Bring back the nostalgic pizza huts
I have 2 original booths that had the red and white shades on top of the boots red seats I still have the the tops remove too..there cool as heck..and I have like all the lights that hung down over the boots there that dish shaped frosted glass ones with the brass tops..guy I knew was tearing our old one down I got lucky to git them free yah the building looked just like that one with those windows...

I’m worried this might end up being the fate of my hometown Pizza Hut. Up until 2020, they were doing fantastic. Small town of less than 3,000 people in a county of less than 20,000…PH is one of THE restaurants to eat at, to say the least. Buffet was wildly popular. They closed the inside for renovations in early 2020 - I want to say just before the virus shut everything down. They did go through with the renovations and completed them sometime in mid-late 2020, but despite a refreshed interior, they remained carryout-only due to limited staffing. Fast forward to 2022, and they did finally reopen the inside for dining - but due to staffing, they couldn’t reopen the buffet, and I believe they are only doing counter service instead of having servers. What used to be a full parking lot every day at lunch and supper is now almost empty except for a few cars. The buffet is what brought people in. Meanwhile, a new Domino’s opened up in town, and they have taken away much of Pizza Hut’s carryout business. I think PH is still profitable enough to remain open, but without the buffet, it’s only a matter of time before they either sell the building and relocate to a storefront with cheap rent, or fold altogether. The buffet is still inside, waiting to be reopened. I have no doubt it would still be insanely popular if they reopened it, but I suppose it’s not feasible until they figure out their staff issues. It’s a real shame.
One of the closest Pizza Huts near me got rid of their buffet when they remodeled it almost a year ago.

It's sad what's happened to Pizza Hut. Used to be the best pizza around in the 70-80's. They turned their pizza in to garbage & took away the eat in dining experience that everyone I know, loved.
My area in Virginia has a new Pizza Hut that actually has take out Dine-in and drive-thru
This pizza hut still has the classic hut shape on the roof. I like that. People clearly don''t like to dine out and eat pizza anymore.
I actually got to record a old style Pizza Hut like this in Holts Summit Missouri. They don't want me recording it but I did anyway because I know they're going to change it up in the future

i grew up going to that pizza hut. i remember going there when i was in grade school and turning in my book it to get a personal pan pizza. that was the only time a read books to get my own pizza lol. i remember when big lots was fishers big wheel.

The Irvine KY Pizza Hut has the words Pizza Hut on all the lights over the Boths and the Pizza and bread sticks are so good

When I was going to the local PH it wasn't that great, but all you can eat buffet was the attraction.

They opened a "cheatzahut" after closing down the sit-down restaurant where I had worked decades prior. My old restaurant became a dentist's office (eastern side of Springfield, Ohio). They lopped off the "hut" portion of the roof and installed a regular roof.
I live in the area and hadn't been there for several years before they moved it. Loved it as a kid, hated it as an adult.
Maybe they took the stuff to the new Pizza Hut. So many eateries are closing...can't understand why even though they had business. Thanks Wallie.
What a coincidence, my abandoned Pizza Hut also used to look exactly like this except for the fact that the Pizza Hut building was gray and that it didn’t have a faded logo

There I think like only one or two pizza huts you can sit down in the rest are either pickup or delivery. The last pizza hut I got to eat in was in granbury Texas and they had the buffet. Think they did dinner buffet only a couple of days a week. But you could do lunch buffet either mondaybthru Friday or all week long. It's been a few years since I have been there
Across from Kiski area high school there's a seitas jewelry if it's still there an on other end was a barber 💈 shop in Leechburg

It's sad that most of the old Pizza Huts are either abandoned or housing other local businesses. Some sadly enough have been back hoed.
The thing that I remember most fondly of the old Pizza Huts is two basic things. One is the songs that I first heard on the juke box, including the Rolling Stones "Shaddered". The way Mick Jagger sings in that song made me laugh my socks off. Ironically, I also fondly remember the Early American mate's chairs. I always looked at those iconic dining chairs as an essential part of the original decor along with the red checkered tablecloths etc. Though chairs are meaningless to others, the Early American mate's chair to me is very iconic and striking because of it's "guitar shaped" solid wood seat. I noticed the guitar shaped seat the first time I sat in one of those chairs as a six year old child. I climbed up into it, gripping the seat by the edges. That's when I noticed the in-curves that give the mate's chair seat the guitar shape. That's why I look at the mate's chair like one would look at a "Christine" car. Christine is Stephen King's demonic '57 Plymouth Fury. I personally look at the guitar shaped solid wood seat the way one would look at Christine's tail fins. I also admire the ornate spindles, the ornate lathe work in the legs and cross members, and the curved and scolloped back rail, which to me is very elegant. For the second period that Pizza Hut had the mate's chairs in their old restaurants, 1976-'84, I dream that Pizza Hut's second stint with the mate's chairs was the work of Christine. I dream that it was Christine who brought them back during early morning hours. She pulled in, pulled her starboard side up to the customer entrance, and used her supernatural powers to unlock and open the door. Then the other chairs inside scooted out from under the tables simultaneously, as the mate's chairs started floating in mid air out of Christine's starboard side, from her cabin into the Pizza Hut dining room, placing under the tables.
Around my dining table at home, I have four mate's chairs that closely resemble the ones that Pizza Hut twice had. Mine are finished in oak, while the ones that Pizza Hut had were finished in dark walnut. I also have a red checkered tablecloth to go with the mate's chairs. I've had them for over 30 years, and they're still in good shape. The reason, I've always sat in 'em with proper posture, hips to the spindles!!!! I never lean back on two legs, never slouch in 'em, and never push 'em out from under the table with all of my weight on 'em. If anything was to happen to those chairs, I'd be just as heartsick as Arnie was when Reperton and his good buddies trashed Christine.
The old school Pizza Hut near me here in Lancaster, PA has become a weed dispensary.

Used to be a Long John Silvers right next to the McDonald's you saw across from what WAS Kmart. The drive thru area is where it used to sit
Oh that AutoZone at the other end of the lot, used to be a movie theater on that spot. Shut & torn down sometime after 2005.
The grassy area next to Pizza Hut with the trail was the site of a sewage treatment plant that served the shopping center. In fact, the new Taco Bell was delayed for years until the Kiski Valley Water Pollution Control Authority could connect a line to the shopping center, thus negating the old sewage treatment plant. I guess the little sewage treatment plant would have been overwhelmed by the torrent of bowel movements coming from Taco Bell.
The rumor has been Big Lots will move across the street and take up half of the vacated Kmart, with Aldi moving into the other half. Camping World bought the Washington Township school and razed it, so they will eventually vacate the Kmart parking lot. So if Big Lots moves, the old edifice will be razed and redeveloped.

There transforming Latrobe's old pizzahut into a bank. Thought it was weird. But they removed the sides and kept the roof. Well refurbished the roof.
The one in West View was abandoned for years and they tried to rent/sell it. It took a long time but O Reillys bought the land tore the building down and built a new building.
The one on Mcknight road is now a restaurant of some sort.

There Was One In Duluth On Central Entrance That Looked Exactly Like That One, But Years Ago, They Demolished It, And Rebuilt A New Pizza Hut A Few Blocks Away From Where The Old One Was, The New One's Garbage, Though!
It Also Looks Like Ours, But They Painted Ours Gray, Which I Don't Like!

they closed this building and moved across the road because the building was falling apart and the landlord and corporate did not want to fix it because of money, the womens bathroom was broken for almost a year and water started coming through the walls and flooding the dining room plus kitchen, the roof was caving in, everything that could’ve been saved appliances/ furniture was moved to different stores that needed it.
the new store is still the same staff, though the general manager is quitting in a week so who knows what’s to become of it after that because she holds it together.

They turned an old pizza hut into a Chinese restaurant. Still the old pizza hut building inside and out. But the Chinese food is really good.

The new Pizza Hut in Leechburg isn't as good as this one. They barely put any garlic on my breadsticks. Also, you should do another video on the Leechburg Kmart. They're putting an Ollie's and a Dollar Tree in there.
