An incredible woman! Grace, class, dignity, and a fierce, strong, independent spirit! Her passion for animals is awe-inspiring. She actually left her man over declawing! Love her so much.
Around 1998 I worked as a customer svc rep for a cell phone insurance co. She called b/c she lost her phone. I had no idea who she was but she was very nice. She told me about her animal preserve but made no mention of having been an actress. Later on my friend told me who she was.
Tippi Hedren helped the Vietnamese refugees open nail salons, She embraced how hard the Vietnamese workers and she is the reason why most nail salons are run by Vietnamese. Shes done a lot for the community!
Alfred Hitchcock was the 1960s version of Harvey Weinstein- and Tippi Hedren was a lady, a fine and moral woman that was far too good for Hollywood......Then and now ! Thanks for the upload ! It was very interesting and informative !
@@DanielleFoster. Thanks ! I was 6 years of age when "The Birds" was released, I was probably 9 or 10 the first time I saw it. I always thought that Tippi was a lovely lady, a wholesome and beautiful person in every way. It is a shame the way the Hitchcock treated her, but her life continued on HER terms, and I really do respect that. All the best to you and to Ms. Hedren !
@@GK-ku3zv - Melanie Griffith was 18 when she and Don Johnson wed, in some states in the 1970s the age of legal consent was14, so I don't know what your issue is about Ms.Hedren, but whatever....
Since 1950, Tippi Hedren has appeared in a series of television and features. Since the 1990's, she had to rebuild her own career. In addition she was also able to devote a lot of time to animal welfare causes and despite her troubles in Hollywood. During the height of the Vietnam War, she was doing humanitarian work with Vietnamese refugees. One such endeavor involved her with 20 women and helping them to resettle in the US. And the women were apparently quite fascinated by her manicured fingernails, as she sxplained in an interview with the BBC. Besides acting, she loves big cats. Today she is one incredible woman with such grace, class, dignity, and a fierce, strong, independent spirit.
If you see how Tippi was dressed in, "The Birds" you can see THEE EXACT SAME attired blonde in, 'Vertago'. Hitchcock had a savage fetish he played out on real women.
I love Hitchcock, but honestly, what an asshole. If he were alive today, perhaps he'd be subject to the comeuppance that a Harvey Weinstein might be. I can't change my affection for Hitch's movies, but I have a growing affection for the strength of Tippi Hedren and her unflinching self-assuredness. She's really the embodiment of 'woman' in both her wisdom and strength as a person in the face of adversity. It's truly sad that she didn't get the chance to realize all her potential as a star actress just because some male director slob couldn't see that she was a human being above him in every aspect, regardless of his directorial accomplishments! I must admit to a Hitchcockian obsession with her beauty and charm. It's just a shame that Hollywood has taken so long, and been so brutally dishonest in dealing with, the trying and debilitating aspects of its approach to attractive women under its heavy-handed governance. She is, and I'm sure will always be, a truly class act! More power to her.
And this why Vertigo is said to be a reflection of Hitchcock himself. His obsession with blond women. Jimmy Stewart essentially played a facet of Hitchcock's personality.
Tippi Hedren's FATHER was of German and Scandinavian decent. She was English, Irish etc. from her mother's side. The video commentary only got half of it.
I liked her in both movies n found her to be a talented actress....She loves to tell this AH story of him signing her to a $500wk contract n then refused to star her in any projects unless she granted him exclusive rights to her lady lumps.....What has failed to disclose is the sample she gave that blew his mind n left him yearning for MORE....I will say this....if the man became OBSESSED....that must have been some good........
Chase, respect, should always be considered with directors and so many of them took advantage of starlets or young actresses trying to work in Hollywood. Even Natalie Wood who was a star at a young age was sexually assaulted by Kirk Douglas who she was told by her mother to go and see him about getting parts as a young star. Her mother should have gone up the stairs instead of sending her 15 year old daughter to speak to Kirk about parts. It seems he was a big shot and abused a lot of women in his time and took pleasure in raping Natalie Wood who he told her to come back again. I blame her mother who should have known what kind of a jerk Kirk Douglas was to influence directors and many other high profile men in the business. Shame on her mother for thinking about the greed for money.
You sold her short on the Viatnamese mail thing…she made a deal with the initial 20 that they had to go out and teach 20 each who would then gout out and teach 20 each etc etc which is why the Vietnamese dominate that industry
Declawing is absolutely sickening. Glad she stood her ground against it.
Sad to say 99% don't stand there ground...and they probably sleep there way to the top

Tippi is a very classy professional woman! Loved her movies!! ♥️ Very beautiful woman indeed!

She had pure beauty and class :) As a young boy I think i fell in love with her in The Birds :) Then i was memerized by her in Marnie....
And a clean reputation with men

No, he wasn't. His behaviour may have been wrong but it was very restrained compared to that of Weinstein. There is no comparison.
She allowed her under age daughter to move in with Don Johnson.

She is gorgeous 😻😊
I just love her! Lives life on her own terms and truly cares about animals and people. A true humanitarian.
I saw this movie The Birds a couple of times. Good movie😊
Mom and daughter look so alike .Horrible she was so bullied and harassed . Beautiful lady with huge heart .
She is wayyy better looking then her daughter and granddaughter. Who would think grandma would be the best looking of the bunch? Lol
So should see Stella Melanie griffin another daughter she’s gorgeous
You are so shallow I mean what does that Statement even mean I mean get a clue that clue get a life

I have always loved the name Tippi,
it's so cute.
With only a few movies under her belt, she was a far better actress, yes actress not actor, than any in Movies these days.
Gorgeous Lady I loved her in The Bird's
If you see how Tippi was dressed in, "The Birds" you can see THEE EXACT SAME attired blonde in, 'Vertago'. Hitchcock had a savage fetish he played out on real women.
A next door neighbor's daughter went to high school with tippi!
Her daughter is Melanie Griffiths.
Her granddaughter is Dakota Johnson, who appeared in the film, fifty shades of grey.
I'm with her on de-clawing. It's cruel.
So, Hitchcock became a "psycho"?
Billy Mumy was in a Hitchcock episode (Bang you're dead) and said Hitchcock was a horses ass!
I saw this movie as a child. It still scares the heck out of me. I haven't watched it since. 😃
Alfred Hitchcock behaved the way he did because the society, culture and system back in the day allowed it, now its unthinkable.
What an amazing woman
Tippi looks like Nicky Hilton, maybe the Scandinavian and German ancestry as the Hiltons are of Norwegian ancestry
She went from a crazy guy thowing birds at her to a crazy guy throwing lions at her.

Too many people today think that animals are toys; cartoon characters, and they're oddly surprised when they find out that they're not!
"ROAR" is a film in my mind a nightmare.
Very interesting. I learned a lot from this that I'd never heard about, the cats, the nails, Very cool.
What a terrific bio, in every way.
I was Sr VP of ASPCA and I met Tippi at Spago's in LA... Nice lady. Love Melanie!!!
She’s awesome. Hitch did her dirty, but glad she ended up OK. Dakota Johnson is a gem.
Happy Birthday! 🎂 93 Today 1-19-2023 A lovely person with a beautiful heart!
The greatest horror story directed by Alfred Hitchcock was his own life.
Grandaughter is Mrs. 50 shades of Grey
Poor woman!
She was too good for Hitchcock's antics!
👋Hello from Minnesota.
Tippy es "Marnie" con Sean Connery Maravilloso Film.(Suspenso)🌹🎞️💖📽️🤩👠👜👠🕶️
Read the book Marnie, it will leave you shocked, better than the movie. I have the VCR movie.
I was saddened when this ended. I was hoping to hear her say Tippi “Hedren” a few dozen more times.
Out of all his gorgeous blonds...she was perfection.
She was an honorable woman.
No reason to be vague about it she really did create the Vietnamese nail salon business - it grew from the seed she planted.
And this why Vertigo is said to be a reflection of Hitchcock himself. His obsession with blond women. Jimmy Stewart essentially played a facet of Hitchcock's personality.
Another case of a KING doing what kings do best, destroy other people's lives.
And she's still here❤
Wow ❤ she is such amazing lady
Great 👍 video!!
No matter how much you train tigers and lions they will still kill qne and hurt you there not meant to be pets or perform they are meant for wild life
I love her chic style in the Birds
Omg I’m from San Diego. Never knew she lived here ❤

what a gorgeous lady. I loved Marnie the most
🌷❤🌷
Pretty looks fade all to quickly. Nathalie Kay's, ( Tippi Hedron ) character and cold fire will endure.
Against declawing
These people are friggin' weird.
Real beauty
Hancock was very controlling
Hitchcock
The comercial wich Alfred saw he used on the initial minutes of the filme , just before he went out of the store
She looked tall in the Birds but rather petite in Marnie
Is there any proof of this
If it were today, Hitchcock would be in jail. Shame on him, she is so beautiful with tremendous talent.

I don't believe she gave him anything. This explains how obsession for her, because he couldn't have her.
I would trust those big cats more than I would have Hitchcock

Wow just wow poor tippy
Y
Wonder why she would participate in a film that demonized birds.
🌹✨💐🌸🌹✨💐saluti e complimenti signora!

No she gets her looks from her dad don Johnson..she has his face

Hahaha lol she got an award that don’t exist anymore. That’s great
Tippi❤
Oh no she had do work while filming should have stayed where …..
How tragic that the Me Too movement was a half-century plus away. Also that NOBODY around her took her side actively. 😮😢
A Divine Soul manifested in a Beautiful Body !
So came to know that Hitchcock was aweful and a psycho 😂
I can't help but wonder where Hitch could have gone with Tippi movie-wise if his obsessions didn't get in the way.
He made the actress of Vertigo bleach all hair and tint of brown, than bleach AGAIN! WHAT A MONSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She is a man
The doll thing was true, but the coffin thing wasn’t.
Melanie was n terrible actress.........Dakota was better......
I cant stand mel voice she cant act
He was such an ugly man inside and out. Bravo for Tipi and her good character.
Oh my gudness. He sounds like harvey weinstein.. sorry this happend to you tippi.. xxxxoooo
