It's OK to a point but it has many problems. Imagine long waits, doctors who don't give a damn because they have too many patients to cram in to a day to meet targets. Overworked nurses and hospitals run for political targets not to fix the health of people who need it. That's just the beginning of what is wrong with the NHS, and it's not fit for purpose. But, I still wouldn't swap it for the US healthcare system.
@@EgoChip I live in Ireland which has a hybrid system of health care. Some people on low or modest incomes get a medical card which entitles them to free doctors and hospital care and essential functional dental care. The waiting lists for some non fatal procedures is very long and slow but in general urgent cases are handled quickly enough to avoid death. The consensus is that once you are in the system the care is reasonably good but there are gaps which are hot political issues and topics for argument and discussion, much like the UK NHS system. This may seem bad to outside people but the fact that open, frank and honest discussion and heated differences of opinion are allowed is a good sign that at least there is little or no cover-ups and corruption in the system. In Ireland most middle income and well off people pay doctors and consultants for the initial consultation which is rare in the UK. This basically keeps waiting times in doctors surgeries low as people will not waste time and money on trivial cases but will only go when the case is urgent. Not the case in the UK where you could be waiting all day to see a doctor and week long waiting lists are common. Certain chronic diseases get taken care of with a special non-means tested medical card which entitles the bearer to free care but these are politically contentious as some chronic conditions such as asthma are not covered while type 2 diabetes, for example, is. This amounts to an arbitrary system, a sort of chronic disease lottery where some things are covered and some are not. Another aspect in Irish Healthcare is the almost complete absence of drug advertising. Prescription medicines are not advertised and OTC medicines are only lightly advertised not as intensely as they are in the US. Unfortunately UK TV advertise OTC medicines heavily compared to the Irish practice and, since a lot of TV in Ireland originates in the UK, this cultural acceptance of heavy reliance on medication is becoming common in Ireland.
@@EgoChipstill rather have that then have people die or go bankrupt over medical bills. People already don't want to go to a hospital because of that reason alone even with insurance it's still expensive. I don't see why they can't have if people want that level of fast care.

They don't care about paying out compensation, they are set up for that.
I'd like to see how they would react in the same circumstances. Nobody is going to be happy about being denied treatment they need on the whim of men in suits. I bet everyone uses colourful language. Taken to the sheriffs office where I was put in prisoner transport and taken to county jail. My parents all the while were calling the jail, wondering why I was arrested and if I needed bail. 24 hours later I was released, was not allowed to go home or even drive my car because my parents names were on the lease along with mine. Unbeknownst to me, I had a restraining order put upon me by the state saying I was not allowed within a hundred feet of my house, parents or any property they owned. I got a state appointed lawyer who looked at my case and pretty much shook his head going, ‘you have felony battery for… throwing a cup of water on your dad… *insert lawyers sigh*. My dad had to go in front of a judge to get the restraining order lifted and charges expunged - judge denied him.

Then I guess you have a Cadillac level health ins policy. Most people don’t.
@@EgoChipstill rather have that then have people die or go bankrupt over medical bills. People already don't want to go to a hospital because of that reason alone even with insurance it's still expensive.
I don't see why they can't have if people want that level of fast care.
@@kathyjones1078 No I live in the UK.
So a corporation who will cost her her life can kill but she can’t return the treatment….
Everyone has the right to be angry. And yes, if threats are made then the person on the receiving end has every right to report them to the police. But it's so obvious even to a monkey that these were just empty words said in the heat of the moment in anger, and she did not in any way deserve what she went through. They know exactly what they are doing too, they know there's a good chance she will get released. But the whole point of this was to put her through that dehumanising process, because they can. They don't care about paying out compensation, they are set up for that.
She should absolutely sue. Plenty of lawyers would be interested in her case.
Most news sites fail to mention that she’s a mother of 3 with no criminal history. “Florida woman threatens health insurer” seems to be the headline
The FAKE NEWS MEDIA!!!!
I'd like to see how they would react in the same circumstances. Nobody is going to be happy about being denied treatment they need on the whim of men in suits. I bet everyone uses colourful language. Maybe some people have the ability to bite their tongue, but if you are sick you are going to have a lot less strength to hold back.
meanwhile that ghoul who got shot in NY is a father and a husband apparently
FAFO
@ boot licker!
She was released and charges were dropped. It's not a credible threat of violence if it doesn't include specifics. She needs a gofundme to sue the city, county, and state for objectively violating her civil rights and the pain and suffering of being arrested, taken to jail, and having her picture released to the media. She'll get millions of dollars if she has people backing her up. Let's do this, guys.
But ultimately it's still our money and it changes nothing. We need to do more. We need to force change not work within the corrupt system to continue screwing ourselves.
This is Polk County Florida - Grady Judge is the sheriff. I'm surprised she made it to jail alive.
Typical grossly entitled fascist conservative russian-republican jim crow welfare state policing which is a threat to real Americans everywhere.
Im sure they roughed her up on the ride over
Grady Judd just seems like the kind of guy who would love insurance companies
@@AtmosphericPhenomenonThe party of personal responsibility simply cannot accept responsibility for their policy's just like their dear rapist leader dump.
Keeping her in prison is only going to make things worse with these companies.

Jailed for her speech. Literally jailed for 3 words. Whoever reported her, I hope you're happy with your lot in life; denying coverage to desperate people so your boss can get a 4th boat.
saying 'Your next' is a threat but im glad she is out
the police look like lemmings at this point
Hey everyone, she is not “free”. She is on house arrest and is facing charges which carry a sentence of up to 15 years imprisonment. So her ordeal is far from over.
How do we help her?
@@Spartan-Of-Truthher go fund me. It’s currently at 28,000

Appreciate Matt’s energy lately. Keep it going brother
Absolutely, Matt is on🔥 keeping it 💯(and Emma & and the MR Crew)❣️
Hoping people will also see how gleeful cops are to defend their corporate masters.

I was going to say he has the IQ of a child but that would be an insult to children.
Yeah, at least children know that groceries don’t keep apples in fridges 😂
If he was a child, then his frequent activities at pageants and Epstein Island would be in totally different contexts
It sounds like the lady was just blowing off some steam. She should be released immediately. She shouldn't spend another night in jail.
Won’t anyone think of the CEOs. Their feelings are being hurt
Free Brianna and free Luigi
Gofundme says she's been released with no charges!
Yeah, I read that too, but NOPE, still charged. Arraignment on Jan 14th apparently.
they consider it to be a threat because they know their own intent whenever they sign off on delaying, defending, and deposing.
It's: Deny, Delay, Defend. Deposing is what the killer did to the CEO bastard. Depose means; To remove from office or power.
If this is not tyranny, I don't know what is. First Amendment retaliation at its best.⚖
At least you guys have a constitution. Here in the UK, we are screwed without it.
This is obscene, what happened to freedom of speech?
Freedom of speech doesn't mean you have the freedom to threaten people or companies for that matter.

What Briana had said couldn't have been seen as a threat, what she said could mean that the person she was talking to could go through the same thing that she had been through with his/her own health insurance provider.
I hate this country more each day
Many of us share the same sentiment too. I can't wait to leave this dumpster fire that is getting worse by the day.

Health care should be publicly funded, not a vessel for corporate profit. Make the corporations and the rich pay their fair share of taxes and the whole system will be self-funding.
No, just no to everything. I do NOT want the government involved in my healthcare, EVER.

Would appear that the Polk County Sheriff, Pok County Prosecutor and Polk County Judge are all working on behalf of the largest corporation in their county and serving that corporation, not the public.
This needs to be pinned.
She did nothing wrong.
And she is right. We must hold health care insurance companies accountable.
I live in FL, and was charged with felony assault and battery for throwing a quarter of a cup of water on my Dads shirt during an argument. He didn’t charge me - the cop did. He called the cops thinking they’d come over and give me a good talking to and scare me for raising my voice and scaring my mom. I was shackled at the ankles, cuffed behind my back, walked out. He then had to go to the DA and have them remove the restraining order and expunge the charges. It took almost 2 months before I was legally able to go home. All for a cup of water. Florida! ‘Merica!
I was arrested after being attacked in my own house. RI. He was a felon. I'm a veteran no criminal history. I had to have him EVICTED he refused to leave my effing house.

I come from the former "Soviet puppet state". A "people's republic". The famous quote from one of the officials was: "Whoever raises a hand against The Party, can be certain, that The Party will cut this hand off."
What the Cold War and later media never really accurately portrayed about the polarised world is that this applies to both sides.
Are they deliberately trying to provoke the public to actually do something?
So they've essentially abducted her.

What's really sad is that the insurance money that was denied to this lady for medical care will be provided in prison by taxpayers dollars. Why is it that you have to lose your freedom to get medical care?

12/15/24 - Briana and myself continue to be amazed and overwhelmed by the support from around the world; it is greatly appreciated and we cannot give enough thanks. While we cannot comment on the details of her case, contrary to some reporting her legal status has not changed at this time, other than she is no longer physically incarcerated. If for some reason this were to change and we are guaranteed she is no longer in legal jeopardy, this GoFundMe campaign would be ended as soon as possible. Thank you.
Are they going to send Daniel Penny down there since she made people scared?
If it wasn't a poor person saying this to an rich company the police would say "there's nothing they can do." They love using that line around here when people get actual, credible threats.
