- Abandoned Pizza Hut - New Philadelphia, OH. Today we strike out by coming across yet another closed up and forgotten Pizza Hut. To my surprise, I discovered there are several locations in the area of New Philadelphia, Uhrichsville, and Dennison. A few of these dine in locations were closed as well as repurposed for some.

No One Out Pizzas The Hut.
Two Pizza Huts are closed in New Philly (my town). The other one is on the Boulevard (4th Street) which is now an insurance agency. The building still resembles a Pizza Hut. The only thing left is that tiny drive thru thingy in Dover. It is a new location for us here.
Right! I'm from the area, and im thinking i can't ever remember a pizza hut in dover..

I grew up in that area. There was a Pizza Hut in urichsville, 2 new Philadelphia and Dover. I’ve been to all of them quite a bit! That was my favorite place to eat growing up!
I ate there probably eight years ago. Sad to see them closed though I don’t work up in that area any more.
I am from Dover. We lost a Pizza Hut in Uhrichsville, Dover, New Phila, and I believe the one in Bolivar in our county.
I don't think I've ever seen a Pizza Hut with a solarium in front. As a kid in the 90s, my home Pizza Hut in Belle Vernon, PA had the vintage red hut roof, then was torn down and remodeled to the boring shoe box design. Luckily where I live now, in Irwin, PA, the Pizza Hut here still has the vintage red hut roof, and best of all, with the vintage Pizza Hut logo seen clearly on the side of the building facing our McDonalds Big Mac Museum! So I can appreciate it for sure! I remember the Pizza Head commercials!
With the solarium, it almost looks like it used to be something else before it was a pizza hut. Rax restaurants seem to always have a solarium.

We have a closed pizza hut here in stow Ohio. I remember they had a five minute pizza pan deal. They had five minutes to have it at your table or you got it free. Hey, they're making the restaurants smaller because nobody wants to work. All the elders are dying off. Young people don't want to work...
There were two in Medina. One by the freeway and the other by the shopping area. Both are closed and gone. Replace by a gas station and tire store.

There's 2 eat in Pizza Huts in Akron and 1 in Wadsworth that I know of.
Me and my dad drive through new Philadelphia Ohio to go to a race track i never knew this Pizza Hut was abandoned.
That commercial at the end was great. I'm always fascinated what businesses have repurposed classic Pizza Hut restaurants.

My town went through the same thing: went from a full fledged Pizza Hut to one you can't even dine in. Luckily the old Pizza Hut was replaced with Five Guys

In my area, the dine in Pizza Huts have closed and have been replaced by carryout/delivery only locations in strip centers. One location here still has the high peaked roof, but it has been painted white and the building is now an Indian restaurant. It still has the buffet, which is used for the all you can eat lunch buffet special. Thanks for the interesting video, document this history before it's gone.
Uh oh, no more dinner
By far my favorite “chain” pizza place is Pizza Hut. But I’ll bet that those ceiling fan blades are off is that they were so covered in grease and dust that they were bent (like all other pizza huts) so they removed to make them look better.
Upper valley mall in springfield ohio closes permanently this Wednesday to the public. And the Dunham sports thats across the street used to be an Ames/Hills.

There is one still open in liberty North Carolina and one closed in Greensboro North Carolina on Randleman Road
I fear the one in my town will be the next to go because lately no one has been there and a subway up the road just moved to another location up the road and I'm starting to wonder if the pizza hut in my area will move into the old subway since the building is small.
Their is also a Pizza Hut with a dining room that is still open in Mocksville, North Carolina.

Pizza Hut was great in the 80s-90s, now they got too cheap with ingredients etc and are losing all business, its no where as good
Am I the only one who likes the shoebox design? I mean I perfer mcdonalds or taco bell shoebox design because if we keep the old buildings style like the 80's/90's it would be outdated but thats just my opinion

Apparently you are familiar with the tri-state area but you're not from the tri-state area. Dover you got right and New Philadelphia you got right, you even got Dennison right, but the correct pronunciation is Ur-ics-ville (the H's are silent) not Er-eeks-ville. I know how to say it because I grew up in the area. Over the last year the "Beer Bug" closed a lot of businesses. If you can’t make you can't go out the eat. Us Buckeyes have always made our own pizza's when times were tough, and its a whole lot cheaper. If you don't live in Philly you can’t get delivery. By the time you get delivery in the country its stone cold. Going to Philly is a night out on the town. That store is closed because the people don't have the money to go out and eat. If people don't have the money to go out to eat the store can’t stay open. Now that the country is re-opening show the viewing public what places that are re-opening not the ones that are closed.
Sorry, my grammer is off but you get the picture I'm paint. People didn’t have the money to go out to eat for the last 12 months.
