    This looks a lot like the Royal Marines Citizen or the 2018 Ray Mears. Without the Mont Bell or limited edition printed on it would be an instant buy.

    Evil Random Rob ackshually said it wore _smaller_ than a 40mm, possibly as small as a 37.
    No matter what the watch is, Theodore Bulbasaur will say it wears 0.25 to 0.5mm smaller or larger.

    I’ve been agonizing over finding the perfect watch for me. This watch hits all of them for me: Sapphire, Titanium case, Eco-Drive, Numbers, bright lume. Sold. I did get the nato strap variant though and the coupon code worked. Thanks

    Thanks for this review of the Mont-Bell. I had picked up this exact watch exactly a year ago. So far, the case has held up pretty good with only one minor mark resulted from a pretty hard hit with a piece of equipment in the gym. However, the titanium bracelet is not as robust as the case material and has sustained quite a number of hairline scratches. I have been using this watch as a field watch. Came fall and winter months while on bike paths and hiking trails, I worn the Mont-Bell on the outside of my jacket sleeves by activating the bracelet extension feature. It had work well for me.

    It’s a very nice watch. I not in the market for this, but the black would be more to my liking.
    I actually have the Citizen Promaster Tough Field Watch. It’s stainless, but is also a mono-bloc case. Extremely nice bracelet, and excellent quality for the price. Also, there Eco-drive movements solve quartz biggest shortcoming, no battery changes.

    Love the design on this one Mav. My only complaint would be the mont-bell limited edition font on the dial. It should only have the Mont-bell on the front and the font should also be smaller. The LE should just be on the caseback. The bottom half of the dial is offsetting to me because of this, fix that and I'm sold on its overall looks.

    Great review. This hidden gem ticks all my boxes as a worry free, do anything watch. I'm not bothered by the branding. They didn't relabel an existing design they created a brand new much better looking one. They earned the right to put their name on it. I'm enjoying this watch. Thanks for the coupon code.

    Nice looking watch, but I already have a Promaster Tough (BN0211-50E) with Super Titanium over stainless steel. My Tough is only 10.5mm thick, which is nice in a rugged duty watch, since it reduces snagging. For the same reason, my G-SHOCKs are the smaller, thinner ones.

    Thanks for reviewing something completely different. I love it! I am always impressed how Citizen watches hit those seconds indicators spot on. There are so many (expensive) quartz watches that are hit and miss.

      I am very fortunate enough to own 3 of the original watches correctly called the Ray Mears Watch, I met him at a talk he was giving and he was kind enough to sign them for me, one of them is the limited edition 'Yellowstone' model and one of them has never been on a wrist.
      I was lucky enough to have a friend in the UK distributors who managed to get a rare and original titanium band for it as well (originally Japan market only).
      Just for info -
      Mr Ray Means is a quietly spoken and very polite lovely man.
      The original watch was called the Ray Mears because many years ago he used to wear one on a 20mm NATO strap, he has for many years worn a Rolex Submariner on steel bracelet, when I asked him why he now uses a Rolex he told me (quote) "because they are much tougher than people realise".
      The correct factory designation for the watch he used to wear is AP0600-01E.
      Originally the case size was much smaller and marketed as 'Duratech' said to be 4x harder than titanium alone.
      The original model was also only 200m Air Diver water resistant.
      And they are powered by a Panasonic 920 capacitor and they do go down and need replacing after a few years.
      I will be selling 2 of my Ray Mears Watch soon but any info or help you need just ask and email me on a.p.b@sky.com
      Hope this helps.

    7:25 Actually, I found the teal lume on my BN0200 to last longer than my SKX013, Monster and SNXS79 from Seiko. And I saw a lume battle on RUclips where it won against a Seiko diver as well. Only lume that lasted longer than it was an Orient Star Diver. But it's completely right that it isn't as bright initially, but it's the best I've owned when it comes to lasting long, even when charged from relatively dimmed light. Which is a characteristic I appreciate a lot.

    Aw jeez - you see "Limited Edition" on everything these days. Like that's supposed to make it special. Let's see - how about Limited Edition toilet paper! I'm with everyone else here...no need to have this printed.

    Great review. Thank you. I've been putting my Eco-Drives in the backyard once or twice a week for direct sunlight to "juice them up." But is this harmful? What's the best way to keep them fully charged? Is ambient indoor light enough?

    • @maverickwatchreviews
      @maverickwatchreviews  4 года назад +4

      Hi Jeff, direct sunlight is the preferred and fastest way to charge any solar watch. But make sure you don't place a watch where it's going to get hot. It being Winter this shouldn't be a problem if you place a watch outside. Incandescent and flourescent will get the job done but will take MUCH longer.

      @@maverickwatchreviews Good to know. I don't want to fade the dial. Perhaps moderation is the key. No more than an hour in my backyard. Thanks.

      www.timechant.com/products/solar-watch-charger-coolfire-deluxe-charger-for-casio-citizen-and-seiko-solar-watches-csc01
      Amazing Device that will cut your charging time. Also very safe as there is no heat. Cannot recommend it enough. Of course you won't be using it everyday because once the watch is charged and worn regularly it will most likely stay topped off.

    hello sir, is there any standard version of this watch that don't collaborated? what model is it?

  • @oes2546
    @oes2546 10 месяцев назад

    Absolute perfection yes. It's just that the bezel and dial is so ugly! However, this is dampened a bit on this blue version vs. the black and off-white one. Also, the dial and handset is a lot more atractive in the new BN0241, that seemingly is the newest iteration of this watch. However, that watch doesn't have as nice finishing as this (it seems to all be bead-blasted), as well as being larger and overly thick at 14mm, but most importantly, it doesn't have an extension clasp. So I think I'm ending up with ordering one of these in blue anyways.

  • @gray_space_alien
    @gray_space_alien 4 года назад

    Looks like an honest to god milled clasp and a very cool divers extension....nice.

  • @oes2546
    @oes2546 4 года назад

    Just about the perfect watch for me. I wish I found out about it before I bought my Certina DS Action Precidrive. Very similar watches really, except the dive bezel, dial and movement. But I'd take a solar movement over an h.a.q. battery one, and this has utterly superior lume if my Promaster BN0200 is anything to go by. (Swatch group Superluminova is really poor compared to Promaster lume). This is also a much more unique design as far as I can see.
