Happy to see someone else feels as I do. I love everything 💘 about him. Gorgeous eyes great voice well put together. I was a little girl the first time I saw this and have loved him ever since.
He sure was. Since I first saw the movie as a little girl I've been in love 😍 with Rod Taylor tall dark and those eyes 👀. I have now seen the movie too many times to count and Rod is the reason.
Tippy Hedren is Melanie Griffiths mother. I think most people know that though. The ladies back in those days were so beautiful, elegant, glamorous and sophisticated. And they just can’t makes movies like this anymore, seems no one has the talent or imagination to make wonderful movies. Instead they come up those crappy reality shows.
Yeah Jaycee C, before You Mentioned it. I was Aware of Ms Tippi Hedren's relationship too Melanie Griffith. You look at those Two, Stunning Women at Different ages, & You Can see the Clear Resemblance too Each other. WOW, what Knock Outs they Both Are.
I think he did a good job. Making an animal that is pretty much docile, such as birds, frightening. As an example, the movie called Birddemic was rated the worst movies made. I watched some of it out of curiosity and it was so laughable.
Just so everyone knows - this is a heavily edited cut of the film (probably to avoid copyright issues.) So it's cool and all, but this is NOT the real film being posted here.
unless one suffers from some sort of latent ornithophobia this movie is meaningless and bordering on hilarious, except of course from the spectacular pictures
I really love the way women dressed I. The 1950s, I was born. In 53 and even I realised how special women looked by the end of the decade, feminine, deserving of respect from men.
The first time i remembered watching this, under the impression that it was going to be a horror, suspense type of movie. but the two lovebirds leaning in the car like that was pure brilliant humor, didnt expect that at all 😂
Lesson : never take caged love birds to bodaga bay. It's an insult to the large bird population of the bay and they will attack in protest. Everyone knows that. Lol.
This is kind of a mini peiced together movie, but still fun to watch. My parakeets love it, but I don't let them watch it too often, as, it gets them very worked up. I don't dare go near them for awhile afterwards.
Yes it is. It’s a 1950s DB2/4 Drophead Coupé and was about 10 years old when the movie was made, so she’s driving an expensive classy car but an older model, says a lot about the character. Hitchcock often added these British touches to his movies. I read somewhere that this iconic car was written off in an accident in LA in the later 1960s, not sure if that is true. A similar DB2/4 just sold for $1.1m. This one, if it existed, would be a multiple of that as this is a classic movie that remains popular.
Scene at 0:13 where Tippi is crossing the street is near the same spot/corner that James Stewart crosses at dusk in Vertigo when he is wandering which is another fav Hitchcock movie of mine but some of the scenes from The Birds are very memorable. I'm glad at the end tho when Cathy (Veronica Cartwright) took the lovebirds with her & didn't leave them behind.
Both tippi and Rodney were very good looking.i would watch the birds a hundred more times.susan plushett was gorgeous too. It's a shame she died from pulmonary . They both smoked on film. I also liked all tippi hendrens movies.
Oldie Goldie, but never boring...and Legendary... Sir Alfred Hitchcock with his moviemaking, so real and so horrified! This is also an Masterpiece of him with his beloved Tipi Heeren....
Me too! Can't remember where I saw it though. I definitely remember seeing psycho at the drive-in theater with my dad, brother and sister when 6 or 7 years old.
The ABSOLUTE BEST of the BEST thriller movies I've ever seen! HITCHCOCK'S movie, THE BIRDS, STILL captures my attention to this day! It never looses it's sense of heightened feelings of suspense, excitement, surprise, anticipation and anxiety!
i love the movie tippy hedren Rod Taylor played their roles verry well. but the ending stupid and verry dissapointed. what happend with the birds the little Village the people. etc. it was a stupid ending. but i liked the movie but the end oh.

Hitch had a thing for icy blondes - this was well-known. I heard a producer’s son say nobody doubts Tippi because it was well-known what Hitch did to her career. I commend her because I think a lot of actresses today would not have said no to him!
@@billgrey In her book, she said he did abuse her. She said he replaced the mechanical birds with real ones in the attic attack scene after she spurned his advances, and that he let the birds attack her and that was real blood you see on her.
The Birds is a classic. Good old days. Before CGI took over. I still can't get over it. Veronica Cartwright played Kathy. The little girl. In the birds. Years later. She would play in Alien 1979.
After a few months ; Puerto Rico was recovering from Hurricane Maria( September 20, 2017) I went to the supermarket, as I came out. what hitchcock did to tippi during filming and afterwards was sad- he was a sick, twisted person
There really short cameo of Hitchcock in the pet shop when Tippi visits it.
😢
Wow, this movie was really scary.Til This day, as a senior, I still love this movie. The filmmakers did an excellent job.Especially Tippi Hendrin.
Rod Taylor was one fine stud.
Sort of a more handsome Robin Williams. There's a bit of a resemblance.

We grew up watching this movie, can't help but to still watch this movie and enjoy it too now at age 64.
It's a classic. Never goes out of style.

I think he did a good job. Making an animal that is pretty much docile, such as birds, frightening. As an example, the movie called Birddemic was rated the worst movies made. I watched some of it out of curiosity and it was so laughable.
Did you see Hitchcock's cameo? He was the guy walking out of the pet store with the two dogs.
I just love the 1960's cars, clothes, shops et al in this.
I like the part when the two birds was leaning while she was going through the curves 🤣😂😂😂
Super cute. Details like that make the movie great.
A touch of humor in a horror film, funny😅.
That was too cute! 😉
Just so everyone knows - this is a heavily edited cut of the film (probably to avoid copyright issues.) So it's cool and all, but this is NOT the real film being posted here.
I think the scene where the children run from school while attacked by the birds is one of the scariest scenes in all of cinema.

Tippi Heden was lovely , it hard to believe she Decoda Johnson grandmother Melie Griffin mother . 🐦🐦🐦🐦love this film 🎥🎬☘️🇨🇮❤️♥️
*Melanie Griffith's mother*
Damn Heels and Fur coat, able to handle an Aston Martin and a boat.
This classic was horror veteran Veronica Cartwright's first thriller. She's a definite icon of the horror genre. Thanks for this !
12:03 Why in the world would they get out of the school when the birds were waiting for them outside?
Women and children always run to male protectors; the school has many stained glass windows.
I really love the way women dressed I. The 1950s, I was born. In 53 and even I realised how special women looked by the end of the decade, feminine, deserving of respect from men.
Muy cierto 👍
The echoing sound of the children singing while the birds gather on the playground equipment. So creepy
The first time i remembered watching this, under the impression that it was going to be a horror, suspense type of movie. but the two lovebirds leaning in the car like that was pure brilliant humor, didnt expect that at all 😂
This is one of my favorite Hitchcock films 😀
Top 3 for sure.

That mink, that car, the hair, Tippy looked like a million dollars! God love her!
Omg she rocked in that mink! Didn't she end up being an animal rights activist for tigers? Hitchcock was a perv!
She was one of Hitchcocks favorite actresses
Tippi Hendren is Melanie Griffith Mother
Hey everyone there was a Birds barbie doll that came out, it was an exact replica of the outfit, purse and shoes that MISS HEDREN wore in the movie.
it´s a masterpiece. Hitchcock was a true master of movie making.
Miss Hedren and miss Pleshette beautiful. The stars ⭐ ⭐
Tippi was truly gorgeous! Classic film.
Thanks for posting this movie but the edits are jarring and annoying. Think I'll wait for The Birds to play again on cable TV.
According to Tipi Alfred Hitchcock actually put her in a room full of birds attacking her for the film!
What i love in this movie (i love all Alfred's movies) is that he choose to put none music in it... NO music...only birds !
Her car is a 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 drop head coupe. Shweet.
This is kind of a mini peiced together movie, but still fun to watch. My parakeets love it, but I don't let them watch it too often, as, it gets them very worked up. I don't dare go near them for awhile afterwards.
Another thing about this classic.....there is absolutely no music score in it.
Masterful. Almost impossible to believe.
And, hard as it is to imagine, it totally worked without music!
This movie is supposed to be 1hr 59 minutes long! Someone butchered it down to almost 23 minutes long . I bet you only read cliff notes too!!!
Is that an Aston Martin? Beautiful woman , beautiful car

I think it's Italian.
the shot of Tippi smoking a cigarette by the playground as birds start gathering behind her is as iconic as it gets.

Me, too! Tippi, a devout animal rights activist, would hate that fur coat today!
A great editing job. I know the movie very well and can see how you smoothly got the entire story in 22 minutes.
I appreciate that.
A true classic!!! I can watch this movie 1000 times it always thrills me. Tippi Hedren & Rod Taylor are 2 great main actors!
Always crack me up when Melanie slaps that lady😂😂😂
This movie is a classic, and it was one of the first really scary movie's i ever watched. I was very young 😊
I knew mutton chop, potato chop, chicken chop...
Never knew there were film chops.
The world went from classy to trashy!
Some very clever early Visual Effects used here. Look how busy the action chaos is tricky shots to pull off when so much is practical effects.
Tippi and rod wonderful together
This is not the full movie. It's a "Readers Digest" condensed version in 22 minutes. Find the full version somewhere else.

This scared me as a kid it's still intense I can watch it over and over and over it's a dad blame good movie thank you so much❤
My Mom saw this movie in a theatre in Utah back in the day and when she exited and saw a flock of birds - she was scared !
Remember this Alfred Hitchcock thriller from when it arrived in Hollywood in the Cinema... Alfred Hitchcock is a genius!😊
0:23 cameo appearance by Alfred Hitchcock himself, as the man leaving the pet store with two leashed dogs

The school scene is terrifying!
This movie gives a new meaning to birds and it did to birds what sharks did to jaws
This is literally one of the best dang movies I've ever saw

All that CGI poor script writing leaning on comic books smh sad
