Hi Jessica, another fascinating grab of London''s history, never get bored in old London Town. You certainly unearth some wonderful, interesting topics.
FANTASTIC video! I did see the first video, and this is a gorgeous sequel. Must admit, the 'boiled saint' really caught my attention; I live in Tucson, Arizona in the U.S., and our most famous church (St. Xavier del Bac Mission, known as the White Dove of the Desert) contains what *seems* to be the full-body remains of Padre Francisco Kino; it was later proven to be a repurposed lifesized wooden carving of a crucified Christ, but for a very long time (the church was built in 1775) was thought to be a mummy. If you're ever out this way, stop by; the ladies of local Tohono O'odham tribe sells the best frybread with honey in front of the church some days, and they do the absolute best on the planet! Also: COULD you please do a video on pagan vestigial remains in London? Bet that'd go over aces, and I for one would love it. And one about the cats too, please! Have you ever considered doing a video on the *nonhuman* ghosts of London, the spectral dogs, cats, horses, pet hedgehogs and unknown creatures? That'd be *fantastic,* and pretty unique so far as I know.

The DaVinci Code was filmed at Rosslyn Chapel, just outside Edinburgh. I was able to take a tour of Rosslyn in 2016. It is possible that they filmed one or 2 scenes at Rosslyn.
@@TheMuseumGuide ah...ok. I missed so much on my trip to the UK in 2016. Didn't account for all the driving. We made a point to tour Rosslyn and a few other places, but only had time to drive around and take pics of other places. I hope to go back one day, as long as I can get my mobility back up. My son still wants to go to Trinity college (the one in Dublin), but he has had too many expenses here. That was the starting point for our trip.
I find churches, cathedrals, chapels and abbeys fascinating and eerie but none put the hairs on the back of my neck stand up more than St Bartholomew’s the Great church in Smithfield. My brother was a verger there (as well as a doctor at St Bart’s hospital) back in the 70s. It also been used in many a horror film, even a vampire one…
I would definitely watch a video on the masons....anything, really. I have a fascination with historic architecture, and London is chock full of them! I hope to come back one day, but it will depend on having the money and a respite in my mobility issues.
Geoffrey of Monmouth up to his old tricks, proving once and for all that he was medieval England's most 'creative' historian! A video going into some of his mad ramblings and other pagan legends would be great. Have to say that as wonderful as those King Lud statues are, to me they definitely look 16th century rather than anything older. A cat video would also be great (obviously)!
Tell me those horrible punishments are officially off the books. When I was in London Cathedral, Elvis also came to mind. Yes to Pagan London and Yes to kitties!

Strange that Gog and Magog are considered to be "Patrons" of England. In the Hebrew Bible, Gog a descendant of the prophet Joel (1 Chronicles 5: 4) and chief prince of the tribes of Meshech and Tubal in the land of Magog (Ezekiel 38-39) conquers Israel, at the behest of the God of the Hebrews, who had turned away from God. When the Hebrews made penance, God destroyed Gog through natural disasters. In the Christian Book of Revelation 20: 7-10, Gog and Magog are the names given to the evil forces that will join with Satan at the end of time, after Satan is released from being bound for "1,000 years" (not a literal one thousand, it just means a long time, which theologians say is the current time from the crucifixion of Jesus to the present day). When Satan is released, he will rise up against God and will go forth and deceive the nations, which are referred to as "Gog and Magog." The nations of the world will join in an alliance to attack the saints (Christians) and Jerusalem, the city God loves. But God will send fire from heaven to destroy Gog and Magog for a final time, after which comes the Final Judgement. It's interesting that the names somehow became associated with the giants who served as porters at the gate of the royal palace after Brutus the Trojan destroyed their race. It rings of conflated folk t tales.
Geoffrey of Monmouth’s part exaggerated and part made up are accepted as not to be taken too seriously. So how come the bible is not treated the same, because it likely is the same?
Are you advocating for mandating that the Bible be officially pronounced to be a work of fiction? Because that's overstepping the US Constitutional prohibition against Congress making laws respecting establishment of religion. If you're outside the US, that's your business.
