    A great tip I got off the canal forums is to keep a pack of cheap nappies on board.. not for the shock of finding the leak 🤣 but they do a blinding job mopping up when you don’t have a vac to hand. I use them to get the last bits of water out the bilge that the pump doesn’t suck up. 👌

      ahhh the old nappy trick...we have been told this....and we do actually have some, we have yet to use them though, how exciting haha yes that's rights I completely forgot that you should use them in. the engine bay thank you

    Hi Becca Chris,so glad you are back Becca now you can get some work done lol so you still have water coming in it’s so hard to find a leak in a boat you never know wear it comes in ,when are you having the boat lifted out ,Chris a bow thruster is just a electric motor with a propeller fix to the shaft of the motor when you switch it on to go to port the prop spins one way when you go to starboard the prop spins the other way I hope you can understand that Chris please never try to take the bow thruster out of the tube while it’s in the water because the tube is always in the water,I’m so pleased you have found the leek ,yes Chris it is the only way to get the wood out of the hole cutter is what you are doing,well it looks like you are having fun good job Becca is her you and Maverick could not find the leek but Becca did good old Becca she think about the problem then dose her best to but it right ,well till next time take care keep safe, John 🌹👀💪🛠🛠🪓🪓💕😂🥵🧐🥵😡🤬

    Thanks for keeping on putting out your videos, I very much enjoy your humour. A rubber door mat could temporarily keep out the rain....rubber gloves, big sponge and a bucket make getting water out of bulges straight forward..... Get them nearly dry then finish of with an old towel or rag. A forstner drill bit or big flat paddle type drill bit is much quicker for lots of big holes in ply wood but more messy perhaps..... Good luck with it all

    I really don't want to be "that guy", but I have to say how alarmed I am at the state of your potable water tank, if. that's what the water is indeed used for. Drinking water should be stored in inert tanks, or at least have a lining or coating to keep it sanitary and safe. A filter is also a good idea if the tank has a wide-open access point where contaminants can easily find their way in. This includes rainwater, which can carry all number of dangerous waterborune pathogens. Good luck with the boat, and looking forward to future updates!

    Just to add my bit, I am surprised MDF is used anywhere on a boat. It absorbs dampness and water and will start to swell. For a bed base, slats of timber with gaps in between would be my choice. I'm not an expert, just now hate mdf after what I have seen what can happen to it in a house even. I don't have a boat. Loving your entertaining presentation of learning DIY. I had a concept of having a bow thruster control (motorcycle throttle grip) on the tiller (also provide a variable assist when turning).
    The trouble is, that hatch may have been ok prior to you gouging at it? ;-)

    • @TheNomadicCrobot
      @TheNomadicCrobot  2 года назад

      That would be a far better bow thruster idea, we’ve heard not many people really use them, and we were ok in fairness with our 60foot boat, saying that I’m sure it would have been very useful, I no, we found that out afterwards ha

      I read somewhere that a 57 foot boat is a nearly perfect length, so a 60 footer shouldn't be much more difficult without a bow thruster, but beyond that, just having one to help in docking (countering wind, water outlets, etc...) would be good.

    Is your Bilge-Pump working? ... Is it Automatic ?? .... If you Moor a boat facing Downstream on a River - the chances of your boat SINKING are pretty HIGH! - As water gets IN! - Where it should be getting OUT!! ..... 🤨🤔

    You should have done the leak test before you poked the seal around. You may have just found the leak you just created.
