When Roxxane and Megamind fight, Megamind says “I can explain” and in the background you can see his picture written “no you can’t”, genius visual storytelling/easter eggs
I love that this underrated masterpiece is finally getting the attention it deserves. It lampoons and deconstructs the superhero genre the same way _Shrek_ does with fairy tales.
...and the way the "Enchanted" duology does with the animated Disney formula.

When it comes to the spelling of Titan/Tighten we see that Megamind spells it Titan when roxanne sees the paper on the string revealing Megaminds plan. My thinking is that Hal is just so stupid that he doesn’t know how to spell his superhero name
I kind of wonder why he was _gven_ his name, rather than choosing it for himself…
26:04 its actually both spellings if you saw she saw titan and he spelled it tighten with fire and i believe the subtitles will change it back and forth every time a character says it
This is one of my favourite animated movies. So underrated.

Hal spelled "Tighten" rather than "Titan" because he isn't very bright. Ben Stiller voiced Bernard as well as executive producing this.
About Roxanne trusting and choosing to be with Megamind at the end-
I mean yes, he lied; but, in another sense… he was being his real self for the first time: the self he wasn’t really allowed to be, in his own person. Therefore the deception of being someone else was the only option he felt he had open to him, the only way he knew of in which he could be who he wanted to be, who he truly was, and not stuck in the role of the Bad Guy anymore.
…I think Roxanne understood that. And I also think she knew him well enough from all the previous kidnapping encounters to recognize where the change in him was coming from, and what it meant.
So while you are right that trust does take time to build (even longer to repair), and even if yes, maybe it was a little rushed, due to time constraints- in the final analysis, I don’t find it so VERY far fetched.
Oh- and about Titan / Tighten - I think MegaMind meant it to be the first, the one you (and all of us) thought it was; and Hal just misspelled it because he didn’t know his Greek mythology.

Megamind did react to seeing Metro Man alive, he was arguably more upset than Roxanne

Probably algorithmic and plus I am pretty sure this reaction has like 10-15 mins more content than the first one
something that i didn't think about when i first saw this film as a kid is how the differences between Megamind and Metroman isn't just about how your upbringing shape you, and how you can change despite said upbringing, but can also allude to racism. Metroman looks like a normal kid, while Megamind is clearly an alien, but it wasn't until he disguised himself as Bernard that he was able to freely act like himself. Act like himself in the sense that he didn't have to keep up his image as a villain, and simply have fun with Roxanne. 🥲
