. Be happy with your 550k a year my man.
Isn’t it funny that you think the players should make less while the owners rake in billions of dollars?
@@michaelyang3910 it's a very weird statement to make 😂
dillon brooks had offers, his value was reported to be about 16m houston "overplayed" 4m, which is not a bad contract for him in houston
As a mavs fan, there's a reason we don't want him n ppl r starting to realize y...empty stats with a negative attitude. Btw dude travels everytime on a catch n shoot
Man sad to see Cwood leave 🙌 he played amazing with Luka and played his role perfectly
as a mavs fan, the fuck? are we watching the same game?
🤣🤣🤣@@nattobaby
NBA 2K legacy players know O.J. Mayo was a BUCKET 🪣 on 2k!!! Him and Rudy Gay were virtually unstoppable! 🤣😂🤣
It was funny when the Suns put the picture of D Book, KD, Beal and instead of Ayton they put Bol Bol in the pic as well. I know that Ayton and the Suns don't exactly see eye to eye but why even put Bol Bol in the picture. I hope Bol Bol ends up being really good for them but i don't see it happening
Ayton sucks I wouldn't be surprised to see bol bol get some minutes
@@greggjohnson5634 Lol 18 and 10 doesn't ''suck'' Tell me you know nothing about B basketball without telling me

A younger Montrez Harrell, better passing but worse defense
Dillion Brooks, the air quality in Houston is just much better than Dongguan. Be grateful
Wood on Golden State Warriors bench with CP3, Moody, Kuminga, and Saric. That is not a bad 2nd unit.
Woods would be a good fit in Miami with Bam and Jimmy
I think he'd be good with and a couple other squads. Boston, GS, and maybe even Philly.
No matter what these guys do..there's always a roster spot for them on the Shanghai Sharks...
Great vid as always!!!!!
Id be happy if the Lakers can get C wood at the min
Heard its an attitude thing with C Wood
This is probably Bol Bol last chance in Phoenix, he's always said he patterns his game after K.D., and being on the Suns(is he perfect situation)& he will be tested by Durant to see how much does he really want to be in the NBA, and if he fails Bol Bol has no one but himself to blame!!!
hes garbage either way
Bol Bol needs to bulk up and play center if he wants a chance in the NBA.
Kidd starting powell over wood is insane. At least he can score and rebound 💀
Christian Wood would be perfect on the Miami Heat.
Hayes might be a steal if he can be developed. Playing with all those vets, will give him the opportunity to raise his game. If he is will to put in the work.
as a rockets fan wood had his ups and downs, but he couldn’t play a lick of defense, hardly any effort on that end. offensively he’s good but sometimes tries to do too much
Poole hasnt been left for dead yet. He's got 4 years of guaranteed money coming his way. Ive never believed in him, but his career is still very much alive.
Dude cant play Defense. We dont want him in Miami Heat.
Bol just needs to be given quality minutes and to play well in those minutes. Or the Suns got him for emergency. 🏀 🏀
he was given quality minutes when he was in Orlando. Dude just isnt that good. If he wasnt the son of an nba legend he would not have even been drafted or given this many chances.
@@alexnguyen1284Son of a legend? Manute Bol was far from a legend. Most kids of nba journeymen/ overseas players end becoming good. Bol Bol was just overhyped cuz what he can do in college at his height. NBA is a different story
Bro uploaded outta nowhere
Bol Bol is set up for success under Vogel’s defensive mind
Woods needs to beef up, like Giannis, his paint presence and confidence will skyrocket and defensive rebounding will improve.
Lol reports were right. He is not a great locker room guy. The fact that he think he's all that answering shaq like that. Kids, like what Andre Drummond said "be a great teammate. I went from 100mil to vet minimum." This guy not gonna last long in the league. Don't care if you are good, attitude goes a long way.
Idc what anyone says about Christian Wood, I think he had AD type potential.
Bol bol was part of the cheesiest starting lineup in nba history tho.
1. Nikola Jokic
2. Jerami Grant
3. Bol Bol
4. Paul Millsap
5. Mason Plumlee
This was a bubble game when murray, and barton were out with covid protocols.
Bad take on Brooks .
Grizz finished second with him as their best defender and their leading shot taker . He was a main and VALUABLE player ..He got paid exactly his value and got a long term deal because of how valuable he is . He was never an over hyped player ..he was the 45th pick in the draft lol. 2nd round pick ….
Heats should grab c woods
Welp woods is now a Lakers
Jordan poole gone be solid in Washington
Brooks got $80mil/4yr.
I think he did well.
I don't think him or poole should be on this list.Dillon got a great contract and Poole has the ultimate greenlight. Poole can decide how his career goes with his play during this stint
Surprised you didn't meantion the relationship between Kidd and Stiles. Heard that played a huge role in Woods decline in minutes.
@goobles3991 but they played Powell all the time and he's worst defensively
Idk. I think just didn't like him.
Raising besides Steph and Klay as mentors, his rise could have been huge there. Golden State will regret that very much so in coming time. To get back only a never stay healthy highly overpaid old CP3 lol WOW. Warriors franchise has always been smart since the new owners up until now. Unless somehow this proves me wrong but it don't look good.
Poole will never lead the Wizards to the playoffs.
