Hi, thanks for your question. FYI you can purchase "custom" domains from Wix (e.g. yourdomain.com) outside of a plan, but you won't be able to link it to any Wix website without a premium plan. It will just be registered. The domain format that comes with a free plan (your-account-name.wixsite.com/your-site-name) does not cost you anything. The cost for custom domains (outside of a plan, or after the first free year) varies depending on the extension you choose (.com, .net, .org etc.) We wrote an article in 2021 comparing the cost of Wix domains to another provider, Namecheap, which you can check out here: websitewiz.co/wix-domains-vs-namecheap/ The Wix domain pricing is listed under the heading "How much is a Wix domain after the free year?" You can also download a cheatsheet of all extension types (within the article) to compare pricing between the two providers. Please bear in mind that the info is 2 years old and so pricing / extensions may have changed in that time. Hope this helps! Disclaimer: This comment does not contain business or financial advice. Hi there, no, you don’t have to pay upfront to use PayPal on your website, but PayPal does charge a small fee for each transaction (a percentage of the payment amount plus a fixed fee). To ensure people can pay you: 1. Make sure your PayPal account is set up as a Business Account (you can upgrade for free if needed). 2. Integrate PayPal into your site using their tools, such as PayPal buttons. 3. Test the setup before going live to make sure everything works smoothly. 4. Once the site is deployed and your PayPal integration is correctly configured, people should be able to pay without any issues. Hope this helps! 😊

Nice helpful video, I have 2 questions: 1. Why should purchase of domain name and hosting be separate? 2. If I go ahead to take WIx's cheapest premium plan and get 1 year domain name free, is there any option to buy the domain for 3 years in total (including the first free year)?
Hi, we're glad you found the video helpful! 😃 The purchase of domain name and hosting does not have to be separate. We just tend to err on the side of safety so that if one company is hacked, or goes bankrupt etc. then not all of our products, as in domain name AND hosting, are affected at the same time, causing double the hassle for us. We highly doubt such an event to happen, but we're super cautious. That's all. With regards to extending the license of your domain for 3 years total, it should be possible to purchase an additional 2 years once the first year has been credited to your account for free. However, as per our article listed below, it may be cheaper in the long run to purchase a domain name outside of Wix as their renewal fees can run higher than other providers. websitewiz.co/wix-domains-vs-namecheap-which-is-cheaper/ Hope this helps!

Hi Alexandra, great question! Premium upgrade is valid for one site only. For each site that you have with Wix, you would need to purchase additional upgrades.
Hi Hadjer, you can ‘upload’ up to 50,000 products via your Dashboard. But you can create unlimited products on your free Wix website. Here’s an article explaining Wix’s product limits and quantities: support.wix.com/en/article/wix-stores-limits-recommended-guidelines#:~:text=Product%20Options%20per%20Product%3A%20Each,manually%20or%20by%20CSV%20import However, something to keep in mind is that using a free Wix website means that you won’t have access to their integrated payment checkout system. For this you would need a paid Business plan. That said, you can still display products on your website on a free plan. In this case, we recommend to simply replace the “Add to Cart” button on each product page with a “PayPal” button instead, as per this video: ruclips.net/video/2RGzsYlpOGY/видео.html But if you're planning to set up a large online store with a lot of products, we wouldn't recommend this workaround, as Wix's integrated payment checkout system is a great solution and reasonably priced for what you get. Im looking at starting on the free page just to get my head around things and just to get a page out there, but only if i can upgrade and change my domain when im ready.

Hi Phillip, as far as we know this isn't true. Any free Wix website is publicly accessible by anyone. That said, a free website (with Wix Ads) is not expected to have the same kind of professional look to a potential employer, as a paid one would, with your own domain name.

Hi Tebogo, thanks for your question. If you design your website on Wix and then want to publish your Wix website to your custom domain name, then you will need a Wix premium subscription for that to work. Only paid plans allow you to connect your own domain name to your Wix site. Hope this helps!
Hi Franc, you can have a 'premium Wix account' without linking a domain yet. Linking your domain is a step that can also be done after upgrading. These are two separate actions. However, if you accidentally upgraded and want to cancel, there is the following refund policy on Wix's website: Trial period: When paying by credit card, Premium plans come with a 14 day trial period. Thank you very much for your kind comment! First of all, you need to tell Google that it’s ok for them to index your site. You can turn this feature on within Wix following the step-by-step tutorial here: support.wix.com/en/article/enabling-search-engines-eg-google-to-find-your-site To get found quickly by Google, my personal recommendations are to either: 1. Visit a well-known website and add a link back to your own website on one of their pages. 2. Include a link to your website in a post on a social media platform. Basically, the idea behind doing this is that Google is constantly scanning the web for new content, including new websites, and visits already indexed websites to do this. When it discovers links to new content or websites, it can then index them. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions please comment back. - Tracey
Hey Tracy, so my biggest unsolved question is How do you charge the monthly or yearly paying premium plan cost from your client (if u are freelancing) and is the price we list for designing a site with or without the premium cost, hosting, domain etc.. BTW the video was great..hope u continue
Hi Im Groot 😃 Thanks for your question. Firstly, we aren't financial advisors, so our opinions are just that; our opinions. Please consult appropriate professionals before acting on anything we say. That said, if we were freelancing we would pass on any premium plan costs, and domain registration fees (if you offer that), to the client, exactly as they were charged to us. And charge any "time spent" setting up the plan for them. Whatever your hourly rate is for that. The following Wix blog article has a some advice about how to "choose a pricing strategy" and ways to "take care of your finances": www.wix.com/blog/2021/01/what-is-freelancing/#viewer-diqv4 Are you currently a Wix Partner? Or are you planning to do your freelancing through the Wix Partners portal? These articles cover that: www.wix.com/partners/partner-program www.wix.com/partners/freelancers Hope this helps. Hi Sheethal, When you connect your domain it can take up to 48 hours for your domain to go live, as per this Wix article: support.wix.com/en/article/unable-to-view-your-live-site Some things to check, from the same article, would be: - Is your site published? - Has your domain expired? - Is your domain assigned to a site? - Are your DNS settings correct? How do you charge the monthly or yearly paying premium plan cost from your client (if u are freelancing) and is the price we list for designing a site with or without the premium cost, hosting, domain etc..
The following Wix blog article has a some advice about how to "choose a pricing strategy" and ways to "take care of your finances":

Are you currently a Wix Partner? Or are you planning to do your freelancing through the Wix Partners portal? These articles cover that:

www.wix.com/partners/freelancers
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the compliment! 😃 We will…continue that is.
Can you please raise the music a bit more?
Hi, thanks very much for the feedback. This video has already been edited at the current volume but we'll keep it in mind for future videos 😃
Hi madam I upgraded. Primaim plan. But still not live my website pls help me
Hi Sheethal,
When you connect your domain it can take up to 48 hours for your domain to go live, as per this Wix article:
support.wix.com/en/article/unable-to-view-your-live-site
Some things to check, from the same article, would be:
- Is your site published?
- Has your domain expired?
- Is your domain assigned to a site?
- Are your DNS settings correct?
If these suggestions don’t resolve your issue please let us know.

Hi Priest Devine, that's great to hear 😃 Wix really does have a lot of options for different website needs and their free plan comes with so many awesome features. As you've already got a premium plan, you might be interested in this video we did which shows you how to save on your Wix renewal fees. It's super easy and it can save you up to 50% off your second, third year etc. with Wix:
