For those who are making this in 1.20.1 where the water breaks the gantry shaft, just break 3 mechanical pump next to the 3 gantry shafts and replace it with cobblestone to block the water. It worked for me

@@Triobian The gantry carriages are only able to clip-destroy blocks that appear inside them, otherwise, they'll be stopped by the first block they touch. This setup requires two gantries because the frequency of the system is so high that the mod is actually configured to break parts when they experience too many changes, so the load is essentially split across two gantry systems to bypass that.
works like a charm, great build! I wanted to use drills but they just don't work for generators of this scale. It's a shame drills don't have integrated gears like mechanical crafters do, that way you'd be able to collect items with hoppers underneath.

Update for those in 1.20: Create has recently made a change in the code that patches almost any farm that used entities like this to break cobblestone, as per the changelog: "1.20: Fixed some blocks incorrectly treated as non solid" Doesn't say if this was on 1.19 or not but i assume its not as most developers only try to update the latest version with major updates, this update was made on 9/21/23, any cobblestone farm I've made that abuses this feature just doesn't allow cobblestone to form, and water will flow right through the block as well
Yea so I found out that it's specific to 5.1.e. I'm told it's actually a bug from a typo, so it should work in f again. Though I obviously don't know till it comes out
EDIT: don't worry, i checked and i'm on 5.1.e so that's why does this work on servers? i made the large one on a create server with a few more mods installed (all unrelated to create except S&A, nothing to change vanilla), and we're running it on aternos forge 47.2.1 for 1.20.1. no cobblestone generates, the lava particles fall and water appears and disappears a bunch, but nothing generates. i had to manually add water, and i flipped all the pumps to be facing down because they were the wrong way. theres one bucket of lava in each tank and everything seems to be connected. the gantry shafts on the side dont break as others describe
My main concern with these kinds of Cobble Generators is that on servers, or on weaker computers, they can be a major source of lag. Just something to keep an eye on. While slower, there are situations where it's arguably better to have a more standard cobblestone generator that uses drills running at 96 or more RPM.
@@Szkoski literally while the machine is running, every time parts move, every entity made when a floor of cobble is broken, it all adds up and it adds up a lot on weaker servers or computers. Remember, just vanilla minecraft can cause lag issues with enough mobs and hoppers, this is that dialed up to 11.
I appear to be having an issue where the lava and the water go through, and the mechanical pumps are "grinding" the lava up into shards that are falling with the water, but it never makes any cobblestone. I followed the instructions when I downloaded the schematics on starting it up, and the machine runs, it just isn't outputting any cobble. Running on 1.20.1, Valhelsia 6 modpack for clarification
Thanks a lot for this, such an amazing design! I built the small one in Create Astral and it works like magic. For anyone like me who doesn't have access to BRASS yet, what i did was replace the brass funnel with a hopper with 2 andesite funnel connecting on both sides, and it still works! (at least for the SMALL version)
I'm also playing Create: Astral but I never get any cobblestone to form. I even tried the schematic in a creative world and could not get it to work. I noticed Create: Astral uses Minecraft 1.18.2 and Create mod 0.5.0g. Are these the same versions you're using?
If I recall correctly, when a pump is rotating at 4 rpm, it can pump lava particles, and when the come in contact with water, cobble is generated, blocking the flow of the pump and preventing the lava source to be displaced. If they were to rotate faster, the speed of the pump would be enough to displace the lava source. Although I can't remember what was the actual rpm threshold needed to achieve it
The speed of the pumps does indeed matter, but its a miniscule effect. What I've noticed is that below a speed of 8, every so often one of the cobble blocks doesn't form, so to get the "true" numbers a speed of 8 should be maintained. However it is genuinely a miniscule difference, so if you wish to save of su you are free to use a lower speed! As for the lava, it is never taken into the pumps, so there is never anything that gets diminished.
In the 1.19.2 version where all these builds are taking place, an rpm of 1 is sufficient to have the lava particle effect, as well as fluid displacement. The particle speed is negligably influenced by rpm, but the fluid displacement speed is definitely faster at higher rpms
The purpose is to take the cobble from the moving contraption and dump it in the vault funnels below it. The moving funnels act as a single inventory which hold the cobble, and the brass extracts them

Understand this is a bit late so it could be outdated, but the cobble keeps on getting suck in the area of the pumps do you know of any way to fix that
I made the medium one in my Vault Hunters world. I was able to replace the rotator speed controller with a gearbox and some cogs. The farm is farm is fantastic!
Just be aware the RSC is needed to get the fastest production rates. But If you are satisfied with the speed at your current rates, then glad to hear it. Hope you get good use out of it!
When using Gantry Shafts, they get destroyed by the waterlogged pumps, since the water tries to run out on the side and Gantry Shafts can apparently get destroyed by water just like a Torch does
playing 1.20.1 The **Stockpile Switch** is Also Referred to as a **Threshold Switch** a switch that activates based on detecting how full a storage is once it hits the set mark... for example... chest is half full? = activate redstone signal

hey dude, love the vid, but how on earth did you fill the tank? I hook this one tank up to a pipe, pump, and drain. The pump puts the lava into the tank but then doesn't do anything. The tank does not fill.
The generator isn't working for me, its moving like it should but not generating cobble. I've checked to ensure lava is in the tanks and the pumps are waterlogged. You mentioned that the pumps are to face down, is this for all of them? The schematic had some of them facing up in a checkered pattern
If you're using 5.1.e create, the code is bugged and this gantry style Gen doesn't work. You'd need to downgrade to 5.1.d or before the pumps facing down is a result of it being a 5.0 build, in 5.1 pump rotation was standardized. thats unrelated to your issue though
I’m not sure why, I even copied your schematic, but it isn’t making any cobblestone (1.19.2). None of the cobblestone is dropping from the machine, idk if this is an issue with the newest version
It works with create 5.1, I checked in a stream. I recommend browsing the comments and seeing if you spot your issue. Can also try my discord, I gave a troubleshooting channel you can view. ATM though it's too late in the eventing for me to try to check up on. If you're still having an issue tomorrow, I can look

I imagine so, but it would use a lot more su and be slower. I've never tested though so the specific mechanics might not be the same between the gantry and the piston. You'll have to try it out to see

Definitely isn't supposed to happen. I really recommend just using the gantry. Is there a particular reason you wish to use the piston? Oh as a side note, the piston is likely breaking because it's going at twice the speed of the rpm you're feeding it, so if you're making the feeding line go at above 128, then it will break since machines are limited to 256 rpm
@@Triobian i see, i used the piston just to test if it was possible, also i realize the reason for the cobble to be at the pumps was because the contraption didint have storage so it didint pick up the cobble that got stuck there.
How do i place the brass funnel? every time i place it it snaps to one of the linear chassis. Also do all of the pumps face down or do only certain ones?
place a block behind where you want the funnel, place the funnel (make sure its facing the right way), then break the block and replace whatever you had to break to place the block. All pumps should face down, though they will show a checkerboard pattern when you supply the power, thats normal.
hello, I can't make it works in MC 1.20.1, create 0.5.1e and i don't know why. Cobblestones aren't generated at all. I tried with the schematics and also tred to reproduce the machine by myself, same results. Any ideas?
I'm getting tons of cobble in the waterlogged pumps, and on the floor by the generator. Is this as expected or have I done something wrong? The generator is working -- but the items are producing (I anticipate) quite a bit of lag.
you have indeed done something wrong. i dont know what though. what is and what isnt moving? my discord has several posts about things not working and fixes, so consider checking there
had same problem. it looks like funnels doesnt move blocks to vault when moving. I added brass funnel on the side to drop items and funnel to the vault to collect them. If blocks are still dropping on the ground add barrel to it
The cobblestone keeps being pushed out of the farm due to overflow i think? last 4 line are not picking up cobblestone? ( there where there are no vaults underneath)
I just build one on my local LAN server and it just frozed up the world until I turned it off, huh, it's daem heavy on PC resources. Anyway it's cool design, even if it's laggy on our PC's. Also it can be run with a single source of lava.
No mod. In create, make the schematic table and schematicannon. When you're in the table gui, there's a folder icon. Click it. It opens an explorer window, and that's where you want to put the schematics you downloaded. Then close table and reopen and it's there. Repeat for any others you want to download
Can you help me? When I built the cobble generator with your iron farm, the cobble doesn't spawn! the gantry shafts are fine, and all the pumps are facing down.
I built exactly but the cobble doesn't deposit into the funnels, instead it just piles up on top. Also my brass funnel only ever points down, it never attaches at the side.
@@falkowoudstraI didn't, I found a different farm to use that works about 90% of the time. It has issues leaking cobblestone when it turns on and off, but there's no way to get around that.
gonna expand this as an upgrade to my existing iron farms, building a train to the world border from the nether and im already 1/4th of the way there at about 930k rails. Thanks for sharing, this will probably shave off a couple days of AFK time lol
Sounds like an awesome project! What's your iron Gen like? I revamped mine to work with a 18-pump model and it can produce around 2.5k an hour (video soon)
@@Triobian did some testing in creative and I just ended up using a 3x of the large version, did some testing and its a little over 2x faster than my old design that used a redstone clock which was prone to breaking
I love this, unfortunately it doesn't work on M-Tech (1.19.2 modpack) and for those wondering, no, the piston one with flowing water doesn't work either. The game registers the sound of cobblestone breaking, but nothing ever drops. Definitely going to try it out again in another modpack
Ooo, can't wait to try this out in create astral for cobbled deepslate -> crushing wheel resource generation. Edit: apparently the water logged pump doesn't generate deepslate, rip. So just a typical regular cobble gen using the same mechanic works fine just less compact and less items per/h
Thanks for providing the schematics and design! I used the schematics in a creative world to dissect and learn how the create mod works while building it in my survival world. Its making cobble like crazy but none of it is going into the brass funnel and ultimately into the item vaults... any idea why cobble is just flying everywhere?
No clue if I will get a reply, but for some reason the largest one (at least that’s the one I built) keeps spilling cobblestone out of the sides but not depositing any into the item vault. But when I turn off the machine, the filters feed into the vault just fine.

Im playing 1.20.1 and this just doesnt work anymore. The lava wont flow into flowing water meaning that when it is running, the water from the waterlogged pumps flows down blocking the lava. Water source blocks work but gantry shafts cant move waterlogged blocks. So the entire mechanism would need a redesign in 1.20.1
I actually was recently told about the easiest way. So, just get a item drain and borrow the left pump. Slap it on top with the drain on top, then cogwheel to power it. Right click bucket and good to go. Repeat with the other two tanks
Had an odd situation with the large version of this build. I built one via Schematic cannon with no issues at all. I decided to build a second to replace my previous design and it started throwing cobble everywhere. The root cause was the brass funnel under the barrel, it could not access the inventory of the barrel. Final fix was for me to to remove the funnel, then the andesite funnel behind it, replacing it with a chest. I clicked the brass funnel onto the chest, then remove the chest and replaced it with the funnel that was behind it. Glued the gantry back together and everything started working after that. It has been stable since then. I hope that may help if people run into the same issue I had.
ok i build the smaller version and my major issues atm is i keep loosing tons of cobble( a few hundred/min) that is just getting thrown to the sides or the back instead of going through the andesite funnels, I tried putting glass around as many exposed areas without breaking the machine and it doesnt help, they just go through the glass. Not sure what to do or how to fix this issue, any help would be appreciated!

Did you get this fixed? Otherwise, i had some issues with this at first also but i noticed i had forgotten the barrel. Adding the barrel solved this for me, building it by hand also made it tricky to make sure all the funnels were facing the right way.
@@Atom-xi7qv ya I did, it ended up being an issue with a specific mod (not sure which) in the mod pack but swapping the chute for hoppers worked if I remember correctly.
I am currently having issues with this type of generator, that is that no cobblestone is generated. I've come to the conclusion that it needs to dispense the lava into a source block. But it replaces the breaking trapdoors in the process.
I think they fixed this type of free cobble farming. I came back to play my world after a few months and I had a cobble farm working on the exact same principle, but it stopped working. This one is now useless too unfortunately...
To make it work for 1.16.5, you'll need to put water sources on the y level with the trapdoors, put them on both sides so there's water touching each trapdoor. This won't work for the largest version, since there wouldn't be a way to get water to touch the middle blocks.
Is there a variant without speed controllers, or the brass funnel at the back. Was looking for a pre brass cobble gen but I think I would have to go with a rotating one.
Rotating is probably going to be the way to go. I don't have a pre-brass version. Most of my builds are with the mid-game in mind, since that's where I tend to have the most fun. If you need an early game version, you can use a minecart contraption cobble gen. Was thinking about making that varient
@@Triobian Fair, I guess at that point you're going too fast for the andesite output funnel that I've replaced the brass one with so you'd have to slow it down anyway.
Did an update break it? After coming back from not using this generator for a while, it does no longer work. It doesn't move the carriage, and neither does it pump out lava out of the tank. Edit: The gantry shaft was bugged
i made the machine and it works, but when the barrel gets full it still runs and spits cobblestone everywhere, kinda lost on how to fix it since the redstone links dont seem to be doing anything
The barrel should be depositing into the vaults. You might need to break the vaults or linear chassis and replace them. As for the links, try setting their frequencies manually and then update them by placing a block next to them or shit right clicking them twice. Lmk if any of that works.
For those building in Create versions 0.5.1+, modify the design so that the funnels aren't glued, or else you won't pick up any cobble. Also, you don't need rotational force on both sides of the gantry shafts, just one is enough. Nowadays you can expect heavy losses due to spillage and cobble going upward into the water of the pipes. I recommend encasing the sides in blocks, leaving a 1-block air gap for spillage to fall through, and adding funnels on the sides of the vault to catch the spillage. (You can safely fill in the corners) There was a bug in some versions where water broke the gantry shafts. If you experience this, just put the gantries somewhere else and connect them to the trapdoors with glue
Hm, there's a few things I want to mention on this. That first part, I've helped numerous people with that issue, and its not so much a create issue but the other mods installed. I don't know of anyone who has had it with soley Create installed. One of the common mods in todays packs changes the behavior of moving funnels. Not sure what you mean by rotational force on both sides of the shafts though. the only input is the one I showed. The block collection not being solid is cause you're not using moving funnels, which is that other mod issue. If you have this issue in a Create only modded game, please let me know as it would be a first. As for water breaking the shafts, that's MC 1.20. The solution is like you describe, all you have to do is move the gantry parts back by a block and slap another two linear chassis on.

I have a question, why do the andesite funnels at the bottom move? Wouldn't it be better if they where fixed, it would also remove the funnels at the other side.
Why are some of the pumps facing up? The farm didn't work at full efficiency until I made all pumps face down. Other than that it's an amazing build, thank you!
I built this on a server and a single player and can not get it to work, the contraption moves back and forth, I see cobble being generated, but only the last set of cobble ends up in the vault, so 12 for medium or 2 for small. Its like the cobblestone just disappears after it is destroyed. Any thoughts?
@@Triobian Valhelsia: enhanced vanilla, is the mod back. The create mod specifically is v0.5.0d-731, the speed are 170 and -8, the single player world is just a creative I am building directly from the schematic and adding water and lava, so it should all be default.
Hm, well it sounds similar to the issue that Create Astral players have. Break the funnels and see if you start getting cobble drops. If so, you'll most likely need to use the alternative version that I made a community post about a few days ago.

Ok so, I'm in 1.20, and I got the gantry shaft moving and producing cobble, but it wont seem to go into the item vault? Or at least it does, but about 1 every 20 seconds. Any thoughts? Edit: Turns out I had not set the funnels to move in the correct orientation.
just to let everyone know, a cheaper way of making this cobble farm is to replace the breaking system with a minecart contraption. i found using a 4 hopper clock to be the best timing
@@Triobian I haven't tested the rates, but it is definitely a little slower than your farm. rotation speed controllers are very expensive in astral create so i wanted a cheaper option.
@@Triobian yea I just rebuilt everything and made tango tek's cobble farm he used and I still had the same problem. I'm pretty sure it's just a problem caused by one of the other mods I have installed or I'm just very dumb
I used to use this build witout any issue a few months ago, but now on 0.5.1f it stopped working without any intervention. Every time I start it, it breaks one of the 2 gantry carriage... Anyone knows what's up ?
would this need an added lava farm in order for it to work independently? Or do lava particles coming out of the pump not count as lava being pumped out of the tank
You got it in one! The lava particles count as flowing lava, so the cobble is generated instantly, so no real lava is harmed in the production of this video
hi i remove the vault in large model and connect to storage draw for exp far use silver fish and works lke charm but after few days it stop working and i chek every thing bulid for sec time but not working i cant find issu ???

this is great but on a server im playing on you can process uranium from stone but its super rare (less than 1%) so i need like 8 of these to power my base
I'm trying to learn create, so would you mind if I ask some questions? 1. Which part of the contraption collects the dropped items into the barrel? 2. The gantries are all rotating in the same direction, so shouldn't it stop instead of moving back and forth? Or does this works this way
I don't know why, but it fills my RAM to capacity after 40 seconds of running, and it's only due to movement and the block going into entity. I think it has something to do with valkyrien skies clockwork mod
I really don't get how the gantry works here. I reproduced exactly the same in 1.18 and it doesn't move at all, what ever the rotation direction. Something is missing in this explanation :/

@@Triobian Took your advice and I will just pass on the information that I have been told is that the whole stone breaking is supposed to be a feature that was specifically coded in and in the most recent patch they have a typo or some random issue and so it will be fixed in the next patch which will be 0.5.1f
I'm on Create Astral, and the GS is moving quite slowly even though the RSC is set to 170. Any idea why ? Besides that, it works fine, and it's a really cool setup.
no clue tbh. no one to my recollection has reported it "slow, but working". try running it at diff speeds and make sure things are only getting power and speed from the one place they ought to be
@@Triobian damn, I had not hooked power correctly. I didn't know you could power RSC through the wheel, I had always thought it had to be through the block !
Actually it doesn't make any difference... the large cog changes speed when I set the RSC's rpm, but it doesn't seem to affect the shafts. Weird. Edit: OK, for some reason, the speed is determined by the right RSC, not by the left one.
I built it in a world and after some tweaking (I removed the andesite funnel then put them back, not glued), it's awesome. But for some reason I get plenty of stone hopping up the pumps, so these are not picked up. Did someone observed similar results ?
I'm glad you're liking it! As for that issue, I would check your pump rotations and the trapdoors, make sure everyting is glued properly. And ensure your vault isnt buggy by breaking and reforming the multiblock. If none of that helps, than im not terribly sure what is causing the floaters

The lava particles that spew from the pump count as flowing lava, so in the time between the lava moving from one side of the pump to the other, cobble is generated, blocking the flow
This machine is so powerful that just make my game so lag when i stay nearby. I guess is particle effects of block breaking cause that, because my game just turn back to normal when I keep a distance from the machine. Is my pc too suck? because i didn't saw you have problems with that in the video.
I have a fairly high end PC, and I built it a few months ago. But yea, you can turn your particles down, or what I've heard some people sY is putting blocks around it where the particles are falling so they immediately start disappearing instead of falling to the floor. You can also put it underground and then pipe up the cobble. So you have options
@@Triobian I've sort of fixed it, I removed the item vault and the andesite funnels, and now it just spits the cobble directly out of the bronze funnel
Did the mod creators fix that generator? I completely reconstucted this generator and everthing seems to work fine. Only the cobblestone doesnt spawn, it only spawns after i remove the trapdoors, but that has the consequence that it doesnt break the cobble now. Anybody got this issue too? Why not use a 1L mechanical piston tho?
Because a gantry uses no su and is faster, and makes for a cleaner design.
In Create v0.5.1 the pumps no longer change direction when their rotational power direction is changed, making this even easier to set up.

Right! AE2 singularities, Deep Dark portals, and any other recipes that feel like they need septuple compressed cobble are no longer an issue!

Create has recently made a change in the code that patches almost any farm that used entities like this to break cobblestone, as per the changelog:
"1.20: Fixed some blocks incorrectly treated as non solid"
Doesn't say if this was on 1.19 or not but i assume its not as most developers only try to update the latest version with major updates, this update was made on 9/21/23, any cobblestone farm I've made that abuses this feature just doesn't allow cobblestone to form, and water will flow right through the block as well

does this work on servers? i made the large one on a create server with a few more mods installed (all unrelated to create except S&A, nothing to change vanilla), and we're running it on aternos forge 47.2.1 for 1.20.1. no cobblestone generates, the lava particles fall and water appears and disappears a bunch, but nothing generates. i had to manually add water, and i flipped all the pumps to be facing down because they were the wrong way. theres one bucket of lava in each tank and everything seems to be connected. the gantry shafts on the side dont break as others describe
Apparently its a bug and 5.1f will most likely fix it :)
My main concern with these kinds of Cobble Generators is that on servers, or on weaker computers, they can be a major source of lag. Just something to keep an eye on. While slower, there are situations where it's arguably better to have a more standard cobblestone generator that uses drills running at 96 or more RPM.

@@Szkoski literally while the machine is running, every time parts move, every entity made when a floor of cobble is broken, it all adds up and it adds up a lot on weaker servers or computers. Remember, just vanilla minecraft can cause lag issues with enough mobs and hoppers, this is that dialed up to 11.
I appear to be having an issue where the lava and the water go through, and the mechanical pumps are "grinding" the lava up into shards that are falling with the water, but it never makes any cobblestone. I followed the instructions when I downloaded the schematics on starting it up, and the machine runs, it just isn't outputting any cobble. Running on 1.20.1, Valhelsia 6 modpack for clarification

For anyone like me who doesn't have access to BRASS yet, what i did was replace the brass funnel with a hopper with 2 andesite funnel connecting on both sides, and it still works! (at least for the SMALL version)

I'm also playing Create: Astral but I never get any cobblestone to form. I even tried the schematic in a creative world and could not get it to work. I noticed Create: Astral uses Minecraft 1.18.2 and Create mod 0.5.0g. Are these the same versions you're using?

How do you prevent the lava from being fully diminished? I'm assuming the speed of the pumps matter with this type of cobble gen?
If I recall correctly, when a pump is rotating at 4 rpm, it can pump lava particles, and when the come in contact with water, cobble is generated, blocking the flow of the pump and preventing the lava source to be displaced. If they were to rotate faster, the speed of the pump would be enough to displace the lava source. Although I can't remember what was the actual rpm threshold needed to achieve it
The speed of the pumps does indeed matter, but its a miniscule effect. What I've noticed is that below a speed of 8, every so often one of the cobble blocks doesn't form, so to get the "true" numbers a speed of 8 should be maintained. However it is genuinely a miniscule difference, so if you wish to save of su you are free to use a lower speed! As for the lava, it is never taken into the pumps, so there is never anything that gets diminished.
In the 1.19.2 version where all these builds are taking place, an rpm of 1 is sufficient to have the lava particle effect, as well as fluid displacement. The particle speed is negligably influenced by rpm, but the fluid displacement speed is definitely faster at higher rpms

This is a really clever design! May I ask what the purpose is of that brass funnel thats not connected to anything under the barrel?
The purpose is to take the cobble from the moving contraption and dump it in the vault funnels below it. The moving funnels act as a single inventory which hold the cobble, and the brass extracts them

I made it using the schematic cannon and everything and it moves and places all the water and the lava falls, but no cobblestone is formed. Any ideas?

I made the medium one in my Vault Hunters world. I was able to replace the rotator speed controller with a gearbox and some cogs. The farm is farm is fantastic!
Just be aware the RSC is needed to get the fastest production rates. But If you are satisfied with the speed at your current rates, then glad to hear it. Hope you get good use out of it!

When using Gantry Shafts, they get destroyed by the waterlogged pumps, since the water tries to run out on the side and Gantry Shafts can apparently get destroyed by water just like a Torch does

hey dude, love the vid, but how on earth did you fill the tank? I hook this one tank up to a pipe, pump, and drain. The pump puts the lava into the tank but then doesn't do anything. The tank does not fill.

The generator isn't working for me, its moving like it should but not generating cobble. I've checked to ensure lava is in the tanks and the pumps are waterlogged. You mentioned that the pumps are to face down, is this for all of them? The schematic had some of them facing up in a checkered pattern

the pumps facing down is a result of it being a 5.0 build, in 5.1 pump rotation was standardized. thats unrelated to your issue though

I’m not sure why, I even copied your schematic, but it isn’t making any cobblestone (1.19.2). None of the cobblestone is dropping from the machine, idk if this is an issue with the newest version
It works with create 5.1, I checked in a stream. I recommend browsing the comments and seeing if you spot your issue. Can also try my discord, I gave a troubleshooting channel you can view. Some versions of create have a bug that disables the cobble Gen feature, try updating to a newer version

I imagine so, but it would use a lot more su and be slower. I've never tested though so the specific mechanics might not be the same between the gantry and the piston. You'll have to try it out to see

Definitely isn't supposed to happen. I really recommend just using the gantry. Is there a particular reason you wish to use the piston? Oh as a side note, the piston is likely breaking because it's going at twice the speed of the rpm you're feeding it, so if you're making the feeding line go at above 128, then it will break since machines are limited to 256 rpm

How do i place the brass funnel? every time i place it it snaps to one of the linear chassis. Also do all of the pumps face down or do only certain ones?
place a block behind where you want the funnel, place the funnel (make sure its facing the right way), then break the block and replace whatever you had to break to place the block. All pumps should face down, though they will show a checkerboard pattern when you supply the power, thats normal.

I'm getting tons of cobble in the waterlogged pumps, and on the floor by the generator. Is this as expected or have I done something wrong? The generator is working -- but the items are producing (I anticipate) quite a bit of lag.
you have indeed done something wrong. i dont know what though. what is and what isnt moving? my discord has several posts about things not working and fixes, so consider checking there
had same problem. it looks like funnels doesnt move blocks to vault when moving. I added brass funnel on the side to drop items and funnel to the vault to collect them. If blocks are still dropping on the ground add barrel to it
The cobblestone keeps being pushed out of the farm due to overflow i think? last 4 line are not picking up cobblestone? ( there where there are no vaults underneath)

I just build one on my local LAN server and it just frozed up the world until I turned it off, huh, it's daem heavy on PC resources. Anyway it's cool design, even if it's laggy on our PC's. Also it can be run with a single source of lava.

No mod. In create, make the schematic table and schematicannon. When you're in the table gui, there's a folder icon. Click it. It opens an explorer window, and that's where you want to put the schematics you downloaded. Then close table and reopen and it's there. Repeat for any others you want to download

I built exactly but the cobble doesn't deposit into the funnels, instead it just piles up on top. Also my brass funnel only ever points down, it never attaches at the side.

@@falkowoudstraI didn't, I found a different farm to use that works about 90% of the time. It has issues leaking cobblestone when it turns on and off, but there's no way to get around that.
gonna expand this as an upgrade to my existing iron farms, building a train to the world border from the nether and im already 1/4th of the way there at about 930k rails. Thanks for sharing, this will probably shave off a couple days of AFK time lol
Sounds like an awesome project! What's your iron Gen like? I revamped mine to work with a 18-pump model and it can produce around 2.5k an hour (video soon)
@@Triobian did some testing in creative and I just ended up using a 3x of the large version, did some testing and its a little over 2x faster than my old design that used a redstone clock which was prone to breaking

I love this, unfortunately it doesn't work on M-Tech (1.19.2 modpack) and for those wondering, no, the piston one with flowing water doesn't work either. The game registers the sound of cobblestone breaking, but nothing ever drops. Definitely going to try it out again in another modpack

Edit: apparently the water logged pump doesn't generate deepslate, rip. So just a typical regular cobble gen using the same mechanic works fine just less compact and less items per/h

Its making cobble like crazy but none of it is going into the brass funnel and ultimately into the item vaults... any idea why cobble is just flying everywhere?
well that was easy... the orientation of my funnels was all wrong... flipped them with a wrench and good to go
No clue if I will get a reply, but for some reason the largest one (at least that’s the one I built) keeps spilling cobblestone out of the sides but not depositing any into the item vault. But when I turn off the machine, the filters feed into the vault just fine.

If you're in 1.20, just move the gantry part back a block and put something there to stop the water.
Im playing 1.20.1 and this just doesnt work anymore. The lava wont flow into flowing water meaning that when it is running, the water from the waterlogged pumps flows down blocking the lava. Water source blocks work but gantry shafts cant move waterlogged blocks. So the entire mechanism would need a redesign in 1.20.1

It's not meant to go into the barrel. It's in the vault. Use funnels or chutes to get the cobble out
Hold on, you don't mention how to fill it. I understand waterlogging the pumps, but how do you get lava into the fluid tanks?
I actually was recently told about the easiest way. So, just get a item drain and borrow the left pump. Slap it on top with the drain on top, then cogwheel to power it. Right click bucket and good to go. Repeat with the other two tanks
Had an odd situation with the large version of this build. I built one via Schematic cannon with no issues at all. I decided to build a second to replace my previous design and it started throwing cobble everywhere. The root cause was the brass funnel under the barrel, it could not access the inventory of the barrel.
Final fix was for me to to remove the funnel, then the andesite funnel behind it, replacing it with a chest. I clicked the brass funnel onto the chest, then remove the chest and replaced it with the funnel that was behind it. Glued the gantry back together and everything started working after that. It has been stable since then.
I hope that may help if people run into the same issue I had.

ok i build the smaller version and my major issues atm is i keep loosing tons of cobble( a few hundred/min) that is just getting thrown to the sides or the back instead of going through the andesite funnels, I tried putting glass around as many exposed areas without breaking the machine and it doesnt help, they just go through the glass. Not sure what to do or how to fix this issue, any help would be appreciated!

Did you get this fixed? Otherwise, i had some issues with this at first also but i noticed i had forgotten the barrel. Adding the barrel solved this for me, building it by hand also made it tricky to make sure all the funnels were facing the right way.
@@Atom-xi7qv ya I did, it ended up being an issue with a specific mod (not sure which) in the mod pack but swapping the chute for hoppers worked if I remember correctly.
I am currently having issues with this type of generator, that is that no cobblestone is generated. I've come to the conclusion that it needs to dispense the lava into a source block. But it replaces the breaking trapdoors in the process.
I think they fixed this type of free cobble farming. I came back to play my world after a few months and I had a cobble farm working on the exact same principle, but it stopped working. This one is now useless too unfortunately...

It would not work at all. It depends on the water logging mechanic, which is not in 1.16.5
To make it work for 1.16.5, you'll need to put water sources on the y level with the trapdoors, put them on both sides so there's water touching each trapdoor. This won't work for the largest version, since there wouldn't be a way to get water to touch the middle blocks.
Is there a variant without speed controllers, or the brass funnel at the back. Was looking for a pre brass cobble gen but I think I would have to go with a rotating one.
Rotating is probably going to be the way to go. I don't have a pre-brass version. Most of my builds are with the mid-game in mind, since that's where I tend to have the most fun. If you need an early game version, you can use a minecart contraption cobble gen. Was thinking about making that varient
I only tried in 1.18 but two vertical gearboxes worked just as well for me. The input speed just has to be enough for it to work properly

@@Triobian Fair, I guess at that point you're going too fast for the andesite output funnel that I've replaced the brass one with so you'd have to slow it down anyway.
Did an update break it? After coming back from not using this generator for a while, it does no longer work. It doesn't move the carriage, and neither does it pump out lava out of the tank.

i made the machine and it works, but when the barrel gets full it still runs and spits cobblestone everywhere, kinda lost on how to fix it since the redstone links dont seem to be doing anything
The barrel should be depositing into the vaults. You might need to break the vaults or linear chassis and replace them. As for the links, try setting their frequencies manually and then update them by placing a block next to them or shit right clicking them twice. Lmk if any of that works.

For those building in Create versions 0.5.1+, modify the design so that the funnels aren't glued, or else you won't pick up any cobble.
Also, you don't need rotational force on both sides of the gantry shafts, just one is enough.
Nowadays you can expect heavy losses due to spillage and cobble going upward into the water of the pipes.
I recommend encasing the sides in blocks, leaving a 1-block air gap for spillage to fall through, and adding funnels on the sides of the vault to catch the spillage. (You can safely fill in the corners)
There was a bug in some versions where water broke the gantry shafts. If you experience this, just put the gantries somewhere else and connect them to the trapdoors with glue
Hm, there's a few things I want to mention on this.
That first part, I've helped numerous people with that issue, and its not so much a create issue but the other mods installed. I don't know of anyone who has had it with soley Create installed. One of the common mods in todays packs changes the behavior of moving funnels.
Not sure what you mean by rotational force on both sides of the shafts though. the only input is the one I showed.
The block collection not being solid is cause you're not using moving funnels, which is that other mod issue. If you have this issue in a Create only modded game, please let me know as it would be a first.
As for water breaking the shafts, that's MC 1.20. The solution is like you describe, all you have to do is move the gantry parts back by a block and slap another two linear chassis on.

Instead of the lengthy explanation, just try it with and without the funnels moving, and you'll see why they are moving.

In 5.0, pumps would change orientation based on rotation. In 5.1, they don't do that anymore. The Build was in 5.0. So yea simple fix for the update
I built this on a server and a single player and can not get it to work, the contraption moves back and forth, I see cobble being generated, but only the last set of cobble ends up in the vault, so 12 for medium or 2 for small. Its like the cobblestone just disappears after it is destroyed. Any thoughts?
What is the pack and game version you're playing on? Also what speed are the two rsc's set to?
@@Triobian Valhelsia: enhanced vanilla, is the mod back. The create mod specifically is v0.5.0d-731, the speed are 170 and -8, the single player world is just a creative I am building directly from the schematic and adding water and lava, so it should all be default.
Hm, well it sounds similar to the issue that Create Astral players have. Break the funnels and see if you start getting cobble drops. If so, you'll most likely need to use the alternative version that I made a community post about a few days ago.

Ok so, I'm in 1.20, and I got the gantry shaft moving and producing cobble, but it wont seem to go into the item vault? Or at least it does, but about 1 every 20 seconds. Any thoughts? Edit: Turns out I had not set the funnels to move in the correct orientation.

just to let everyone know, a cheaper way of making this cobble farm is to replace the breaking system with a minecart contraption. i found using a 4 hopper clock to be the best timing

You got it in one! The lava particles count as flowing lava, so the cobble is generated instantly, so no real lava is harmed in the production of this video

Why did you set the pump RPM to 8? I think it runs just as fast at 1 RPM; am I missing something there?
it technically gets more cobble at higher rpm, but its diminishing returns, so i stopped at 8.

My andesite funnels doesn't seem to be picking things up was wondering why and if there is a fix. ty. love the design tho, generates loads of cobble. bu tit throws it everywhere lol
the design no longer works due to pumps not placing source blocks if there's fluid in the way
That's not the exact issue, but supposedly create 5.1.f it's fixed again. Waiting for confirmation from people
i built this on 1.19.2 but it doesnt seem to work, how long does it take to start and is there a chance that other create addons might break this feature?
If you're using Create 5.1.e, it breaks the cobble Gen

Generator doesn't actually create cobblestone blocks as it moves back and forth - very dissapointing
yup. for 5.1.e you have to use normal cobble stone generation speed. you can still optimize with create though
this is great but on a server im playing on you can process uranium from stone but its super rare (less than 1%) so i need like 8 of these to power my base
I'm trying to learn create, so would you mind if I ask some questions?
1. Which part of the contraption collects the dropped items into the barrel?
2. The gantries are all rotating in the same direction, so shouldn't it stop instead of moving back and forth? Or does this works this way

I don't know why, but it fills my RAM to capacity after 40 seconds of running, and it's only due to movement and the block going into entity. I think it has something to do with valkyrien skies clockwork mod
I really don't get how the gantry works here. I reproduced exactly the same in 1.18 and it doesn't move at all, what ever the rotation direction. Something is missing in this explanation :/
Double check your glue is correct. That would be my first thought if stuff isn't moving.
I tried this in 1.20.1 but its not breaking anything. Cobble just isn't forming at all, any fixes?
Try the discord. if you cant find any solutions there, make a post, include all the details you can, and try to figure out what specific stage of the build isnt working.
@@Triobian Took your advice and I will just pass on the information that I have been told is that the whole stone breaking is supposed to be a feature that was specifically coded in and in the most recent patch they have a typo or some random issue and so it will be fixed in the next patch which will be 0.5.1f
I'm on Create Astral, and the GS is moving quite slowly even though the RSC is set to 170. Any idea why ? Besides that, it works fine, and it's a really cool setup.
no clue tbh. no one to my recollection has reported it "slow, but working". try running it at diff speeds and make sure things are only getting power and speed from the one place they ought to be
@@Triobian damn, I had not hooked power correctly. I didn't know you could power RSC through the wheel, I had always thought it had to be through the block !
Actually it doesn't make any difference... the large cog changes speed when I set the RSC's rpm, but it doesn't seem to affect the shafts. Weird.
Edit: OK, for some reason, the speed is determined by the right RSC, not by the left one.
There's a reason the sign, clutch, and creative motor was on the right one. And I believe I explained that in the video.

I built it in a world and after some tweaking (I removed the andesite funnel then put them back, not glued), it's awesome.
But for some reason I get plenty of stone hopping up the pumps, so these are not picked up. Did someone observed similar results ?
I'm glad you're liking it! As for that issue, I would check your pump rotations and the trapdoors, make sure everyting is glued properly. And ensure your vault isnt buggy by breaking and reforming the multiblock. If none of that helps, than im not terribly sure what is causing the floaters
Be careful, i built the large one on my server and it pretty much corrupted the world. Good thing the server backed up just before i ran the farm.
Always a good idea to save the world before pasting schematics with lots of moving parts / interactions!

If you're using 5.1.e create, the code is bugged and this gantry style Gen doesn't work. You'd need to downgrade to 5.1.d or before

I'm playing on a server with create fabric 0.5.1d and even if the gantry shafts rotate the carriages won't move
I might have just missed it, but how much lava do these consume? Very little, I assume, but not none.
They consume no lava, so indeed, very little
@@Triobian Huh, I would have expected it to take at least a mB (or on fabric a droplet) per cobble
The lava particles that spew from the pump count as flowing lava, so in the time between the lava moving from one side of the pump to the other, cobble is generated, blocking the flow
This machine is so powerful that just make my game so lag when i stay nearby.
I guess is particle effects of block breaking cause that, because my game just turn back to normal when I keep a distance from the machine.
Is my pc too suck? because i didn't saw you have problems with that in the video.

But yea, you can turn your particles down, or what I've heard some people sY is putting blocks around it where the particles are falling so they immediately start disappearing instead of falling to the floor. You can also put it underground and then pipe up the cobble. So you have options

@@Triobian I've sort of fixed it, I removed the item vault and the andesite funnels, and now it just spits the cobble directly out of the bronze funnel

Did the mod creators fix that generator? I completely reconstucted this generator and everthing seems to work fine. Only the cobblestone doesnt spawn, it only spawns after i remove the trapdoors, but that has the consequence that it doesnt break the cobble now. Anybody got this issue too? Can somebody help me with that? ....playing on 0.5.1.f
