Kareem's rookie year: 28.8 ppg, 14.5 RPG, 4.1 APG, 82 games played.. Bucks improved by 29 wins.
After absolutely dominating college basketball for three years where they had to put in the "Alcindor Rule" to ban dunking after his first year.
21.5 years old
Crazy when a team wins by 25 and still get a C+? The disrespect
I had the Thunder as a C+ game myself. A lot more in the tank.
Disrespect? More like giving the upmost respect, they know how good that team is and know that they can play even better
The grade has aged well
Murray not being suspended for all of the things he did (nobody brings up the money sign as well) makes Adam Silver and the league look bad. People stop watching for less reasons but when they feel like it’s only for business reasons it’s tough to support.
When a $100+ billion organization feels like it makes decisions for business reasons

What are you talking about. This means we get to throw trash at the refs when we're at games. This is a great thing!

Terrible game, lackluster defense 😂
Dude is a casual who don't watch games and just look at the stat sheet to pretend he saw the game
@masstarvation me or the guy talking? Tatums rotations were ok point he was great defensively the entire game I've noticed he tends to live by the stats and not the actual play... tatum has some great screens and generated alot of opportunities on offense too
@@RezzyDocYT There are videos being made of the Celtics' great defense in that game and Tatum is featured in most of them.
@@mikotagayuna8494I haven’t seen them
At this stage in the season, beating teams by 25 is not normal. One team must’ve played pretty well enough to cause such a disparity
There was no call because a few plays earlier the refs let Jokic run through KAT without a call. So, I consider that a make-up or fair game compromise. It even seemed like Davis was telling AG that with his hand gestures while the rest of the team held back Malone.
Exactly 💯

not defending Luka's play, but a sore knee/any injury can definitely have a mental impact just as much as a physical impact. not sure how you don't understand this
@ajtoday28 you just defended Luka as you said you weren't defending him. That was funny bro.
Was it all up in his mental in Game 5-6 against Clippers? Or just the games he plays bad?

Watching a non T Wolves Playoffs game is boring asides from the Knicks game
Every other team's defense is not near the level of ours 🐺. The separation is like that of the 15' Warriors offense vs the rest of the league. We're in a league of our own!
@@weights250cute, but let’s be real they matchup well vs the nuggets. OKC or Bos would give them better games based on matchup.
@WLJ1287 We do matchup well against the Nuggets. Media, Vegas, probably even you .. didn't have Wolves dominating the Nuggets.
Suns were NOT a good matchup. 0-3 regular season. Couldn't contain the jump shooting. Playoffs = greater focus and gameplaning and more physicality .. dominated them, too.
We have been head and shoulders above the league this year in defense. Stats prove it. The eye prove it. Retired NBA players now in the media prove it.
But I agree .. Thunder & Boston should be good competition too. Unless we roll through them as well .. because .. well .. no one expected us to win either of these first matchups either
C- is wild. Typical Celtics haters 😂😂😂
The Knicks actually game planned brilliantly offensively for game 1. The high screen and role got Donte and Josh free and the pacers constant press fed into them getting easy shots at the rim, and I still thought Indiana would win the game cause every time the Knicks would score, the pacers would score again. What I don’t understand is in the last 4 minutes, Indiana went into a drop coverage and let JB basically play one on one and get to his spots even easier. That lead to a late 7-0 run that let the Knicks tie the game.
Offense looked good. They have to fix the pick n roll defense and watch the turnovers.
Also, this shift died last night when anyone got too close to SGA.
Bontemps prolly didn’t even watch the game saying Tatum stunk
The thing with the Spurs is that they don't need to be bad to have high picks next year. They have Atlanta, Toronto, Chicago, Charlotte and their own first round pick in 2025 Draft. They could be a play-in team and still draft 3/4 times in the lottery, or they could trade all those picks for Cooper/a all-star caliber player.
You can tell bontemps is upset when he goes “what are we doing here”😂😂😂

East should be a cakewalk this season for the Celtics. Let's be honest here
Rules in the current contract year had oversight on player's conduct on and off the court
Pacers been dealing with this for 30 years. It is what it is.
NBA is the only sport where people constantly say, it is the right call but we shouldn't call it, then change the rules
On many plays, "technically" they could call a travel, a foul, a technical - but don't. It enables the ability to, in certain key moments, selectively make calls that affect the momentum and outcome of the game if/when necessary. A few refs at certain times serve as agents to protect the interests of a system which is a giant revenue-generating machine.
Saying tatum was lackadaisical on defense is just awful analysis. The only thing he struggled with was his jump shot, he defended, rebounded, and kept the rock moving to find the open man.
Bontemps LOB reference!! You may be alright Tim...
Funny thing is Dallas tanked the last game of the season to guarantee getting the Thunder in the 2nd round.
I thought the seating was fixed. Win or lose they were stuck in the spot.
Bontemps clearly dislikes the Celtics
Tatum was lackluster defensively but he had three blocks including a key one on Mitchell...okay 🤣 he also has the highest +/- out all of the remaining players in the playoffs so far and is leading the team in rebounds and assists. But I guess it's all about the scoring numbers. Just say that you don't watch the games. The media really hates Tatum.
This league allows you to challenge if someone touches a ball before it goes out of bounds, but you can’t challenge whether or not something is a kick ball? Refs are human but the league must make this a challenge. You should be able to challenge anything you want with all of the cameras involved.
I felt like the NBA had serious question to answer after the Knicks Pacer game. Silver should have possibly suspended the two referees and done an investigation. There were SEVERAL calls in the last couple of minutes that were inexplicable leading up to the foul with 12 seconds left. I felt like the fix was in, and I never feel that way. For the record, I starting off the game pulling for the Knicks. Anyway, with gambling (the elephant in the room) being legal now, if Silver does not address this, I am honestly scared that someone is going to end up getting killed or something awful is going to happen. Lots of people are not buying the outcomes of these games and with big money in involved, the danger is real.
They need to do away with the L2M. It’s drawing focus away from the 46 min prior to that in close games. Close games every possession is important not just the last few.

Cavs SUCK.
And by the way, any team lead by Mitchell would suck (unless you have a defensive supestar too)

Win by 25, C- grade. Are reporters just getting jealous of the hot take shows or has basketball analysis just regressed in the last 10 years?
When jokic turns 33 he’s done they already run past him

Tim "By the way" Bontemps
"I'm not saying....... I'm just saying"
35:09 Wolves getting great looks tho
An actual football Freudian slip caught live!
The nuggets are worse this year. Murray isn’t right physically, mentally or both and it’s costing them. Jokic hasn’t been as good as he could be but he’s less concerning
People don’t realize that the Spurs have up to 5 first round picks in 2025. They don’t need to win a first round pick. They can trade all those picks to move up to a top 3 pick. Get the second star they want next to Vic, and still have cap space. This is why they are waiting another year
If he becomes a star. You never know. There have been more busts in the NBA draft than successes. Trade a boat load of picks to get 1 pick is a setup to fail. Then when you do you don't have the extra picks anymore. Look at OKC roster. Not everyone on it was a top 5 pick. You don't need a top 5 pick to get a star. J Williams by the looks of them is going to be a star. He wasn't a top 5 pick. SGA wasn't a top 5 pick. Joe the guard is a very nice price was a throw away from another team. A second-round pick. Wallace could be very good he was a 10. Dort was on another team. The point is you don't need to trade the future for a chance at 1 player who might just be a bust. Wemby baring a healthy problem is a star. Trying to crush build a team is not smart. OKC took years to build this team. They didn't rush it. The Spurs need to build a roster not get a star. Stars win nothing without a roster to go with it. Ask the Suns about that. 3 stars and no roster how's that worked out for them? Older team with no future at all and no way to build it as they traded everything to get that star(s).
@@larrylindgren9484 That was obviously in the case that the Spurs are 100% sure about a guy like a Cooper Flagg. There is amazing talent in next year class. They don't have to trade up for a top 3. They can trade for a top 5 pick. The point is they have the flexibility to build based on their vision of players. Also Spurs rarely get busts. They've built teams off the 27th-30th pick in the draft. When they get a top 10 pick they get it right
Denver is one of the more interesting teams, because we know they are good, but also they have virtually no way to get better through trades while keeping the core. So they are stuck maybe living in the Wolves NBA now and won’t get another title even with Jokic
Without Murray they aren't good. He's the only guy other than Jokic who can get his own shot. Without Murray Denver is easily out manned. Jokic will get his. But without Murray it doesn't matter. Denver doesn't beat any of the teams that are left. No one on the team scares you not even Jokic. Murray can give you 50 in a ton of different ways. Jokic gives you 30 more times than not. But it's the Murray 50 that kills you not Jokic's 30. How many playoffs series have Jokic won without Murray? None. That tells you something as great a Jokic is. He needs Murray's getting his own shot now and then. It opens the floor up for the other players even Jokic.
Mavs will never succeed with White Harden leading them.
Pants down òn the Commissioner's penalty. U have power to the safety standards/protection.
The Nuggets are a very good team but because the media is so quick to be hyperbolic and Jokic is an advanced stats guru (touches the ball all the time btw). The have been treated like a 65 win level team when they really are a 55 win level team.
C grades for a celtics 25 point blowout win lmao. Media hates celtics

Windy said that's the best defensive game played by Wolves all season. By the numbers thats not true. They had an 89 points per 100 that night. They have had 5 games better than that mark THIS season. The teams weren't Denver but the numbers say it was their 6th best game this season. It was Devers worst since 2020 when they scored 78 in a game.

There is NO way Bontemps just said Tatum stunk and was lackadaisical on defense. He didn’t watch the game. POINTS DO NOT MEAN YOU HAD A BETTER GAME YOU BOX SCORE WATCHING CLOWN
So the application of moist heat to an injury is now antiquated? Stay in your lane, fellas.
What about moist glizzies betwixt hot buns?
Boston threw 1st punch. Are the Cavaliers going to punch back with a win in Boston
Does anyone think the two dead ball calls on Indiana were actually fouls? I thought they were both (bad) jokes. Brunson flopped. By the way, the NBA either needs to get rid of the flop rule or enforce it. The correct call in multiple situation was a flop on New York.
If the Cavs had the Knicks whistle they would have a chance to win.
Easy T target? Will he be handicapped on the court?⁵
Finally somebody acknowledges the Nuggets absolute cakewalk of a run they had. Sub 50 win teams. An 8 seed in The Finals. Somehow avoided every elite PG in the west lol overrated.

I could see a lot of the older guys like Lebron, KD, Booker and others may go to Eastern Conference teams if they ever wanna get to the Finals again because Minnesota and OKC should own the West for the next 5-10 years
Cavs even though they beat Magic don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Outside of Mitchell going off in the last 3 games, the whole team is pretty much quitters. Neither are the Heat deserving (this year, though they win the obligatory 1 game against Celtics, which always has to lose at 1 or more "HTF did you lose that game?" games), Magic (though they played hard, not a playoff quality team overall), Bucks (no Giannis, and only half a Dollar--50 Cents?! :)), and probably the Pelicans (the excuse is no Zion), and even the Lakers (getting gentlemanly swept, losing 11 of last 12).
Regarding Jamal Murray, he quit, plain and simple--he WANTED to get thrown out. That's why he threw the junk TWICE--and still the NBA wouldn't be the good parent and let it slide ($100k fine to Murray is literally playing 8 minutes, but I guess that's 8 mins more than he wanted to play). Also begging to be thrown out was the Denver coach Malone (Wolves are their daddies now)--but the refs wanted him to watch his team getting stomped and didn't throw him out. I still think that in terms of basketball talent, Nuggets should still be able to at least win 1 game--there is somewhat too much hype about the Wolves' D and Ant = Next Jordan for the moment--IF they have any championship pride left. Jokic's rep will take a big hit if they get swept (though he has the built-in "Murray not 100%" excuse (but how did he beat Lakers then?)), a smaller hit if they managed to turn this into a respectable loss (going 6 games or more) in the end.
Watching these games, it's clear that 90s (let alone 80s) teams would've beaten all of these teams with ease if they were allowed to play D like the Wolves or OKC or Knicks--I'm glad the NBA is relaxing the soft no-touching rules on D for playoffs, and hope they keep it up (they're being a bit inconsistent from game to game). Seeing players like Harden and Embiid game the system with all the cheap fake fouls, flopping, and travels took a lot of joy out of watching the NBA in the last 10 years.

The Tatum Hate is real from this baldy guy. Stunk? Did you see the double and triple teams that came his way, and he had to create for his teammates? Tatum averaged 31+ ppg and it got them nowhere. Now that he is averaging less points but more assists and rebounds (while winning more and playing high-level defense) these casuals still have something bad to say. Tatum had 3 blocks, but he played nonchalant defense? He got Donovan twice and it led to some free points for Boston. Geez. This is how you know the collective intelligence of the NBA audience has gone down through the years 🤦♂ They don't even watch the games anymore, so they don't see how Tatum is absorbing double teams and making the right reads for his teammates to score easier
These kinds of shows you why Tatum it not a superstar. You can just as easily get you 50 as a 15. And you're not shocked at either. Superstars come to play every night. Tatum for all his talent can't say that.
