You were at the last lock before I realised I’d had a big grin on my face from the start, so exciting though I must admit I thought the weed hatch would be blocked before you got out of the marina. Becs your loo worked, yeahhhhhh not that I doubted it for even a second, what a buzz. Chris you are just a crazy person, meant in the best of way, too funny. I loved my first trip with you but now I’m worried about the power and I can’t remember if you said you joined the roadside (in this case canal side) assist where they come to breakdowns. I’m busting for the next vlog. Stay safe guys, so many laughs, thanks. 💕
Thanks so much Pauline, we're just so excited to finally be out, the marina was actually not to bad but we have been told a new boat will be in our way on the way bk to our dpace which should make it alot harder...but should make for an entertaining vlog, the loo is amazing...we're well chuffed, and trust me becca loved the weed hatch...she can't stay out of it haha thanks always for your lovely message 😀
Great to see you enjoying your boat. I found it really stressful too at first, but I did a helmsman course which gave me the confidence and knowledge about how to get out of tricky situations.
Yes I think as a complete beginner it can be quite stressful at times, we just take out time now, I was quite interested in the helmsman course but I think I'll probably just wing it now haha

It was hard...I'm not going to lie...but I'm quite used to restless nights on the wombat haha
I'm beginning to suspect that the Wombat is fitted with Infinite Improbability drive. It must be a bit disorienting when you never know when you will materialize as a pair of sofas. No danger of achieving normality, though. 🙃

Narrowboating = really stressful!!! Lol I had a narrowboat holiday last year on the Llangollen canal (or as the foxes call it ‘bumper cars’ ), loved it and hated it because of the stress lol too many other boaters all telling you off for doing everything wrong ! Ps you’re engine is noisy it sounds really angry 😡 😤 😠 hahahaha 😂
Oh cool yeah we love foxes, the hire boaters have to start somewhere too, but then again we haven't cruised enough to experience any problems with them, the engine is noisy...we are looking at dampening the sound...so much for a peaceful vlog...ties in quite well with all our chaos so far ...she doesn't pur... she roarrrrrrs

Hello Crew. If you're not past it, pop int LH Jones (just before St Ives lock) and buy a copy of the Imray Guide to the River Ouse - hours of useful info and you'll never take a wrong tun again! You can also get one for he Middle level too - just see Ben or mick. Diesel at Westview Earth and then at Richardsons Ely. Enjoy the aqueduct on the Nene - it's lovely as you know! Happy Boating!

@@TheNomadicCrobot Should be OK on the Nene though it's best to ring ahead for the locks - numbers are in the book. Leave one copy at the back and one at the front...Still use my Dad's copy with all the times between pubs - he knew the score....been gone 17 years now.. Came back from P'bro 11 years ago on my honeymoon to the Pike and Eel covered in spongebob balloons - lovely photo crossing the Nene Valley Railway on a trailer to Ortom Marina just before getting "hooked". Happy days...!

Awesome, our names are becca 'cro'w and chris tal'bot'...together we make crobot...a bit silly reallyour boat is called 'the whistling wombat' ...I've always wanted to live on a narrowboat for the last 20 years and becca is the perfect candidate for the adventure...we are happy with our purchase though it could have gone more smoothly...its given us plenty to learn for when she's finally ready 😀 thanks for your comment
