I explain that I have obamacare and get to go to the dr without it ending in full financial crisis and childhood abuse left me very able to compartmentalize pain. I live everyday in extreme pain and had to give up things that I love because certain things can make it worse like riding horses. I understand Luigi on multiple levels.
People that don't live every day in pain will never understand. I have medicine that keeps my pain level down but the constant pain every day gets a person down. Add not being able to do things that we want to do and it gets difficult to keep spirits up. Never Surrender 🥰

When we had our daughter, the hospital had an overnight room for us if we had wanted to stay, but my wife felt well enough to go home and wanted to sleep in her own bed. So the hospital put us in a taxi, told us to send them the receipt for reimbursement, and the total out-of-pocket cost was about the same as for a sandwich. My father is from Denmark and the only thing he liked about living in the USA was the weather in California. My Greek cousin paralyzed from a motorcycle accident lives and thrives in Sweden. Also the Swedish government picked up the tab for disabled people on the Greek island of Leros in the 80s ( don't know now) where Greek families throw away their disabled family members.
How can you feel any sympathy for someone whose income and bonuses depended on DENYING human beings medical care. It's a 'job' that shouldn't even exist.
20 years ago I had a kidney stone. I told the hospital, "I think I have a kidney stone," and they agreed it sounded likely. I asked if they could do a ultrasound to confirm and they said, "if it's there, we'll find it." Well, good news is, I was right. Bad news was, they decided to do a MRI instead of a ultrasound. Which makes sense as to why my less than 2 hr visit only to be sent home with a script for meds bill came out to over 16,000 dollars.
Bloody hell. The crazy thing is, kidney stones are one of those things which might be treatable, but there’s a big chance those same doctors who charged you $16,000 would say they’ll work there way out on their own That’s a big chunk o’ money just to confirm a problem that you had already diagnosed and that any doctor could confirm from symptoms,

The fact that he comes from a wealthy family makes his story even better. He could easily have gotten the Ivy League education, gone on to work at a hedge fund, buying up little companies and real estate or an officer in a big corporation making hundreds of thousands of dollars annually. Instead, he sacrificed all of that, a life of wealth and luxury to make one person at least pay for the destruction his company forced onto hundreds if not thousands of innocent peoples lives. This makes him an absolute hero.

If the average American spent some time or showed more interest in learning about what's going on outside the U.S., they would know that in a truly developed country, you get quality healthcare that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg (no pun intended)... or your life.
Indeed, the US is obviously the best of the best when it comes to healthcare, education, environmental protection, fighting racial inequality, economic equality, and corruption. Now... I have a bridge or two to sell you-interested? 😂 (Not that I mean to suggest that the perfect US public infrastructure might need a few upgrades here or there, like a high-speed train or something 😂)

The more i think about it, the more i realize Luigi is a hero. Not saying we should all go around doing that but it does force the conversation in a way that we've never seen. As we preach nonviolent solutions like Medicare For All, the spectre of Luigi Mangione hangs over our heads. People may take the issue more seriously if they believe that it's causing some kind of war where people are getting killed for a greater cause. Just like the civil rights movement. The system does violence on us and then expects us to be nonviolent. Well im not a violent person but i cant speak for people like Luigi. Maybe we should take health care more seriously so that more innocent people, medical patients and CEOs, dont have to lose their lives.
Last winter, my heart did a whoopsie daisy because of a bad reaction with my ADHD meds, i went to the only urgent care nearby that was in network, but they were closed (for some reason) so i had to go to the ER in a hospital that was out of network so that the doctors could hook me up to a machine to make sure my heart didn't give up. 3 weeks later, we got a bill for 2000 dollars, couldn't fight it at all. Thank CHRIST my family was able to loan me the money to pay it off so i could pay them back later, but that is an incredible privilege. Now im paying to get my jaw fixed, and i have to pay for every visit out of pocket, because my dental provider doesn't see this as vital to my health. To be clear, the condition i have (tmj) causes immense pain and might require surgery if i didn't start getting help for it on my own.
I hope this stays in the news, too. I hate when something big happens that seems like a potential turning point and then barely a week later it's business as usual.
The fact that there clearly will be legal contestation, and maybe a jury trial, will keep this in the news. The NY Times big wigs recently put out a memo demanding that editors stop running phots of Luigi. This story, which is really about the reaction to the killing more than anything about Luigi, is very unnerving to the ruling class.

That's more than a little out of touch with reality. The country is $37 trillion in debt and it is rapidly growing. The bottom 50% of the income scale pay little to no income taxes, and instead get welfare in the guise of refundable earned income and child tax credits. The upper 50% pay all the taxes, with it heavily skewed the higher you go up the scale. There is no more income to be found and taxed, there has to be a smaller government. Welcome to the era of DOGE.
FDR saved the country. It is called Social Democracy. That is when the focus of government is on improving the lives of the people not propping up Oligarchs. Every social democracy in the world has a much higher standard of living than there is in the USA. Americans have been brain washed into throwing them selves under the bus to serve the elites.

Shouldn't we stay with innocent until proven guilty? Everyone is saying he's guilty, but he hasn't had his trial yet. We still do that, right? Innocent until proven guilty? Law in the USA is so fickle.
Unless you're in the ruling class. Then it's just innocent, and file endless frivolous lawsuits against your accusers to ruin their lives forever. See the long and horrifically sad story of Steven Donziger as a perfect example.
We're the only species that doesn't have to hunt for it's food, where being unfit isn't a detriment to our existence. Other species don't even have health care unless they're a pet, so they have to take care of themselves and stay healthy if they don't want to starve to death. If you don't like the system, take better care of yourself and you don't have to worry about it.
What I get a kick out of is that nobody is going to do anything about it. Not only will the general public not do anything, but neither will your politicians, and when given the chance, the general public will vote for those very same politicians.
I’m hoping for an end to propaganda that free healthcare is bad. The statistics about our longevity and how much we spend should be on repeat. Half of our country thinks Europe, Canada and everyone else has crappy healthcare and it’s just not true.
@@Tulipfarmer the job of a private healthcare insurance CEO, the metric by which their performance is evaluated, is maximizing the difference between what the clients pay and how much care they get refunded. The job of a public healthcare insurance director is to minimize this difference. Enough said.
I live in Spain and the healthcare here is better than the US. My brother is in Texas and gets healthcare paid by his employer, its good but not as good as free healthcare here because the insurance companies there won't cover certain things. Even worse, he has money in the bank but feels that he can't leave his job while looking for another because he'd lose cover in the meantime. So your system traps you in your job too. When healthcare works for your boss more than it does you, that's when you know its broken.

As an Australian I was highly amused that Candace Owen's visa application to visit Australia was rejected. On principle I disagree with it as I believe in free speech and think she should be able to travel here and speak to those with whom she has shared views, politics and ideology even if these are in stark opposition to my own. However the rejection of the visa did amuse me simply because it caused her irritation. Besides, as with any livestock that crosses international borders, the pig should be quarantined and properly vaccinated before being released into the general population.

as a Danish person I ve been following this whole situation and I have to admit that I really feel sorry for you people, you guys are stuck in a horrible situation with horrible healthcare. Here in Denmark as any citizen I can call my doctor any time there's any thing and get basic health care with no BS and no paper work no fees. If I need surgery or treatment I can get it no problem. What you guys endure I can only imagine how terrible it must be to live like this. That guy Luigi did something that inevitably had to be done at some point.
Lots of people point out how health care is "free" in much of the world. But if you have a national health care program, you already paid for it with your taxes. But note how in the US, the Republicans spend about half their time railing against the IRS and trying to make it about impossible to raise taxes to pay for anything. So we end up in a death spiral of huge deficits and plots to privatize every government function.
The first thing Candace did in her video was to say she shares the sentiment of most Americans about the health insurance scam and criticised it. But thanks for skipping that. Clipping stuff out of context. Very professional.
Based on what Candace says she is clearly quite wealthy. The division that exists in this case is class and Candace is in the upper class which explains her blindness regarding class issues.

I explain that I have obamacare and get to go to the dr without it ending in full financial crisis and childhood abuse left me very able to compartmentalize pain. I live everyday in extreme pain and had to give up things that I love because certain things can make it worse like riding horses. I understand Luigi on multiple levels.
chronic headpain suffer, autoimmunity sufferer, disabled.
I get him too
Yeeeup. Amazing what abusive conditioning can accomplish when it comes to tolerating pain
People that don't live every day in pain will never understand. I have medicine that keeps my pain level down but the constant pain every day gets a person down. Add not being able to do things that we want to do and it gets difficult to keep spirits up. Never Surrender 🥰
Ironically you nailed exactly why only someone who was privileged could have reacted this violently. People with shit upbringings learn to cope and just deal with crippling pain, trauma, or otherwise uncomfortable situations. We build the mechanisms to not go postal. Someone privileged never does, so when they are suddenly on our level, they're boned
You mentioned horse 🐎 riding. A person can get crippled from riding a horse. I've been bucked, kicked, and smashed into a fence from radical runaway horses! I don't know how I survived. No, I don't ride horses anymore.
Why do they think it is odd he was "Ivy League"? Ted Kaczynski was a Harvard grad. Trotsky was part of the Russian upper class. It is not at all uncommon for people engaging in radical acts out of what they believe to be a principled ideology to have such backgrounds.

Is there anything Candace Owens doesn’t get wrong? I’ve yet to hear anything.
My God guys. Watching from abroad and am honestly shocked that you let these companies rob you to this extent.
I hope this stays in the news, too. I hate when something big happens that seems like a potential turning point and then barely a week later it's business as usual.
The fact that there clearly will be legal contestation, and maybe a jury trial, will keep this in the news.
