Hello Readers,
It has been a tough couple of weeks. It as if we have fallen foul of Shakespeare’s Mercutio for there has been “a plague upon our house”! All four of us have felt rotten at various points, with me getting it last. I’m starting to feel a bit better now (a week in) but I still have no voice.
Due to all this, I haven’t been able to get in front of the camera to produce a video for today. However, I have seen quite a few content creators putting together compilations of their existing videos by theme. I have often found myself clicking on videos of this kind when they have been suggested to me, so this week felt like a perfect time for me to experiment with creating my own.
I hope that THREE HOURS of Tower of London history will appeal to lots of you. Please let me know if you like compilations because I can make more and put them out in addition to the regular programming, which will resume next week!
You have a lot on your plate! Feel better ❤️🩹
I am praying for all of you! 🙏🏻🕊️❤️🩹
OH, I AM Sorry to hear that...& with a new little to the household I Know that makes it even harder. Momma seems is always the one to Have to hold out to care for everyone else; then @ least in My case...get it worse & be down longer!
Hope you will all be feeling back to your old selves again Very Soon!
I understand that your not much a Religious household, but if it does not offend that I might say a little prayer for you & your familie's health & well being.
Thank You for what you do, the time & effert put into it does Not go unappreciated! 😊
Feel Better Soon! Look forward to seeing you next Friday.
Great use of your precious time. I'll love watching it in bits and pieces in the next week or 2. I remember quite a few of these, but really enjoy seeing them again!
I love compilations like this. I pull them up for gym workouts, or pop in earbuds and listen while I clean the house and I don’t have to worry about hunting down the related videos you mention since they’re right there!
That is why I have been enjoying them too! I’m glad I’m not the only one ☺️
I love them for road trips. Download a compilation and the travel time flies.
Absolutely!!
I adore these long compilations! Thank you so much. I put them on while driving. I never have to touch anything or look at a screen, I can just listen and thoroughly enjoy my drive.
Thank you from Florida USA
Dr. Kat, you never disappoint. Always informative and entertaining. From your welcome, the engaging music to open the episode to your through research and soothing delivery each episode leaves me hungry for more.👑🏰🐘 🦁 🐒 ❤
I really enjoyed this long program. I am wrapping presents alone, I didn't have to keep selecting a new program and this is my kinda jolly.
❤
Thank Dr Kat, you’re the best!
Get well, be merry. Thanks for this treat.
Just yesterday, I was thinking 💭 I wonder if I can find a podcast or video that will tell me all about the Tower of London while I clean my house and bake. You have delivered, ma’am. Much gratitude!
I love compilations like this! It means i can crochet and listen, enjoy and learn all at the same time.
So glad to learn about the tower. It has always fascinated me. Thank you for sharing. ( and for allowing this lazy lady to learn something new wirhout doing the research!)
Loving the content! Merry Christmas to y’all!!
I love compilations ❤, I love listening to Dr Kat, and her presentation ❤
This is fantastic, thank you ❤
Yay! I thought there would be no video this week, and then this popped up. This is awesome! Thank you so much.
Thank you! I have really been enjoying long compilations of various channels' existing content as I've been stuck in my sick bed. The pestilence inspired me to make a compilation of my own... so at least that is something. I have been feeling very sorry for myself 😩
@@ReadingthePast This truly is great! For those of us who haven't been with you from the start, but have been with you for a few years, we may have missed some of your very early videos, and those who are newly joined now have a compilation of all of your Tower videos in one place where we can see all of them in one video. If you are entertaining suggestions on a possible future compilation, I imagine all of your videos on H8 would be much longer than 3 hours, but I would seriously love a compilation of the 6 wives. I have gone back and re-watched some of the ones you have done in the past on them.
Loved this compilation. I've listened while frantically sewing Christmas presents.
This was so good! I watched the first 90 mins while battling insomnia and the second half while cleaning my house this morning. Thank you for this awesome history lesson on a place we all think we know so well.
Fascinating, as always. The length of this story, of just the more popular names, at least, calls to mind horror in the thought of the many names not known, the secrets not told, the people long forgot, in the story of this timely and serviceable construction of stories, stones and blood.
One of my fav places to see when I visited London last May. What an incredibly fascinating city! Beautiful architecture, amazing history and charming people. ❤️ (watching from Georgia USA)
I’m sorry that you are feeling poorly. But I might be a horrible person because I’m also happy that your illness has brought me 3 (THREE!) hours of your wonderful history videos. If you had a Patreon, I would be your first patreonor.
This is a wonderful holiday gift! Thank you 😊 I will be needing this
a three hour long treading the past video?? i must be dreaming!! ❤❤
This is gonna be perfect for when I finally save up enough money to finally get over there. ✈️🏰
This inspires me to do an online/video/ interactive lesson covering the history of our town in Ireland for my students to go through at their pace over the term.
What a perfect thing to find at 2pm exactly when I’m looking for something to get me through the last 3 hours of my work day.
It was lovely, listening in the kitchen while cooking for a family Xmas party. Was wondering how babe is coming along, and how exciting your first Xmas as four will be. 😊 Hope you all feel better in time for Xmas. Xx
This was a fabulous overview of the tower history! Thank you!❤
Compilations like this are excellent! There was an episode or two in there that I'd missed on their initial forms
Fantastic content. So well researched and then presented competently. You are a gem, Dr. Kat
YESSIR! LOVE YOUR CONTENT ❤❤❤
👍🏼 Thank you for this thorough and entertaining compilation of the Tower Of London. I am hoping to visit on my next trip to the UK and I really enjoy learning about the places I want to visit before I go. It’s impossible to soak it all up in a couple of hours when you are there. I very much appreciate the navigation tips you threw in as well.
Thank you for your amazing hard work ans sharing tour talents with us!😃
Your summing up of Ranulph Flambard's daring 'escape' (ahem!) from the Tower was hilarious! 😉
Thank you - a “Towering” and thoroughly enjoyable compilation! Get well to you all.
This must have taken forever to complete! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and insight.
There's no escaping the whole household infecting each other in the winter, but at least you all should be well enough to enjoy the Holidays. Wishing you all a swift recovery and fun celebrations. 🤒😷🤧💊☃🎄
I love these longer videos to go to bed to. ❤ so happy I found this just in time to snuggle into bed and listen , your voice is so soothing. Me my daughter and my mother are going to Disney tomorrow so a good night sleep is much needed for me. ❤❤❤
Thank you. I enjoy the longer ones too
I deep cleaned my oven to this video. Appreciate the learning and productivity!
I love playlists and compilations. Put the headphones on and listen while I work. If I don't want to listen for 3 hours speed you up to twice the speed then all the history of the Tower in half the time. Thanks.
My grand father was a guard of the krays at the tower. I'll look out the pic taken of them with him xx
Perfect way to keep us occupied while you are recuperating 🥰
I hope more future videos are long like this ❤
Thank you for the information 🏰
This is amazing!!
❤ this channel!
I love the long videos! Can you do a similar one of the development of that area of London beginning from the same period? I’m in Virginia and your channel is one of my favorites.
And could you do a video about the different castles used as main residences by all the English monarchs after William the Conqueror?
Hope you feel better soon!
Hi again from Florida Dr Kat 🌞
Hello ☺️
Truly epic!
So interesting!
Would love videos on the Dispensers. Rushing around, hope I spelt it correctly.
Its a well known story round the world
I never made the connection. Diana named her boys William and Harold as did William the conqueror
Flambard sounds a bit like Cardinal Wolsey
💗🙏 🏰
Wtf, that poor woman was killed, and then they let people defile her? Is that really what you were saying? I never saw the original video. That's just some Grade A disgusting bullshit right there.
Blech. On a brighter note, though, thank you for this compilation! There are still so many of your videos I've never seen, and while I'm recovering from surgery today is a perfect time to watch them!
🇵🇸🖤🤎👩❤️👩👨❤️👨🤱🧑🍼

I just saw this about the missing princes: ruclips.net/video/A5Q9rAL_wuM/видео.htmlsi=_snshPzupCLAYdYz
I can see you're not an Oxfordian...
🇬🇧
WHAT DID WE DO TO DESERVE THIS?! 😭🙏✨❤️💕🫅🏰

@ Reading the Past,
2. Things:
1. Why is one of the corner towers of the Tower round but the other three square?
2. If you can find the time, I would like a video of the changing of calenders during time.
When did this start, did different countries have different calenders?
Was it only the popes who changed them or did Kings do it too, and what were their reasons?
It can’t all have been because of science.
And as an informative but also “funny” thing for your viewers you could add, and today ddmmyy you could tell us which date it would be according to the different calenders as you go through them.
The round one has the original spiral staircase that went from roof to basement. In the reign of King Charles II the turret was the temporary home of the royal observatory before it was moved to its current home at Greenwich..
I can definitely talk about this more and the changes to the calendar in future videos. Thank you ☺️
