I own the black dial version of this watch. I wanted to keep the profile low, which meant no bracelet. The kevlar strap is adequate, but I decided to go with a black Crafter Blue FKM strap. With 300m of water resistance, an FKM is more than up to the task. If I could have just one tool watch and get rid of my others, this one would stay for sure. Nice watch, just purchased one. looks good on a nice vintage brown leather strap. Got lucky as the second hand hits all the markers on mine. This is my Pelagos mini.
Lots of Uk dealers will ship to America. I ordered one 2 years ago without issue. Why they instruct Citizen dealers not to ship outside of the UK is beyond me, especially when the watch isn’t sold in any other market. This is a way better watch than the US Promaster Tough which is too big, has poor lume and is Duratect coated stainless steel instead of Super Titanium (Duratect coated titanium).
Correct. US version a rip, shows that US distributor is self interested. I got shot down by one UK seller, was happy to locate a UK dealer that would sell to me. This watch has a timelessness to it design wise- nothing to fatigue the senses over time.
Lots of comments about the size of this watch, I have large wrists too and mine is the original version from about 2000, the monobloc case, titanium duratect coating and Eco-drive has stood the test of time. I bought mine pre owned at it still looks new with only the strap being replaced for a new one. The first version is easily distinguished with the arrow just beneath the Citizen brand and slightly different text arrangement at the 6 o'clock
I have a black dial Tough. It's my " do all" sleeper watch. It's tough, amazing water resistance and looks well on anything and in any occasion. It can be sporty or I it can be worn with business attire ( on it's stock metal bracelet). It is has heritage to this watch. I love it! Nice video. Great watch. Thanks!
I also have this watch. I put it on a Navy Blue Isofrane Strap. Although it was very expensive, it is extremely comfortable. I recommend putting it on an Isofrane. It also matched the dial perfectly.
There amazing watches. I wanted one for ages..I saw one in about 2003 it was the Royal Marines version which I though well if it's good enough for them then it's good enough for me. Ended up with a g shock g 2000 which was a good buy. Fwd 20 years and I saw this gem on ebay for 280 pounds almost brand new. I snapped it up. It's all about the specs. It's a shit hot watch. I work in the construction industry so I need a watch that will take a hammering every day and this laughs at it. Highly recommended from a waych brand that's underrated. Going for the dive promaster jp2000 next. Love it.
I just bought a blue dial full titanium bracelet version, very comfortable watch. So easy to read at a glance. I have a couple of digital G-Shocks, I'm not sure this will be as tough but we'll see
Thanks for the nice review. I've been looking at the black dial version of this watch in a UK site and, although I really like it, I was in doubt about the size and the way it would look on the wrist... Now I know, and I really want to buy it!

I love my all titanium version as well. Fantastic watch! I have another brand new, old stock(2019), never worn, all titanium for sale as well. I bought two back then thinking I was going to gift one to a friend but turns out that friend wasn't into watches...lol. Let me know if you or someone else might be interested. I still even has the paper between the links and buckle.
The only let down of this watch is a strap . Too tight and uncomfortable. Replaced mine with the black nato ,looks fantastic. Great watch very light and durable .
I have a few of these and the first generation, I prefer the first version but these are hard to come by now and expensive. This is still a good watch but not as scratch resistant as first Gen and neither does it have a lovely domed sapphire crystal.
Thanks for the review. I just ordered the bracelet version of this watch mainly because the US marketed Promaster tough is substantially larger. I just don't understand it though. Why do they market a Promaster tough to the US market that adds 2mm to the case diameter and to the lug to lug dimensions?
Amazing review, found your channel because of that mont bell version. I got the one you brought up in this video, early this year, amazing watch. I suggest that you swap positions between the information plate and the keeper. I find that that the only thing that can scratch this watch is the information plate itself, I got some scratches on the case from it. But again it could be me mishandling it because the watch is tough.
Hey Maverick, I recently bought one of these on the strength of this review (I am in UK). Absolutely loving it, though I found the original Kevlar strap a bit stiff so I bought a nicely matching silicone Bison strap. I swapped the Ti buckle and keeper over ...it's wearing well.
There is a new similar watch , promaster land with titanium bracelet available in the USA 41mm. Slightly larger and smaller chapter ring. Considering it. I have the similar BM6400 steel with mineral glass. I like it a lot, but the hands are too thin.

No, apparently they don’t want to sell them. Citizen is run by engineers with a passion for engineering. They have never tried to sell prestige. Being engineers they don’t really know marketing. @@robertkirk4387the Momentum is likely a homage of the Citizen. Citizen has had this design for a couple of decades at least. I have the discontinued BM6400. Very similar. Actually Momentum Atlas is the homage.

I picked up the original Ray Mears second hand 7 or 8 years ago, I paid 480 UK pounds (much more than retail). It was my first sapphire crystal watch, and I fell hard for it. It kicked off an obsession for good watches, and I've got a nice collection today - including several Rolexes, a couple of Audemars Piguets, and others. I'm here to tell you that a Stuhrling POS has no business being featured in the same sentence as a Ray Mears. I still love it, it's still in my rotation, I wore it yesterday in fact.

Great review. Watch boxes are supplied by that country’s distributor, not by Citizen. Buy a Rolex in USA, get a crappy molded plastic box; buy in Geneva get a pigskin box with wood inlay. Contrary to some claims otherwise in this review, this watch is definitely not available out of the UK. I for one would not steer customers to the seller in future reviews. Let prospective buyers do their own legwork. I did contact one UK retailer who told me in no uncertain terms they would NOT sell to me (I live in the US). It would not be good for your viewers if this UK source got in trouble and lost their franchise. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. So glad I became aware of this model. If I had the US model I’d be fit to be tied 😵🤯!! To wit: Heavy SS titanium plated, not solid titanium. 42 mm vs 40 mm dial, WR 200 M not 300M. Same price in the USA for a massive downgrade. I now see the USA distributor in a different light. Oh, and on the USA version, plain Jane dial and no Arabic numerals. No doubt that kevlar strap will outlast the pyramids. BTW, the small sunken date window is purposful: The watch case and a steel plate behind the dial form a faraday cage to minimize magnetic contamination, and the small recessed date window is to minimize exposure to magnetic radiation.
Thanks for the kind words! I do want to clarify a couple of your statements though. 1). I didn't make the claim that this watch was available outside of the UK. There were some comments made by viewers to the contrary but not by myself. For all reading this: *This watch is simply NOT available outside of the UK by an authorized dealer*. That doesn't mean you can't get one, it just makes it harder. 2). As for the UK seller I eluded to in the review I stand by that recommendation as they were fantastic to deal with. I feel it's part of my job in these reviews to help viewers find the watches they love. I don't care about how I, the end user, obtain a watch and will let the seller worry about the implications of selling a watch they might not be authorized by Citizen to sell. And finally I agree with you that the USA version of this watch pales in comparison to this UK version reviewed on the blue strap and the all titanium version I have. Thanks again for the kind words and thanks for watching.
