My childhood unfortunately was very short due to my parents divorcing when I was 9. While everyone else writes about how they miss their childhood, this song reminds me of the little boy who just wanted love from both his parents- in a way he could understand, instead of having felt like a burden all the way up until college. I try to imagine my younger self in my minds eye and pick him up and walk with him to the cemetery in town where my grandmother is now buried. We’re both sad, but he looks at me and realizes that he has me, and that’s more than enough ❤. Because loving me, means I love him back 1,000x more for everything he couldn’t do, wasn’t allowed to do, and wasn’t able to express from a young age. At almost 30 years old, I urge younger people in their late teens to early 20’s to please look inside yourself and give your inner child that love he/she deserves. ❤

This brings back many childhood memories, when i was a kid everything was easy and full of color. But now i feel empty... Really empty.. This song also reminds me when i was in 1st grade, when i was loved, when everything was fun, when i had alot of friends. Why did i grow up so quickly? This video brings me so much nostalgia. It reminds me of an early summer morning around 6 am and I would JUMP out of bed and run downstairs to see no one but one of my brothers. We would watch Saturday cartoons allll morning until everyone woke up and then I would go outside and play with my neighbors I grew up with. We would be outside for hours!!! Jumping on the trampoline, playing soccer, going to the park, reservoir, etc. we would stay up super late and have bonfires and play man hunt or even sometimes ding dong ditch lol. Just being a kid is something so special. Now I’m 22 years old and my parents are selling the same exact house because all of us kids are moved out. I am still here but planning to leave in a few months. My neighbors were a family of 6 and i was super close with the 3 younger brothers. I’m still friends with them to this day. I think it really hits me hard because i realize I’ll never relive those moments. They are all just memories and that’s it. I used to always want to grow up because i thought life was too hard. And now i wish i never grew up. It breaks my heart to see my parents get old 😢 i hope someone can relate to how i feel.

Im 29, and about to turn 30. I was 19 when my nephew was born, he’s now 10. Now I have another nephew who’s 7 months old. My parents are nearing their 60’s at 58 years old. My grandfather is still with us at 86 years old. Unfortunately, time stops for no one, but we will see them again in time.

September 3rd, 2016 I would wake up every Saturday at 10:00 am, I would be the first person awake looking thru the cabinets to get someone’s attention to get breakfast ready I was silly back then I mean what do expect we were all like that. I enjoyed having quality time with my family, it was my siblings and my dad. My dad worked his hardest to make it the best for us. I loved spending time with my dad, just smelling the fresh air and hearing the birds with my dad bringed so much joy to me you had no idea. He would take me and and brother to 7/11 to get slurpees I was the happiest six year old when it came to my dad buying us that. He would also take us to the park :) I missed those days so much remembering chilling at my dads place. Every time I hear this it brings me how much joy I had spending time with my dad and much he lent during those time just by typing this I’m tearing up. It’s July 6 2023 1:28 am, I’m 12 now but it hurts just like everyone rn we all wished we had our life back but..here we are. But yeah I’m just crying rn missing my dad..haha- I love you dad. I was in care growing up. Matured far too fast for my age and my childhood was pretty much based on survival amongst the other kids I lived with in the home. What memories I do have of living with my parents aren’t fond apart from one I can recall. I was about 6 or 7 I woke up and our cat was purring on my chest, my bed was under the window I remember it was summer and the sun was up and shining in the beautiful blue sky and the first thing I heard other than my cat was the sweet coos of a pigeon that was sat on the roof above my window. This song and the bird instantly took me back there. Before going into the fray, there was peace and I’d give anything to go back and comfort my younger self and tell him that despite the hardships he’s about to face, he’s gotta be able to love himself even if no one else does. Never thought I’d cry leaving a RUclips comment but here we are, a small glimpse into the mind of a man failed by society and grew up in a broken system that still pays for it today at 31 years old.

*tw vent* When I was little I used to hear the dove every time I woke up did my school work in 2-3 hours since I was homeschooled run outside and listen to the birds and play with my older sister and brother then go in to eat some shaped macaroni and carrots as fast as we could so we could go back out....as I get older me and my siblings drifted apart the birds went away and everything was so quiet...yet loud. All the little moments I try not to take all for granted so I put out a bird feeder go out and listen and the doves, chicidees, robens, mockingbirds there all back and finally I have some closure. My childhood unfortunately was very short due to my parents divorcing when I was 9. While everyone else writes about how they miss their childhood, this song reminds me of the little boy who just wanted love from both his parents- in a way he could understand, instead of having felt like a burden all the way up until college. I try to imagine my younger self in my minds eye and pick him up and walk with him to the cemetery in town where my grandmother is now buried. We’re both sad, but he looks at me and realizes that he has me, and that’s more than enough ❤. Because loving me, means I love him back 1,000x more for everything he couldn’t do, wasn’t allowed to do, and wasn’t able to express from a young age. At almost 30 years old, I urge younger people in their late teens to early 20’s to please look inside yourself and give your inner child that love he/she deserves. ❤

This brings back many childhood memories, when i was a kid everything was easy and full of color. But now i feel empty... Really empty.. This song also reminds me when i was in 1st grade, when i was loved, when everything was fun, when i had alot of friends. Why did i grow up so quickly? This video brings me so much nostalgia. It reminds me of an early summer morning around 6 am and I would JUMP out of bed and run downstairs to see no one but one of my brothers. We would watch Saturday cartoons allll morning until everyone woke up and then I would go outside and play with my neighbors I grew up with. We would be outside for hours!!! Jumping on the trampoline, playing soccer, going to the park, reservoir, etc. we would stay up super late and have bonfires and play man hunt or even sometimes ding dong ditch lol. Just being a kid is something so special. Now I’m 22 years old and my parents are selling the same exact house because all of us kids are moved out. I am still here but planning to leave in a few months. My neighbors were a family of 6 and i was super close with the 3 younger brothers. I’m still friends with them to this day. I think it really hits me hard because i realize I’ll never relive those moments. They are all just memories and that’s it. I used to always want to grow up because i thought life was too hard. And now i wish i never grew up. It breaks my heart to see my parents get old 😢 i hope someone can relate to how i feel.

Im 29, and about to turn 30. I was 19 when my nephew was born, he’s now 10. Now I have another nephew who’s 7 months old. My parents are nearing their 60’s at 58 years old. My grandfather is still with us at 86 years old. Unfortunately, time stops for no one, but we will see them again in time.

it’s 2016. i wake up and pick out my “ big girl” outfit all by myself. i walk downstairs and my big brother picks me up. i’m greeted with good morning hugs form my family and the sweet taste of waffles. the chirping sound of the mourning dove makes me laugh. i got outside on my back poarch and play all day with my brother. we then move to the front yard because the one in the back is too small. we ride bikes for hours. my mom would walk beside me as i slowly use the wheels. my brother is speeding down the street with my dad. life is good.

I would wake up every Saturday at 10:00 am, I would be the first person awake looking thru the cabinets to get someone’s attention to get breakfast ready I was silly back then I mean what do expect we were all like that.
I enjoyed having quality time with my family, it was my siblings and my dad. My dad worked his hardest to make it the best for us. I loved spending time with my dad, just smelling the fresh air and hearing the birds with my dad bringed so much joy to me you had no idea. He would take me and and brother to 7/11 to get slurpees I was the happiest six year old when it came to my dad buying us that. He would also take us to the park :) I missed those days so much remembering chilling at my dads place. Every time I hear this it brings me how much joy I had spending time with my dad and much he lent during those time just by typing this I’m tearing up. It’s July 6 2023 1:28 am, I’m 12 now but it hurts just like everyone rn we all wished we had our life back but..here we are. But yeah I’m just crying rn missing my dad..haha-

this reminds me of that time in summer 2009 when a baby mourning dove fell from its nest and survived. it was my priority to keep it safe. i was the one who watched it spread its wings for the first time and soar into the sky. whenever i hear a mourning dove out my window, i think of her
I was in care growing up. Matured far too fast for my age and my childhood was pretty much based on survival amongst the other kids I lived with in the home. What memories I do have of living with my parents aren’t fond apart from one I can recall. I was about 6 or 7 I woke up and our cat was purring on my chest, my bed was under the window I remember it was summer and the sun was up and shining in the beautiful blue sky and the first thing I heard other than my cat was the sweet coos of a pigeon that was sat on the roof above my window. This song and the bird instantly took me back there. Before going into the fray, there was peace and I’d give anything to go back and comfort my younger self and tell him that despite the hardships he’s about to face, he’s gotta be able to love himself even if no one else does.

When I was little I used to hear the dove every time I woke up did my school work in 2-3 hours since I was homeschooled run outside and listen to the birds and play with my older sister and brother then go in to eat some shaped macaroni and carrots as fast as we could so we could go back out....as I get older me and my siblings drifted apart the birds went away and everything was so quiet...yet loud.
All the little moments I try not to take all for granted so I put out a bird feeder go out and listen and the doves, chicidees, robens, mockingbirds there all back and finally I have some closure.

people say i’m too young to experience this but i’ve grown up around my way older sisters and shared everything with them. i still remember waking up on a hot sunny day in first grade bright and early to spend the day outside. now in seventh grade, when i’m still supposed to feel like a child everything feels so rushed. i still wished i had the same joy to go to school as i did back then. i honestly feel bad for our next generation. they will never experience pure joy

I cried this whole video my childhood was so short lived and robbed from me. I’m still on this earth to show my future children how good of a father I could be. Give them the childhood they deserve and every child deserved/deserves. My heart is broken now but I know one day I’ll be a proud dad and God willingly my future kids will be proud of their dad
Waking up on the weekends with the sun shining though your window, it’s a beautiful day! You hear the birds sing out your window and the air feels clean and you can hair the wind going though the trees. You notice the smell breakfast being made in the kitchen and they made your favorite meal, you take your breakfast to the living room and watch Saturday morning cartoons and later on that day you go outside to play without a care in the world.

I listened during the first minute and I remember a memory, I was 13y with my neighbor and my little brother to a fast food near my house. It was a good day i finished school, the sun rised, don't have any stress or fear about my future just chilling with my brother to a place for kids. (period between 2015 and 2019 miss me so much) 😖
This reminds me of my childhood where life was still so shitty but it didn’t matter cause I was a child I didn’t have to care even if it hurt me, I didn’t care but now that I’ve grown, it’s the only thing I seem to care about about how it made me the person I am today and how it affects my today and future life and yes it’s up to me on which path I choose but it didn’t seem like I really had one so I went with this one and now I don’t know where I am. I’m lost. I’ve been lost for nearly 18 years and that’s what hurts me, I’m only not even 18 yet and I’ve lived through this many experiences and now I’m going into the adult life I have a lot of things to do and think and say and do and i don’t even know I’m just scared to grow, as a child I couldn’t wait to grow up but now I wish I was a child again. Why is it that the people that should be protecting us hurts us the most? I know I’m not the only one going through life and all that but I really didn’t deserve any of this and I really don’t want to hold on any longer.
