I've been using braid on my reels since Spiderwire came out back in the 90s. Now all my walleye, pike, catfish, and laker reels all have braid on them. No memory, instant hook sets, and the line can usually stay on for a few years or more depending on use
I actually just ordered some Spiderwire braid, for a striped bass trip! What a coincidence!
Literally just helped me win an argument with this one man! Love the tips!
Dear brother, that was the best of all tutorial videos on fishing with a braided line. Thank you so much for enlightening me and all other learning Anglers
I use piscifun braided 30 pound and i absolutely love it!
True and I agree!
Coming from a braided user here.It gives more sensitivity.
Great explanation of the benefits of braid dude. Keep the vids coming!
Another good fishing tip bro 👍🏼🐟🎣.
I love using the Piscifun Onxy Braid 🤙🏼🍺
THANK YOU!!!!! You are one of the few that even KNOW that Floro STRETCHES. I hear person after person say Floro doesn't stretch
The one is other thing is that ite Doesn't recover like Copoly or Mono.
I love my braid on spinning setups and topwater
Great informal and entertaining video; straight to the point.
Thank you for your tips I have just recently started bass fishing and with your help I'm doing fairly good
james wilson awesome buddy glad to hear it!
I totally agree with this ! Great information!
Elegant Tile & Marble Co. thank you!
Keep on keeping on!!
Great info Jason !!👍👍😁
I have braid on most of my setups. Great sensitivity
I love these videos man and to be fair all your content is amazing
Excellent video! Great information! Cheers!!
Thanks for the info!
Excellent explanation. Many videos say to use braid but not WHY like this.
Great video. Thanks man
Thanks..gonna try with the swivel and see if that helps.
I’m getting a new rod for Christmas. I’m grabbing some braided line for the spring. 👍
90% of the time i run brade to leader! Thanks jason for this great info ! One of the best!
Get rid of the leader and just fish the braid. I guarantee you you’ll catch more fish!
I came from TikTok great tips thanks 😊.
i am a begginer thank you for showing me about braided line
Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the tips
Thanks for the tip I love you
before your tiktoks i never fished for bass and now I have confidence and love it
Heathen Biscuit that’s awesome 👏
Thank you for the explanation.
Thank you for watching
Love the video!😁
Great information
Now I am just an 11 year old who loves fishing with my whole heart, and would never want to be negative to any other anglers, but I would like to say that mono has had no memory for me when I get month old from shelves, and for reason 3, I personally have had same stretch for mono as for braid. If I am wrong because I wasn’t watching the video and heard mono instead of floro, then I apologize. Remember, no hate to any anglers or braid has gone into this comment. Keep fishing!!!
Rippin Lips TV maybe you’re using a different Braid buddy; but 99% of braid is no stretch and mono has super stretch. Mono is softer than flouro and flouro does have worse memory.
Alright.
I haven’t ever really used braid, so I am not going to argue that. Just trying to keep fishing positive!
Thanks from Mauritius bro 👍👍
Just switched my panfish and walleye rods from mono to braid this year and I'll never go back. Sooo much more sensitive, strong and really drives that hook home on hooksets.
Love braided line..... but mono always has its place! Usually run braid with a fluorocarbon leader for walleyes!
Get rid of the leader and just fish the braid. I guarantee you you’ll catch more fish!
Can’t wait to use this on my birthday fishing trip, hopefully I catch some hogs!
I bought some onyx it’s it’s amazing
tanx for ur tips
You’re welcome!
I always use braid with a fluorocarbon leader when I fish for trout but I switch to a monofilament leader for bass etc. After watching this video I may experiment with straight braid when bass fishing. I should have better hook sets. Great video.
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Get rid of the leader and just fish the braid. I guarantee you you’ll catch more fish!
@@slowjamcdubthanks for your comment! I am struggling with the idea of using straight braid. Seems most of these line videos recommend using leaders to ensure invisibility. Some claim it helps the action as well.
Most if the waters I fish have visibility between 1-3 feet. I would appreciate it if you could expound on your practice and experiences using straight braid. Where and what, if you use high vis braid, and if you ever color the first few feet with colored markers or anything like that. It would be most appreciated. Thanks!
I don't know if you have made a video on which braid line is the best to use on the market but I personally would appreciated if you would. Or reply back with your answer.
I love your TikTok your my idol

Sports and gaming bros maybe we can go
Piscifun omg
Piscifun You are my favorite RUclipsr and TikToker
Nice!
Alberto/Albright knot for me!
Can i ask you which is the better braid between the lunker or onyx from piscifun?
I use straight braid on everything no matter how muddy or clear the water is and haven't ever had a prob
Come fish Lake Michigan in spring for smallmouth, you’ll change your tune really quick lol
@@Piscifun lmfao
Been fishing for a while but never really used braid, I’m pretty much only a bass fisherman, and is braid good for an all around set up on a casting rod like if I wanted to throw a Texas rig, a jig, a spinner bait and maybe like a buzz bait, do I need to use a leader? If so do I need a fluro or mono? I’m just a little confused and would like some feedback if possible, thanks
Do you lose any of that sensitivity or hook set power when using a fluorocarbon leader? Haven’t tried braid yet, but strongly considering it. Thanks for all the great tips.
Matt McCune very little if any is lost 👍
Hi Sir the Sellers on selling Nylon they say nylon have low stretch & I have the new Penn VI 6500 Live Liner Fishing Reel & I'm tossing up to use nylon or braid & the rod I've got is a Shimano 10 kg boat rod & has stainless steel guides on this rod & I'm worried about braid cutting it stainless steel guides & most of the time I have fished with 25 pound main mono line & 50 pound leader I see on AliExpress Stores I have seen some good mono line & good braid line as well Kind Regards Peter
OK, so braid is superior to fluorocarbon because you don't want stretch in the line. Use fluorocarbon leader on the braid which stretches. Something seems to be quite strange in this scenario.
There’s a large difference in stretch with a 3’ leader to a 20’ mainline.
Get rid of the leader and just fish the braid. I guarantee you you’ll catch more fish!
For soft plastics - what size braid and what size leader for baitcaster? Also, how long is your leader? Thanks!
Jason Bragg usually use 30lb braid to 15lb leader 3’ leader
I know ppl that caught 14 lbs bass on braid I tried it over yr ago when the big bass would hit it wouldn't hook them
Do you use a mono backer for the first few yards of line on the reel to prevent the braid from slipping on the reel? I recently purchased your Viper x reel and noticed the textured surface on the reel, so maybe no backer required?
The texture means no backing required ;)
Hello sir braid line who is the best coler
Learn the FG knot. It is much smoother running through the guides!
What lb braid for a ultralight set up was using 4lb mono but wanted to try some braid out
8lb braid
I can see the that braid has no stretch ,but World Records were caught on Mono per IGFA.
Mono guy gonna give it a try.
Stretch isn't always bad.
How long of a leader you recommend on the braid? All i use is braid. Also a tiktok follower love the content.
tim cooper thanks a lot! If I’m Dropshotting I do about 6-8ft if I’m doing anything else about 3ft
Do you have to run a backing on braid on a casting reel? Or can you just run straight braid
No backing needed :)
So would it be good to use braid with no lead on any lure . And is it good around underwater logs and stumps with no lead.
Braid is great around soft cover like wood and vegetation
@@Piscifun ok thanks
Anything with a Treble Mono, Braid for everything else lol
I hope to run the translator in the next videos
Love your channel but since braid came in am I catching more fish? No to be honest, have been fishing for over 45 years and have caught literally thousands of fish using mono. I like braid for certain applications but yeah it's not the be all and end all.
James Calley absolutely agree there are some
Situations where other lines are better
“Hey I use that braid”
*notices I’m watching piscifuns RUclips channel*
“Oh…”😭😭😭
What to use for salmon?
LuckyGo13 depends how you’re fishing them what’s the scenario
How long is your fluorocarbon leader? Great video
Usually 2-3’ but 6’ for Dropshot
Get rid of the leader and just fish the braid. I guarantee you you’ll catch more fish!
Hey I bought one of your reels can I ask for a refund if it’s bad
What is a good hard bait
Depends on what depth you are wanting...topwater, actually has plenty options but some of the classics can always do well, it's why they are around still. The Arbogast stuff can work great, from the hula poppers to the Jitterbug. Heddon is also another great choice for top water, going deeper its tons of options across the board for jerkbaits.
KruptFN. CrankBAIT
Do you use a mono backer at the base of the reel?
It helps, but you don’t always need it. Some reels have a texture spool that allows direct
Tying of braid.
@@Piscifun Do the Carbon X reels have the texture spool? I have two coming in the mail and am wondering if I should use a backer or not for these reels. If so, how long of a backer and what pound test is recommended?
@@DrMikaelJohnsonDCLakeVilla they do but the braid must be tight or It will slip. I’d recommend any poundage 10-17 and do about 10 wraps
Hi
are you that guy from tiktok?? lol
That’s me!
Braid is a solution to problems that never really existed. Don’t get me wrong, I use braid on spinning gear that I use with live/cut bait. But that’s it. Mono is spooled in every other reel I have and has been for the past 36 years. Never failed to set a hook with it unless I just wasn’t paying attention. If I just started fishing and listened to 99% of the information out there I’d think that it’s pointless to use anything but braid. The stretch and memory issue with mono is too often overly emphasized and the issues with braid are always understated. Braid has its uses, but it isn’t the end all be all do all of lines. Just my experience.
Fair enough, in my opinion the low stretch and sensitivity properties of braid outweigh any downfalls of it.
I've always used baitcaster with mono. Am 61 yo old. Never used spinning gear, but recently decided to start trying crappie fishing. I spool reel correctly, but I get line twist and coils jumping off reel. Its frustrating. Going to try braid, never had issues with mono on baitcaster but spinning, I hate it.
its always hard to go... i think its a good video but.. so but.. just keep it to the pros and cons. if your gonna use braid it does have some cons.
Not a whole lot lol
@@Piscifun not a lot but the price and the stretch.. you can tair a fish up if you handel it incorrectly. EU style, we throw most of our fish back
@@MR-Wodahs-NL braid has very little stretch at all the least between the 3 main lines used and have never had any problem CPR fish using braid, I catch and release 99% of my fish.
Let's not forget reason #4! Line diameter. If you troll, long line, or try to land lunkers on lighter line, you can pack a lot more small diameter braid on the same spool where you have half as much mono.
Chris Purcell that’s a great point and very true!
Sponsored by the United States Braid Association of America...😂😂😂
#Mono4Life😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
@@Piscifun It is just a "me" problem... I don't have the finese to handle braid... it's a guaranteed bird's nest and 30 minutes of frustration, so I keep it simple with mono... I simply need more experience to handle braid...
this dislikes are from the fish
How about the BIG reason why you CAN'T use braided line??? - Micro Guides!!! The whole industry has screwed us all!
