@ronclark9306 Not sure what you mean by “government got involved”. If I buy private insurance from UHC and they deny payment for my cancer treatment, what does that have to do with the government? By the way, advanced medical care, like surgeries, cancer, etc have never been “affordable”. Even 100 years ago, poor people whose hand was badly damaged in an accident had to lose the entire hand because amputation was cheaper than the expensive surgery and post-op care to stitch it back together. That's what happened to her last year after fighting post-polio since the 1990s.

I'm actually shocked that NBC would allow that on national television. Taking the Lord's name in vain like that. On cable, yes. On one of the primary major networks? No.
That's a rough start. I'm surprised it got any laughs. The fact that corporate monopolization and our broken system force people to patronize businesses they'd like to boycott is core to Luigi's manifesto. United Healthcare has a strong monopoly on health insurance in many places, for example.
@lenawagenfuehr53 That's a BS talking point being peddled by bootlicking losers that are too dumb to realize that character assassinations don't work here because even if he were the biggest hypocrite in the world he still took out a mass murderer that made millions from inflicting pain, suffering, and death on innocent people.

Disappointed in Colin's joke about Luigi. Just because you participate in society (which for most people, inherently means engaging with corporations) doesn't mean you can't recognize its flaws and want to improve it. Also, significant difference in impact between places like Starbucks and healthcare insurance companies, which have a long history of overreaching claim denials, fraud, overbilling, and being directly responsible for preventable deaths. Starbucks and McDonald's at least provide some sort of good/service. Healthcare insurance companies make things so much more difficult for both healthcare providers and patients and don't even provide the actual healthcare
I agree I think they had to get network approval on these jokes and media is trashing Luigi instead of exposing the insurance industries abuses that lead up to things like this. Or they just really don’t get.
@@the_om_projectyes, we should be seeing a story every day about someone denied coverage who is suffering or who died. But we're not getting anything like that from the corporate media. Both liberal and conservative media outlets have closed ranks on this and are smearing the guy and ignoring the huge scandal of the medical insurance industry.
Criticizing corporations doesn't mean you have to refrain from engaging with corporations (especially since it's virtually impossible to do so nowadays). That's not what hypocrisy is
Luigi Mangione was exposing the healthcare industry as being very corrupt and caring more about profits than actual taking care of people’s healthcare needs.
Same. My God that was funny. He is such low hanging fruit cause he just refuses to retire. I swear that scarecrow is going to die on the House floor one day. 😂
Notice how they only jokes they’re allowed to make about the assassination are about how hot Mangione is and how he went to Starbucks and McDonald’s? Not a single quip about the healthcare industry? Left vs. right is a theater. The real struggle we’re facing is up vs. down.
Colin Jost's opening jokes were written NOT by Michael Che, but a NBC Representative answering to NBC News and the CEO. Why else would he even jokingly say anything negative about the shooter in this environment?

@ronclark9306 You seriously need to educate yourself on our health care system and who is making all the profits and most of the decisions (surprise, the middleman healthcare companies who gouge us and deny us)... Do yourself a favor and instead of believing right wing talking points, read up on the actual data as well as studies that compare how much we spend on healthcare to all other countries in the world - and I'm not even talking about those in Europe - that spend far less because they don't have the these leeches interfering in and profiting off of people's healthcare... or lack thereof.
The rich would just wear gloves to disguise “ugly scars” and the poor would have to be one-handed for life.

I hope we all know that it doesn't matter who is in the 'top job' because this is a systemic problem -- greed. We have allowed many of our economic sectors, to take advantage of the American people. I know this FA, Tracy Britt Cool Consulting but only by her reputation at Berkshire Hattaway; even though she's now involved in managing portfolios and providing investmnt guidance to clients. I have been trying to get in contact since I watched her interview on WSJ last month
Well her name is 'Tracy Britt Cool Consulting'. Just research the name. You'd find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment
Great share! Out of curiosity, I searched Tracy Britt Cool Consulting online, found her consulting page ranked at the top, and scheduled a call session. I've read many reviews about advisors, but none seem as impressive as hers.
Tracy Britt Cool has really set the standard for others to follow, we love her here in America 🇺🇸 as she has been really helpful and changed lots of life's

Yeah, my mom had polio. Messed her up for life, and then 40 years later there's "post-polio syndrome" which is like long Covid if it lasted the rest of your life and slowly sucked away your muscle strength until you're bed-bound and eventually your heart just stops because it's the last muscle to finally fail. “Challenging the sun to a staring contest”. Them UV rays already won
That's a rough start. I'm surprised it got any laughs. The fact that corporate monopolization and our broken system force people to patronize businesses they'd like to boycott is core to Luigi's manifesto. United Healthcare has a strong monopoly on health insurance in many places, for example.
But Luigi had good insurance. (Not United) He's the well fed brat who publicly skips dessert and calls it a hunger strike.
@@lenawagenfuehr53 If Luigi is a "well fed brat", the CEO of United is an overly fed, mega-parasite...
Those "laugh" signs that light up are real. Idk if it's in SNL but they do stuff on the side to encourage laughter
I see the corporate overlords oversaw the Luigi jokes here....

Watching even SNL go the same route as the media on the shooter pretty much sums it up.
The difference being that SNL is a comedy skit show with license to make jokes about just about anything. It's called comedy/satire/fun.
In everyday life, when someone thinks that a cold blooded murderer is somehow justifiable, that's disgusting & disconcerting.
@@edelweiss2.076I think he meant something else
Yep, not the first time SNL has been out of touch and biased. Shouldn't have expected anything else from Colin Jost.
Healthcare insurance companies make things so much more difficult for both healthcare providers and patients and don't even provide the actual healthcare
chill out man, it’s the 90s
You’re watching Colin Joost, not George Carlin.
I agree I think they had to get network approval on these jokes and media is trashing Luigi instead of exposing the insurance industries abuses that lead up to things like this. Or they just really don’t get.
They're doing their best to smear him. You can see it all over corporate media.
They're trying to set the narrative.
