As an ex plumber . Due to the size hole made for pipework you may want to put some small cuts of membrane around pipe as it goes through timber otherwise your have squeaking noises as pipework heats up . When is your next live stream ? . Keep up the great videos guys .

Good job Bex as always. We all know when you're on the job it will be done correctly.
If you need ventilation for the gas locker, why not purchase a small vent, cut a hole in one of the doors, screw in the vent, done! If you want to be over cautious have one in each gas locker door.
Great video as always. Take good care of yourselves guys ~ Hugs & XO Lacy, Mike & Hamish🐾
PS. I bet when you close your eyes you can see the entire Wombat all spic 'n span with a Snore room, bedroom, bath all finished. The day will come, just hang in there. ⛵🙌

Bless you, you’re getting there! Good idea doing all the plumbing with fresh piping. Hopefully that will stop any future issues with leaks and give you peace of mind to know you won’t have to do it again for a few years. @@TheNomadicCrobot this is so true, learning to do it yourselves will save you so much money in the long run as you will know exactly how to fix it. Plus it’s feels so good and empowering learning new skills, good ole RUclips university and sharing your skills on what you have had to learn (even tho I’m sure it’s so frustrating as you just want to get out on the cut exploring) The best part will be when you pass your BSS and get to enjoy your adventures knowing that if anything does go wrong you both can fix it. We just have to make sure you are stocked up with plenty of marigolds 🤣😂by clicking the like and subscribe buttons 😉😉 🤗🤗and buying a brew or three 😉

As for me I don’t care for the short videos, but that’s me, I’m always wanting more, lol. Im so impressed with you Bex how much you’ve learned and how fearlessly you charge ahead bypassing any and all obstacles. Hopefully each day draws you closer to finally cruising, I feel your frustration at times, but the Crobot Narrow Boat will be an amazing craft to be once finished (as if any boat is ever finished).

Hi your doing a cracking job, but if you connect a compression fitting to plastic pipe always wrap ptfe tape around the copper olive. Because thats where you make seal. Hope this helps.

The only ventilation the gas locker needs is drain holes at the bottom, above the waterline. Unlike natural gas, liquified petroleum gas is heavier than air so any gas that leaks will sink to the bottom of the locker.

You want the hot water lines as short as possible after the calorifier (sp?) ... Everytime you want hot water, you are going to have to let it run to emply out the no-longer-hot water in the pipes, before you get hot water again. So you'll be wasting a bit of water every time.

  • @davejones8612

Becky, you don't put PTFE tape on the threads of a compression joint. It's the olive that creates the seal, not the threads. The tape won't do anything at all if the olive fails.

    Dear Chris and Becca,
Chris regarding the gas locker, you might require something similar to a plastic louvered grill which will allow any fumes out should there be a gas leak. You will probably find them at B&Q for about 7 pounds each
Becca do yourself a favor and mark the pipes to indicate which are hot and which are cold. In the future you will appreciate this should you need to identify them.
Definitely looking forward to next week.
    Take care,
    Mark

Gas locker vents are normally as low as possible as the gas is heavier than air and pools at the lowest point?

    • @PinkLittleElephant
      @PinkLittleElephant 28 дней назад

@@TheNomadicCrobot check with the safety rules...as far as I know we had bottles don't need overall ventilation. The important thing is drain holes at floor level because gas is heavier than air and pools at the bottom during a leak

When I had a go at domestic plumbing a while back, I found that plastic pipe thickness varied between manufacturers. So even though the internal dimensions were the same, there was a mismatch and caused a leak. I had to buy fittings made by the pipe manufacturer to cure the problems 🤷🏼‍♂️
