You're so right. There just isn't talent like that anymore. It's the Melodyne generation. I remember the days when you actually had to hit the right notes to be called a singer. I've been on the other side of the board now, and I can't believe what some people consider a "take". Now, it's the engineers who deserve all the accolades. Ronnie was magic, and just seeing him in the same room with Yngwie was a thrill. It's too bad they never collaborated before he lost his voice. That "Dream On" thing was sad.

In 1975, I was 15 years old sitting in the Beacon Theater awaiting Blackmore's Rainbow to hit the stage. Argent had just finished up and I was hugely excited to hear Rainbow and get to see their new drummer, Cozy Powell. When they opened the show and hit the first number, Do You Close Your Eyes, I sat amazed at the immensely powerful Ronnie James Dio. The range & power of his voice, the attitude & showmanship; floored me like no other before or since. I saw Robert Plant live many times, I saw Ozzy live many times, I saw Paul Rodgers, Steven Tyler and many, many more live onstage. No one ever commanded an audience to Rock Out with The Music like Dio. Rest In Peace RJD.

lol, I can relate! I think it was 1976 or 77, my first concert with "stoner" friends ,I was 15 had to endure REO Speedwagon and THE GODZ, and out comes Blackmore's Rainbow, and this small guy's giant voice leapt into my soul!!! And I turned to my friend Chris and said "whoooo is THAT???" and he said "DIO !!!!" life changed

@@floodgatestudios1825When I was around 15 I played the Rainbow Rising album so much that I wore out the grooves ..lol
I was already a Blackmore fan and now Dio was right up there with him.
Than, my cousin, sister and I went to see them at Royal Oak Music Theatre in Michigan back in 1978 or maybe 79.
Imagine my shock and horror when some James Dean looking fuck takes the stage and starts singing !!
I was devastated!! Where's DIO !!? This is NOT Rainbow !! Lol
I learned to appreciate Graham Bonnet, but that was my first concert and I was so pumped to see Dio and hear him sing Stargazer.

Anyone remember the guitar instructional magazine "Guitar for the practicing musician?" I got a year subscription for Christmas 1984. I was 16 years old. The centerfold was a picture of all the singers in a choir formation for this song. That poster was on my wall until I moved out of my parents' house at age 20. I spent countless hours staring at that poster trying to put a name to all the faces. I got most of them but there were a few I could never get. What I wouldn't do to get that poster back. Thanks to whoever posted this. Great adolescent memories.

    Hear 'n Aid - "Stars "…,
The song was recorded in 1985 and
to raise money for famine relief in Africa.
    It is the year 2020.
Ronnie James Dio who was one of the promoters of a one-off project
    died, and ten years passed…
Coronavirus spreads worldwide and is the beginning early next year.
To many fans and the supporter of the world
loving the Hard Rock / Heavy Metal music…
Keep up the fight against Covid-19!
The more we all do now, the sooner we'll beat this invisible enemy.
Don't lose to the disease .
Let's spend a yell to all healthcare professionals
and medical staff in the world.
To every Essential Worker on the front lines
in the battle against the disease :
    Thank You !
You should reevaluate this charity song.
This Hard Rock / Heavy Metal song should be reevaluated all over the world !
Let's listen to this song together , sing it loud !
I pray so that the whole world returns to peaceful daily life.
