June 11 would have been 41 years married for my wife and me. Miss you babe.
So sorry to hear that. May her memory continue to be a blessing. ✨ 💗
@@NicknLex Thanks so much. It is.
Yes--Reminiscing, and Lonesome Loser, and Lady!!
Take it easy on me, Help is on it's way, Lonesome Loser, Lady, great great songs and many many more
The Night Owl
@@thorolsen8057 another excellent song, I honestly don't think they have a bad song
the farther you get into the LRB catalog of music you will be blown away by the music, the harmonies, and just how the songs get better and better, I'm excited to take this ride with you guys and the rest of the NicknLex RUclips family.
"Help is on its Way" is another great upbeat song
Have you done "Cool Change" yet? One of my favorite LRB tunes! Miss the live chats you guys used to do. Hoping you'll do more here soon....maybe when you hit the 100,000 mark. Peace and Love guys!
Nope not yet! Soooo much left to discover!! 😁 Thanks for your constant love and support Mr. Mojo!! ❤️ 🎶
here's a word from the past, they have a groovy sound to them.
I love "Lonesome Loser" and "The Night Owls"! 🥰❤️
"(Hang on) Help is on it's way" and "How long has this been going on" are nice too. 👌🏼
To answer your question, “Reminiscing” was the lead single off their 1978 album Sleeper Catcher (the follow-up to this album). And a terrific album cut you should check out from THAT album, is “Light Of Day”. 🙂
I can’t believe how close you are to 100K. I got my party hat and dancing shoes ready. 👍👍❤️❤️
Just such a great band.....so polished and their harmonies are to die for! So glad I saw them live in '76 when they were just getting started, they were so great live even then.
'78 for me at the Old Waldorf in San Fran. They were soooo good.
They usually open up the concert with this which is incredible... It's one of the best opening songs I've ever heard of any band...
Always love this song and this band ❤
the bass player and lead singer for the group Level 42 is also a bass slapper, Level 42 has a great song named, " Something about you', great song, maybe you two would check it out and react to it someday.
Australian Steely Dan! I can see that especially with the musicianship that LRB has. Very versatile and outstanding vocalists and great harmonies. They do mix the Funk and jazz quite well. With that Reminiscing is something completely different and unlike anyone else’s work save Big band sounds of the 40’s. They are quite unique and one can make a solid argument for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Very nice song, great composers and musicianship garanteeing a good time!
LRB was a favorite back in the late 70's and is still today. This style of music is what we listened ti when having a party at a friend's house or apartment for those of us that were not into disco. It was always such good background music while hanging out with friends for the evening.
Great reactions guys, appreciate it
the lead singer Glenn Sherrock said most of the harmonizing was three guys standing around one microphone, Glenn Sherrock, Beeb Birtles and Graeham Goble, incredible harmonizing
Finally!! Suggested this track after your 1st LRB reaction. This track was a single in the UK when I saw then live. They sounded just as good live! Great track.
So many great tracks from this band !! amazing harmonies 😀
LRB is awesome. I forgot how much I like them. I'm trying to think of my favorites by them to tell you guys. I can hear the Steely Dan in there.
Congratulations Scott on your Dan anniversary! A very cool song choice. The slap bass got me thinking of early Level 42.
Don’t forget the pop 🤪
I always called it Slapping and Popping.
@@scottanderson8420 I'll never forget the pop Scott!
Aussie Steely Dan is a good description. Love LRB.
I first came across LRB when their (then) new single ‘Curiosity killed the cat’ was playing in Australia on a show called Countdown - a bit like Top of the Pops. It must’ve been around 1975 and I was 13 at the time.
Great selection. Little late, doing some catching up. Happy Anniversary Scott A. Always great selections.
Graeham Goble wrote the song Reminiscing, he said he wrote the song from his imagination of how a first date would be and how the years with that special someone would progress, the lead singer Glenn Sherrock didn't like the idea or the song, Graeham had to talk Glenn into singing the song, once he sang the song and heard how went and progressed and how popular the song became, Glenn liked it more and more, it became one of The LRB's top commercial hits, it was played a lot on the radio back in the 70's and 80's and even today.
Saw the LRB in the 90's at the Valley Forge Music Fair.👍
I Love how Lex laughs at Nick, very funny but Nick don't you worry bud, we're laughing with you, LOL, I Love how you both get into the pocket and really feel the music when it goes into your heart and soul and you just feel it, very cool.
2 members of the American LRB are former member of the band, the bass player and the guitar player, the bass player is the lead singer of the American version
the first time I heard The Little River Band, I forgot to send back my Columbia House Record and tape card and Little River Band greatest hits cassette tape was the choice on the card and the tape was delivered, I kept it, played it and fell in love with their music, this was back in the late 70's early 80's, I've been a big fan ever since , Love them
Discovered a lot of music by forgetting to reply on time.
I signed up for Columbia House in mid 80's. They would send an album every month and I never paid them.
@@penelopehornswaggle102 really?, my mom made me pay them, Columbia House is how I built my record collection, cassette tape collection and I how i discovered rock bands I never heard before and now Love their music
Happy Dan Anniversary with some slappin and poppin on the bass. I was breaking up with one of my first girlfriends to this song back in the day. If you want to see the real LRB you probably have to go to Australia. The Key songwriters are Gobble Birtles and the singer Shorock.
Goble, Birtles and Shorrock - just saying.
I was commuting at the time thanks for the corrections.
Visions of 1970s smoke filled nightclubs all over again. This used to be what they call a floor filler. Not long to go now, guys. Get ready to parrrrtttyyyy🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉.
Big collared disco shirts unbuttoned down half way. Casting dubious and sideways glances at the dance floor, while holding a Tom Collin’s cocktail with a miniature umbrella dancing in the glass.
🤣@@scottanderson8420 You've got it.
Love your Montreal t shirt love your channel .
The guy that now owns the name Little River Band was a joining member after a few had left. After a few years all original members have left and he was left with the rights to the name. The original guys have started touring again under their own last names,
The Eagles said the harmonies were better than their own.
Disco era!
Indeed everybody dabbled.
So glad someone got to this song! The cappella harmony is killer
400 to go!!!!
Oh my! Sometimes I play this song on our Wedding anniversary (the first part anyway). My wife likes this song. Been married for 33 years and still going. It's such a great song. Another song I really like is "The Night Owls"
That’s so sweet! 🥹 💗
Hi Nick and Lex, I had forgotten about this tune from LRB. Good to hear it again.
If you haven't checked out "Lonesome Loser" from these guys, I highly recommend it.
Hey, I remember this song but didn’t remember it was by LRB! Happy Anniversary to my fellow Dan member Scott! Always a wonderful contributor to the channel. Almost 100K!
Yeah another year of monthly requests filling in the musical cracks.
Thanks at Scott A.!
👍
Scott thanks for this pick ..I'm a big fan of this group and song and a fan of your great marathons
Thanks Stephen anxious to hear your requests as well. 😀😀
I love this song. I understand it's about a guy that's thinking about his wife or gf who's split.
But in spite of this, on one of our anniversaries, I set it up on a CD player set on song repeat so the song would go until stopped. My late wife was gone in the day and I worked nights. So I started it before I went to work and she heard it when she got home. I hoped that she wouldn't realize the meaning of the song and would zoom in on the Happy Anniversary theme. She didn't and she did, and she was very happy. A good ending. (finally, one of my efforts worked! LOL)
Definitely listen to “Cool Change” next then “Lady”
These guys were an incredible live act & they blew both Fleetwood Mac & Santana off the stage at Rockarena in Sydney late 70’s
Such brilliant harmonies & musicianship. They represented Australia on the big stage and stood tall.
ruclips.net/video/uMV6-dacuuc/видео.htmlsi=KYAWI4hiedydQML-
I saw them about 7 years ago not the originals by they sounded great and are keeping the music alive
Home On Monday another good one
Similar situations have happened with Renaissance, Yes, Wishbone Ash, Asia and Steppenwolf. It doesn't mean the latest band is 'fake'. It just means that over time the previous members have left, been replaced and or died. And then, if those people (except the dead ones) want to get back together they can't call themselves the same band name because there is an existing band that is still a working band. The original Renaissance with Jane Relf and John Hawken had to call themselves 'Illusion' (last album title they had as Renaissance) instead of Renaissance since there was an existing Renaissance with Annie Haslam. Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howe couldn't call themselves Yes, because there was Chris Squire with Trevor Rabin's version of Yes. The original members of Asia wanted to get back together in 2006 and there was an existing Asia with John Payne, etc., etc., etc. It doesn't mean they're 'fake'. The revolving door of 'bandom' sometimes bites you in the arse. That is just how it is. Some fans get over zealous and frankly have no clue what they're talking about and then fall for the hype.
here's what happened with The LRB, a bass player that played with the band back in the 70's and 80's left the band because he didn't get along with some of the other members of the band, he sings their song "Night Owl", Great song, The original members of the band never bought the rights to band's name because I guess they never thought that someone would buy the name out from under them, so I guess out of spite, the bass player that left the band bought the name Little River Band and the three original members Glenn Sherrock, Graeham Goeble and Beeb Birtles sued the bass player saying he had no right to buy the name Little River band out from under the original member's noses and it's still to this day being battled in court, plus the rights to playing the original music. this how I understand the whole situation. I bought 3-4 Buy me a coffee requests, one of the songs is " Lonesome Loser buy the Little River Band, just wondering when you guys will be reacting to my request?
Go to buy me a coffe and look under extras at the top and select a music with Nick request or pick a marathon. 😀😀😀
@@scottanderson8420 Ok, Thank you very much for your help Scott, I greatly appreciate it
I think you'll find it wasn't Wayne Nelson (bass player) but Stephen Housden (guitarist) who grabbed the rights to the name after the companies set up by Glenn Wheatley lapsed. Nelson went on to play with John Farnham's band for several years before returning to the States and rejoining LRB. Housden left the band a few years later but retained the rights to the name and has been a pain in the arse to Glenn Shorrock, Graeham Goble and Beeb Birtles who have been unable to work under the LRB or Little River Band names since. They now perform as Birtles, Shorrock, Goble.
@@mrmockatoo6786 I checked into it a little deeper last night and you're 100% right, it was Housden who grabbed the rights to the companies created to make up the LRB, I rewatched the documentary last night and got it all straightened out, thank you for helping me to get it right.
@@davidhess8049 You're welcome, mate . No worries 👍
Parts of this kind of reminds me, of “Earth, Wind and Fire”.👻
i forgot hw groovy vis track is, nice 2 c u doscovering lrb n enjoying ver quality music, try shutdown turnaround, vey prob torued canada?
Thanks Scott. Just wanted to pop in and say that a couple of books are at the mailing address given. But it said it was handing to someone at a desk, named Korina. I was not expecting that, so I hope it is the right place. It's just the Autobiography of a Yogi and Siddhartha, which you may already have anyway. Pardon the intrusion. :)
Some good reading 😀
@@scottanderson8420 Thanks Scott! I'm re-reading the Autobiography, and listening to a reading of the book, and am about halfway through it. I read it in the '70s along with listening to the four Yes shastras (Revealing, Remembrance, Ancient, Rituals) as discussed in the footnote at the bottom of page 86, from the edition they have, and now I again have. Just now I see that the great Ben Kingsley reads it as well, which I shall have to shift over to. It is here on RUclips: ruclips.net/video/25UcblfYQ2A/видео.html
👍👍👍👍👍
I've heard LRB called Australia' The Eagles
Try "Cool Change". Another great Song... But there ain't really a bad Song from LRB
The NicknLex song requests are sold out, do you know when that will be available again?

@@NicknLex you're welcome NicknLex...
it is probably a get out of jail free card, LOL
Reminiscing 1978
Woah, quietly sneaking up on 100K. Less than 400.
And they're Australian.
LEX IS SO HOT WHEN SHE PLAYS THE AIR GUITAR
LRB.
Cool Change is a far better song....
Don’t bother with the current LRB, it’s not the original band. Basically a cover band, no original Australian members, as others have mentioned. I wouldn’t go if I got a free ticket.
Little River Band have exactly one good song, and this isn't it. They remind me of bad elevator music. That said, music is subjective so there are probably some people who actually like this...
