They were massive in the USA; their sales would've made them huge Millionaires.
They were huge in their homeland Australia before they went and conquered the USA.

"Diamantina Cocktail' was the first Australian album to reach Platinum sales in the USA.

There were two singers for LRB - this song (originally recorded in 1978 and written by guitarist Graeham Goble) features vocalist Glenn Shorrock who was the singer for most of the band's career in the 70s and reunited in the late 80s for their hit "Love Is a Bridge", and in the early to mid 80s, Johnny Farnham was frontman - his biggest hit with the band was "Playing To Win". This brings back so many memories- a song like this with its distinctive piano intro is literally like a key that reopens my teen years like a vault. This song and others like it were playing in the background like a soundtrack.. on the radio in my bedroom, on dates in my mom’s 1966 Pontiac.. or even on my bike where I had mounted a transistor radio. Thank you for taking me back to those wonderful days.

What an amazing band...their talents were unbelievable - and Glenn Shorrock has been a part of three of Australia's greatest bands - The Twilights (1960s), Axiom (with the brilliant Brian Cadd) in the 1970s and LRB in the 1980s, and of course his own solo career. Little River Band, though, just exploded - apparently when they first took off overseas, some people in the USA thought they were a band from the American mid-west, they had that sound. Another band that makes me proud to be an Aussie - we have so much fantastic talent here 🇦🇺❤️

Recently discovered your great channel and it brings much joy and nostalgia. Grew up in 70s & 80s and really enjoy seeing and hearing your candid reactions and comments. I find myself sometimes binging late at night “sharing” music together with you guys and everyone else tuning in. It’s therapeutic in ways I addiction to listening to great music. As for ‘Lady’ it is my favorite song and so glad Jay & Amber chose it. Keep up the great sessions - Thank you both!

Thank you so much for all your reactions. Unfortunately the new year is not treating me well so far. I don't mean to drag everybody down, but ... I have chronic pain from a worsening case of Tourette's Syndrome that is just driving me nuts today. On the good side, your reactions help tremendously to ease my pain. And, Amber, I want you to know that the wonderful message on your shirt helps me too! "All you can do is your best." I guess that's right. I can't always do everything I want, but I always try my best. I guess what I'm trying to say is ... thank you. You just seem like really good people, and I want you to know that your positivity and music reactions help me every single day! And Jay. Just know that I'm rooting for your Bengals to take down the Bills on Monday Night Football! GREAT SONG! GREAT REACTION!

@@jimfussell5589 i understand all too well. I am in pain all the time since I got hit by a car almost 7 years ago. I have also been dealing with a lot of medical neglect because of doctors not listening to me. I come to Jay and Amber’s page and use it to escape for just a little while from the world. I love how they get into the music and let it carry them away.

So glad you are reacting to this great Aussie band. This is one of my favorite bands of all time and yes they always had great harmonies and great guitarists. Every member could sing which enhanced their harmonies. Richard below just listed a number of their hits I would recommend as well and another Down On The Border. Just subbed.
