cheers boy they have come in very very handy :)
Are we going to get some cruising videos soon ??? Like to see you going down the canal instead of the canal being in youre boat 😂, now the locks fixed I assume you’ll be getting the hull survey done next ? Lovely job with that woodwork !
Absolutely, we’re gearing up for our 2 week journey at the beginning of august, and with things coming together quite quickly now we should hopefully e off properly by the following months, I’m dying to get on the canals and get the boat fully livable, yes the hull survey too in august so that should be interesting, thanks for your support 😀
Hi Becca and Chris.
You should be used to spending out money when you own a Hippo !.
If you don’t know that is your Freelander 1 Td4 3 Door, just wondering if you are members of the Freelander First Community ?. If you ever need a really good Garage for your Hippo ( if you own a Freelander you always end up needing a good Garage and a reasonably priced one ) then you should check out Matthew Booth who runs the Freelander specialist garage in Cannock.
Lovely to see you getting on with your Project Boat, I like what people say about owning a Boat :- Bring Out Another Thousand !.
They do seem to be money pits but I think they are just like the Freelander and they become part of the Family ?!!. Anyway Love the videos ❤
Hey Leonard, I think I must have got really lucky with my hippo by the sounds of it then as I've had it for about 6 years and I've never had to have it into a garage once! She has done me very well so far thankfully! Thanks so much for the info though 🙂 Do you have one yourself? Ahh that saying seems very true but again we have done so much of the work on the boat ourselves that we have managed to keep our budget to a minimum so far 🤞 we can keep managing it like that!! She is definitely part of the family though. Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment too. See you on the next one ❤️
Hi Becca, Chris, Wow, things are moving ahead really nicely now. Chris well done on your hatch doors, and Becca , well done on you toilet frame. I loved the way you measured it all up so precisely. Another great Vlog. Thank you guys. Have a lovely week. Take Care.
Things are really starting to come together, it’s a great feeling, who knows we might have an actual bed soon yay haha thanks so much for your lovely comment
Composting toilets are brilliant. We built them when we made a camping field when we lived in France. Never smelly and easy to dispose of! Way to go!!! Keep up the good work you two! You’ll get there in the end! X
oh great thank you, they seam to be so pricey to buy new and quite an easy build really. were getting there :)
Great vlog. It's great watching people having fun while working. 👍
Thanks we try to amuse ourselves haha
So much fun being with you two, thanks for another fun vlog. And until next week stay safe. 💕

Thank you Shane slowly we can see progress :)
That’s going to be a pretty awesome thunderbox you are making .Don’t forget to sand the seat down well 🧐and the side hatch doors were well worth waiting for !
It really is, it’s gonna be some throne haha luckily bex is a really really good sander at this point haha thanks
Everything's going well..Great job, guys. You should be proud of yourselves. ❣
Gail and Graham(Australia)
Thank you it’s really starting to come together hi from England 🏴
Always fun, enjoyed it again, thank you. And shop for wood, prices are nuts!
Oh definitely we’re terrible at it because it’s only 30 seconds up the road , thank you 😊
@@TheNomadicCrobot Yeah, i know. For me its 2 minutes.
Hi guys love the vlog. Hatch doors look great Chris. Go Becca building a compost toilet. Have a great week
Thank you, it’s nice to see parts finally coming together, will be traveling in no time , thank you always 😀
Comedy gold 👌🏻👊🏻😂x
Awww thanks x
Big thumbs up from me.
thank you
Got it - first post... Whoo hoo! Keep up the good work :-)
Yayy thanks
Well guy looking really cool 😎 stay safe 👍🤪
Thank you
Loving the vlogs and that you are tackling the issues on your own, well Becca anyway... lol. my only worry with the side hatches/windows was the amount of light that we could see through them, if you did have an issue with cold you will now let alone water ingress. Concerned viewer..
Haha she’s a good egg isn’t she, yes we are working on the fact that a lot of light/air can get in , especially in the winter months, bex has a plan though :) thanks
@@TheNomadicCrobot good old bex.... sorry i meant young...
So how do you intend to actually 'compost' your faeces on your boat whilst cruising?
Since December 2021 CaRT have put a stop to 'bagging and binning' human waste, so where will yours go?
Yes the crt seam to have a lot on there hands with this issue off bagging and binning,so far london have a scheme in place and we’re quite sure other places will follow as so many people have these loos, the option of actually composting it has been our main aim, thanks for your comment
Can never understand the purpose of a human 'compost' toilet. When I think of compost I think of a thing you put vegetable matter in, then over a course of a bit of time it rots down to be used on growing plants etc. So how does it work on a Narrowboat and what happens to the solids if you eat meat...Strange one on me
Yeah it is really, but I think it’s the same as farmers do on there land all around the country, for us it just seamed like the easiest option
👍👌❤🇨🇦
You guys need a new name. How about The Stationary Rustbot?
Wait for the spin off 😅😂
heads in nautical terms
I was so disappointed when you finally closed the hatch doors, to see daylight through cracks at both the bottom and the top of the doors. Like large cracks of daylight. Too large to leave there because it's just another means for both cold and water to enter your home (sad face)
Yes it's still something we're trying to crack, we will get there a bit at a time, so many new things to take in on the boaty journey, thanks Bill
Are you wearing your Geordie Jeans pet?
Why eye! 😂
This was the first non-rust episode?
Not much left to do then? 😇😇😇
hopefully that's a good a sign Rolf. I have a feeling there more rust to come haha
I don't think putting excrement in domestic bins and household rubbish is the way to go even if you do mix it with compost and your putting the liquid in the alsan anyway ,sorry but I think you best use the cassette or pump out I can't see how much greener it is.Through in all that compost and excrement in landfill I find it the worst idea ever I can't see it been greener than flushing your cassette down a alsan point totally pointless I think your being talked into a bad idea I wonder if the refuse company's are happy about this.
your absolutely right, we may need to end up using it as a cassette loo until they sort out more collection points like they have around the London area, as disgusting as it sounds there is also the option of actually composting it in a tank , were also quite sure more points are going to be opened as so many people have these types of loo, thanks for your comment :)
