    Are we going to get some cruising videos soon ??? Like to see you going down the canal instead of the canal being in youre boat 😂, now the locks fixed I assume you’ll be getting the hull survey done next ? Lovely job with that woodwork !

      Absolutely, we’re gearing up for our 2 week journey at the beginning of august, and with things coming together quite quickly now we should hopefully e off properly by the following months, I’m dying to get on the canals and get the boat fully livable, yes the hull survey too in august so that should be interesting, thanks for your support 😀

    Hi Becca and Chris.
    You should be used to spending out money when you own a Hippo !.
    If you don’t know that is your Freelander 1 Td4 3 Door,just wondering if you are members of the Freelander First Community ?. If you ever need a really good Garage for your Hippo ( if you own a Freelander you always end up needing a good Garage and a reasonably priced one ) then you should check out Matthew Booth who runs the Freelander specialist garage in Cannock.
    Lovely to see you getting on with your Project Boat, I like what people say about owning a Boat :- Bring Out Another Thousand !.
    They do seem to be money pits but I think they are just like the Freelander and they become part of the Family ?!!. Anyway Love the videos ❤

    • @TheNomadicCrobot
      @TheNomadicCrobot  Год назад

      Hey Leonard, I think I must have got really lucky with my hippo by the sounds of it then as I've had it for about 6 years and I've never had to have it into a garage once! She has done me very well so far thankfully! Thanks so much for the info though 🙂 Do you have one yourself? Ahh that saying seems very true but again we have done so much of the work on the boat ourselves that we have managed to keep our budget to a minimum so far 🤞 we can keep managing it like that!! She is definitely part of the family though. Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment too. See you on the next one ❤️

    Loving the vlogs and that you are tackling the issues on your own, well Becca anyway... lol. my only worry with the side hatches/windows was the amount of light that we could see through them, if you did have an issue with cold you will now let alone water ingress. Concerned viewer..

    So how do you intend to actually 'compost' your faeces on your boat whilst cruising?
    Since December 2021 CaRT have put a stop to 'bagging and binning' human waste, so where will yours go?

    • @TheNomadicCrobot
      @TheNomadicCrobot  2 года назад

      Yes the crt seam to have a lot on there hands with this issue off bagging and binning,so far london have a scheme in place and we’re quite sure other places will follow as so many people have these loos, the option of actually composting it has been our main aim, thanks for your comment

  • @workingboat
    @workingboat 2 года назад

    Can never understand the purpose of a human 'compost' toilet. When I think of compost I think of a thing you put vegetable matter in, then over a course of a bit of time it rots down to be used on growing plants etc. So how does it work on a Narrowboat and what happens to the solids if you eat meat...Strange one on me

    • @TheNomadicCrobot
      @TheNomadicCrobot  2 года назад

      Yeah it is really, but I think it’s the same as farmers do on there land all around the country, for us it just seamed like the easiest option

    I was so disappointed when you finally closed the hatch doors, to see daylight through cracks at both the bottom and the top of the doors. Like large cracks of daylight. Too large to leave there because it's just another means for both cold and water to enter your home (sad face)

    • @TheNomadicCrobot
      @TheNomadicCrobot  Год назад +1

      Yes it's still something we're trying to crack, we will get there a bit at a time, so many new things to take in on the boaty journey, thanks Bill

    I don't think putting excrement in domestic bins and household rubbish is the way to go even if you do mix it with compost and your putting the liquid in the alsan anyway ,sorry but I think you best use the cassette or pump out I can't see how much greener it is.Through in all that compost and excrement in landfill I find it the worst idea ever I can't see it been greener than flushing your cassette down a alsan point totally pointless I think your being talked into a bad idea I wonder if the refuse company's are happy about this.

    • @TheNomadicCrobot
      @TheNomadicCrobot  2 года назад

      your absolutely right, we may need to end up using it as a cassette loo until they sort out more collection points like they have around the London area, as disgusting as it sounds there is also the option of actually composting it in a tank , were also quite sure more points are going to be opened as so many people have these types of loo, thanks for your comment :)
