    Tatum missed a triple double by one rebound. His defense on their centers continues to be the primary reason they can't unleash either their lob game OR corner threes. Tatum's versatility is what allows ALL of the rest of the C's to focus on narrower responsibilities and to thrive.

      JB guards Luka. Hardly a narrower responsibility. Tatum has been underperforming with regards to shooting and scoring - but the C's are so good it has not mattered. At least he still draws the attention. It's that attention that gets him all those assists. He is not a great passer by any stretch.

  • @Tone_M0NTANA

      Because Tatum is a top tier superstar, and with that comes scrutiny. I would say Tatum, Devin Booker and De'Aaron Fox are in a tier of their own as the most disrespected stars in the league. Fox gets no recognition and if he was in LA he would have been an All Star and made an All NBA team. But Tatum and Booker are both young and they’ve both been to the Finals. Tatum has done so twice, and the media still covers him like he’s some afterthought

    • @Tone_M0NTANA
      @Tone_M0NTANA 18 дней назад +1

      @@zeus4885 I don't think Fox really gets much criticism, his team just isn't good enough to compete with others in the West. It's not like people are saying "it's Sabonis' team". Devin Booker's issue is that he does nothing other than score but he's not really a dominant scorer. Tatum is literally THE BEST SF in the league and doesn't even get to play his natural position because of the way his team is built.

    • @zeus4885
      @zeus4885 18 дней назад

      @@Tone_M0NTANA The issue with Fox isn’t criticism, but its lack of coverage. Dude had a phenomenal season and the Kings had a down year struggling with injuries with an undersized roster, but he’s blossomed into a bonafide star who would have been an All Star and made an All NBA team if he was in any middle sized market. He’s one of my favorite players to watch but he’s playing in basketball purgatory in Sacramento.
      Booker and Tatum are similar in many ways. Booker also spent the entire season not playing his natural position. He played point guard on a dysfunctional team and was one of the only players top 10 in both points and assists. Booker and Tatum are both well rounded players who have led their teams to the Finals at a young age. Booker dropped back to back 40 point games in the finals and literally had the most efficient scoring tear in NBA playoff history last year.. Not sure how you can say he’s not a dominant scorer but that’s probably proof of what I’m talking about. The disrespect these players gets undermines their game and forms negative perceptions about them.
      Tatum is probably the most disrespected of them and the way NBA voters in the media move the goal posts to snub him irks me. Once the Celtics win this chip I hope all the unfair criticism and slander stops because I see Tatum as a top 5 player or somewhere close to that who should have won MVP this year

    I still think Mavs can win this but that’s simply because of how much better Luka is than everybody else on the court. Mavs in 7.

    People see what they want to see. They see Luka and words like "brilliant" and "chess" come out of their mouths. They see Kyrie and, though they don't say it, they are implying that he's just not into the game as much as he should be aka lazy. To my eyes, Luka is both a plus and a big minus. He's slower than molasses so the opponent can blow by him. Plus, he slows everybody else down to his speed. Dallas is a slooooow, dumbed-down team. They don't fly like athletic eagles.
