      @@ramalama9650 that’s very dramatic. The fact is most people are not aware of the laws regarding photography. I bet you weren’t aware until you started watching auditing videos right? The main problem I see is how they approach the photographers not that they don’t know the law because most people don’t, and that includes the police who you would think would definitely know the law and yet often they don’t.

      I was aware of it but I would never do it. The aim is to goad someone into reacting. I think it's rude to be honest but that's how these videos work.
      If I was the owner of the property I would want to confront the person but I know that would be the worst thing to do, I'd be playing into their hands.
      I go back to my original comment, the bosses in these places like to tell people what to do and give orders. They are confused by it when their orders fall on deaf hears and someone speaks back to them. Their authority ends at the gates. In their minds it doesn't. Notice how they don't want to hear the rules for drones and photos? You see it in many videos. They expect you to just do as your told.
      Now, if someone was within their gates and on their property then that's a totally different story. Inside their rules apply, outside they don't.

So why would you google a topic you already know? When someone challenges you on your knowledge it comes clear if you actually know or just think you know 😁
      Security can easily show how much they actually know:
      Step 1. See that there is a person.

      Step 6. When they say "249" you conclude that then there is nothing else to do.
      Step 7. As long they have not indicated wanting to be left alone you can keep chatting. Perhaps answer few of their questions which you can. You could also prep yourself asking from your company if you are allowed to show people the grounds but that probably is a no.

Taking pictures. Me you and others who regularly watch videos by DJ and other auditors have become very used to seeing people taking photographs on industrial estates and outside business is wherever they may be, We are used to it. But business owners and their staff and security guards are not used to it clearly. They were used to it are they knew about the laws they wouldn’t come out would they. And when they are looking out of the window and see someone filming into the back of their premises, maybe to them it looks like they are making a reconnaissance video in order to carry out nefarious activities later on or even if that far doesn’t enter their head it’s just unusual to see someone on industrial estate at the back of the business are at the front of the business buying a camera at their premises. It’s not something that they are used to seeing. it’s a simple as that really. And just because we’re used to seeing it, and we now know the laws because of auditors does it mean everyone else does not even security companies and in many cases, not even the police who you would expect knew all the laws, but even the police don’t know a lot of the time so in 3 to 5 years we will be seeing a lot less drama and confrontation because they’ll be a lot more awareness and the Wordle of gone round the auditors now are likely to come and photograph your business & they are allowed to it’s a lot of activity.
      But guess what when that happens auditors won’t be making videos as much because most of us come back to watch these videos for the drama and father confrontation if we’re being honest about it, we’re not coming back to find out what DJ can see in the back of skips in the back of premises on industrial estate are we? Seemed to be star number 1 was wanting to escalate things, the other 2 were just curious more than anything. That was my take on the 3 main stars of this interaction. Number 4 was fine in every way.

      Tell me something, did you know any of the laws regarding public photography and flying drones to make videos over businesses before you started watching auditors ? I would say that’s a no. Do the police always know the laws regarding public photography and flying drones over businesses and they are the law, do they always know ? no they don’t. If you owned a business and you never seen any hard in videos, and you saw A random person pointing the camera through your fence of your business, taking photographs or making a video are flying a drone over your business. Would you be sat there thinking no problem? Or would you be likely to go out to find out what they are doing? I reckon like most people would go out to find out what they are doing. Here’s the thing. Most of us watch the videos for the drama and the confrontation, if we’re being honest. One of the good things about auditors, who do it the right way is there slowly, but surely educating people regarding the rights of people to take photographs so at some point there will be a lot less confrontation and drama when auditors turn up to take photographs, I’ll make videos. And I guarantee at that point, the numbers of viewers will drop dramatically because looking at industrial estate and what’s in recycle bins isn’t really that interesting is it if you’re being honest. Too many people in the comment section, have this outrage and like to moan about how people behave regarding How they don’t understand the laws et cetera when the truth is most people in the country, don’t have a clue about the laws regarding photography why would day that includes the police.

    • @turdwarbler
      @turdwarbler 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@christopherwhittaker2620Yes I did. I have been a photographer for over 40 years, and I have been challenged in public many years ago, so I learnt the laws. I am also a pilot so I know a fair bit about the laws concerning things flying around and its in my own interest to do so especially given the rise in drones. I have seen the damage a pigeon can do to a light aircraft, let alone a hard plastic drone.
      My problem is the way that people come out and are basically rude, aggressive and so entitled to demand to know what somebody is doing on the public foot path. They could could come out and say hello, how are you, and start a reasonable conversation. But no, they come out making laws up left right and center, they have no fucking idea what the laws are, they just feel they are entitled to interrogate people without cause.
      As far as trained (sic) security personnel are concerned, then yes, they bloody well shold know the laws concerning interacting with the members of the public, its thier bloody job to know.

    • @christopherwhittaker2620
      @christopherwhittaker2620 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@turdwarbler sure and I can agree with most of what you’re saying here. Especially regarding how people approach auditors.
      Too often, they come out guns blazing with a cocky attitude or as you say, rude or aggressive etc. And I agree That it’s about time that security personnel were trained properly regarding the laws.
      It seems like The people and companies that train people to become SIA registered are taking peoples money and not training them properly. All SIA Security should have good knowledge of things like photography, drone laws.etc etc. I think with you being a photographer and a pilot automatically, makes you very likely to be aware of the laws regarding photography and drones. But my only point I’ve been trying to make is most people aren’t photographers are pilots, so they don’t know these laws through no real fault of their own.
      And as I’ve said often police don’t even know the laws which kind of says it all really. And that is why I sometimes laugh at the amount of outrage in the comment section.
      Most of the people who watch these videos will have had absolutely no idea about the laws around photography or drones, until they started watching auditing videos. And as I’ve said, most of us are here, because of the drama, all the confrontation captured in videos, maybe not your good self, but most people. Anyway, I appreciate your reply. Take care mate

    • @stuartb4525
      @stuartb4525 10 месяцев назад +1

      @christopherwhittaker2620 You are replying with almost the same comment on here. To a certain degree, in regards to drones not a lot of people would know, I would agree with. However, not knowing and automatically saying it's not allowed or it's illegal are the usual go to stance. What makes them think it's not allowed or illegal? When they get told it's not, they then double down and say well it's the law. If you don't know something then best not to speak as an authority on a subject you know nothing about. Yes these drone videos have opened eyes, especially for the ones that watch them
      My next point is the normal everyday use of a camera, be that a phone or other type. Virtually every person has one of some description. I can guarantee the vast majority have at some point taken pictures or videos in public. Be that in town, in a park, on holiday, any tourist attractions etc. You don't need to know any laws about taking said pictures or video in public. There is no way in this world that they thought to ask permission, they just done it without a care in the world. That's all they needed to know, that they were doing it end of. So to that end why would these people in these premises think differently? That is the question. They have done exactly what DJ and others are doing, but for some reason they think their buildings are sacred.
      Audits like this mainly came about, for the majority who do it, were sick to the back teeth of getting stopped by police, strangers etc, wanting to know what they were doing. So in the main, the use of video was to try and show the general public who watch, or in this case, a business, that filming in public is a normal activity.

    • @christopherwhittaker2620
      @christopherwhittaker2620 10 месяцев назад

      @@stuartb4525 no sorry I disagree. There’s a huge difference between people taking photographs and selfies of each other in their houses in pubs and restaurants on holiday et cetera et cetera. Surely you understand that businesses are a different kettle of fish and you seem to be missing my point. I will repeat my point if that’s what I need to do.
      Until auditing started to happen fairly recently, you would not of seen people turning up randomly on industrial estates pointing cameras at their premises. Don’t try and pretend you would, so if you put yourself in the position of business owners, security, guards, and even the police to some extent, surely you can see it is quite unusual to see a random person turn up at your business on an industrial estate taking photographs? There is a massive difference between taking photographs of yourself in the street in the pub at home and taking photographs of premises on industrial estates.
      Now just because you have got used to the idea of seeing it because you watch videos of auditors doesn’t mean that business owners and security guards are aware that this happens as frequently as it is happening, so to them it is highly unusual. This is why we get the drama, what don’t you understand about that? We wouldn’t see the drama if everyone was used to seeing people taking photographs on industrial estates would we ? surely you can see that ? obviously you can’t. And you’re actually making my point for me by pretending that business owners should automatically understand it’s normal for random people to be taking photographs of their premises just because people take selfies and people now have phones with cameras on them. it’s almost like you’re saying that the business owners know that the photographers have the right to do what they’re doing and I just coming out just for the confrontation which isn’t true.
      Business, owners, staff from businesses, security guards, and even the police are often confused as to why someone is taking pictures of business premises. And that’s because it’s quite a new thing relatively speaking.
      It’s only going to become normal once the world goes round and once there is awareness raised about the rights of photographers, you pretending that people should automatically know the rights of photographers who own businesses is hilarious because if that was the case we wouldn’t see the drama that we do on a regular basis. I can’t believe you’re being so stubborn regarding this.
      You’ve got to ask yourself, why do we see so much drama if people genuinely new photographers rights, it makes no sense.

      I really don’t understand why he has started doing that….. pretending to be a photographer for a client… why not just state you’re a RUclipsr, it’s as if he’s trying to get a reaction rather than just exercising his right to film in public!
      I much prefer Northern Audit’s style… much more honest with the companies which, for me makes the video more pleasant to watch.

      Agree with this sentiment. Great video but the bit where dj could not provide his client details due to gdpr undermined his position. If DJ is bound by gdpr in respect of client details then surely he would also be bound by gdpr in respect of the imges he is taking. I know it's all a farce but I think it does weaken DJ's position on gdpr a bit.

    My, my! These are guys who work in the security industry, who manufacture security cameras. Yet they do not know the first thing about photography laws or whether public-to-private filming is allowed, or whether a drone can fly over private land, or whether a private building can be filmed, or whether people and their cars can be filmed. They believe the photographer has some kind of moral responsibility for providing them with privacy, and for explaining their reason for existing to anyone who demands it. That hardly recommends them to potential customers.

    It never ceases to amaze me how people come out and make their company look horrible on video forever and ever and ever because the internet never goes away it'll always be up there and they make that company look terrible

      It never ceases to amaze me, how people in the comment section act, like they’ve always known the laws regarding photography are the laws regarding drones. Often the police don’t even know the laws, and they are the police who are supposed to know about the laws and let’s be honest, you’re not here to see what’s in the recycle bins on the premises of these videos are necessarily to see what these businesses do. You like 99% of us are here for the drama and the confrontation so just think about that.

    Still waiting for DJ to point out that he's seen many places where they've put material between the links of the fence to keep people from being able to see in and so, if they are leaving the fences completely visible-through, that's saying that they have no problem with people seeing into the site.
