Everyone says lease programs are horrible. For MOST they are. Because just like he explains, most guys just jump in without any knowledge. They hear they can make more than a company driver, and are told they can go home whenever they want, and they’re hooked. Don’t read the lease contract. Don’t realize the truck payment still comes out when they go home for an entire week. Don’t realize they’re responsible for EVERYTHING on that truck. Don’t realize the actual costs of normal wear and tear issues like tires which aren’t cheap and you have 10 of them and two of those HAVE to be virgins. These guys just see dollar signs and throw the rest out the window.
THIS IS THE BEST INFORMATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND ADVICE I EVER HEARD.. IVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 13 YEARS. THANKS FOR THIS INTERVIEW.. #Mothatrucker #hardhustle
I always say this, use the lease purchase for a steppingstone. Use them, just like they use you. Get your money, and go purchase your own truck with 20% down.
Right! do you get more money leasing rather than working directly for the company as a n one lease ? Obviosly with the end goal to drop them...can you make more money doing it the way you said with your own benefit in mind first leasing ?
Man good info I went with a 1 yr lease from SFI. Got Truck had 268k miles on it yes a ballon of 20k at end I’m doing my part working have that money. Saving personal and I was told that they will use my maintenance account at end also. My lease up July of 2021

Amazing info im glad u put it out there because alot of these lease drivers be thinking they doin something leasing the latest truck thats all they doong
Thanks. Great Video. Trucking is a great Job for some people. The money. Well. If there’s ever someone that can get drivers together That will BE a GREAT Start ALL TRUCKERS
And the number 1 reason they lease you a truck is so that they can write off 100% of the truck as a loss to the IRS. This was finally explained to me after 16 years of leasing. Now I own 3 trucks and none by a lease.
Wow yup, that's truth right there. I would love to see an extended interview with hard hustle about what he went through from beginning to where he's at today to kind of help us drivers to get to where he's at that's I think what we all want to do is have our own trucks and do our own thing it'd be great if we could hear his story 👍🚛
Good info. I tried leasing from Knight Intermodal division. Big mistake. Inexperienced port dispatchers burned a lot of hours. $4000 per week gross to be profitable. I left after 2 months. Until I can buy a truck on my own, I’m staying company. #drivesafe
He's spot on! I did lease maintenance at WTI and Lease Purchase. I made way more money under the lease maintenance program than I did for the lease purchase. Found a gig with a guy out of Mississippi. I was grossing in between $8k-$16k a week. Bringing home about $1,800-$3,000 a week. Then I was able to buy my first truck. I didn't make that kind of money in the lease truck. But like bro said, your gross be so high, so others it'll seem like you're making a lot of money. You are grossing and buying your company new trucks and equipment. But you're only bringing home anywhere between $35k-$65k a year.
07:00 every time I did the math looking at leases this was the absolute truth, never made sense to me to lease with big risks (truck breakdown / tires), then just be a company driver.
I worked in corrections for over ten years before I got into truck driving. Why do I bring this up. After the first six months of the 8 1/2 years of driving, I found that I trust inmates more than truck drivers. Saying all that, this man is telling you the straight-shit. Leasing isn’t for the stupid and lazy. I owned my own truck for the last 3 1/2 years of my driving experience. Yes, I took an occasional vacation. But I ran my butt off to cover my overhead: fuel, tows, repairs, maintenance and expenditures. I’ve had lean times, making a few hundred a week to making 3-4K net a week... albeit rare. In those times where you make extra jingle, you don’t go out on a spending spree; you put money away EVERY WEEK for a rainy day. And there is always rain. Do your homework. This man is smart. He knows what he’s talking about.
My husband doesn’t make over 1200 after taxes at the most after all the cost, and he has to be on the road more to get the truck paid more. He made the same amount working completely for other people. He had no worries. He loves it though. He is the one doing the job. As long as he loves it that is all that matters.💖
All facts, I've least back in the day with Steven's, Trans AM, and a few companies in my first years of driving and the MOST I ever brought home was $1800.
@Chosen Destiny whenever you are a true owner operator vs a lease operator $6-5k is the average before fuel. I can make $1800 hauling fuel as a company driver and home often to daily.
That thing looks like a rocket ship with all all them knobs, you're leasing that? It's math the leaser knows so many will quit. Do you remember dollar trucks, yep been there done that . Nice truck ,God Bless.
66K is nothing for all the work you've put into it for a lease. You deserve so much better! The really big money is in leasing out to the innocent and sucking up all their sweat and effort. Better to own an older truck and gross 5K or more a week. Leasing you work hard and make less than 2K weekly. I'm so glad he is warning people.

Leasing is for those who can not afford a loan, have a bad credit score, or want to do trucking in short term. It is a business and as a business, they have to make money. Everyone has to start from somewhere
Don’t get me wrong this brother has a lot of knowledge but the one thing that people may not understand is he’s talking about trying to buy out lease trucks. I don’t recommend trying to buy them out. Ride that lease and make that owner operator pay and walk away from that lease and go buy your own truck from the dealership from the money you saved up from the lease contract. Leverage the lease to use as a stepping stone. Just don’t plan on buying out the lease. This makes it win win for you and the company. The company is making money from the truck and your making owner operator money from the truck. Once you walk away with full pockets the company passes your old lease truck to another driver and restarts the process. Learn the game and know the game and then leverage the game to your favor.
Actually quoting both if you don't know how to manage you money and learn how credit works. O.G is showing you what not to do. Overall leasing is a tool to get to the next level. Understanding your contracts, getting your money right and keep LOW overhead with a lot highway hustling and you'll be alright.
Same can be said for financing a truck. None of my acquaintances who were so called owner operators adequately explained to me what I would be getting into financing my first truck. I did ask them but they never really knew. And I regret it to this day. Truck financiers are JUST AS BAD.

In other words, for those that don’t understand,….you can’t have a lot of personal debt responsibilities to be able to afford the truck, and everything that else goes with that while have any quality of life. Don’t work for the truck, let the truck work for you! Save your money, put yourself in an equity situation at first, and you will have a better upper hand. There are enough things on the open road to prohibit success so don’t start off on the negative side.
Im sitting in the truck right now, i am going through it with my wife, miss my kids a whole lot, if i didn’t have a trucking job idk what i would be doing, depression is crazy

Thanks, My Man!! I've been driving for UPS roughly going on a year. I have been asking around trying to completely understand how other trucking companies work because we are on a completely different system. Every time I tell someone who I work for their tone changes. I ask for a number of reasons. 1. I shouldn't be working in a field without understanding the ins and outs of the business outside of my bubble. 2. We have had co-workers quit based on these half-truths mentioned by other drivers.

I'm not a truck driver but I use to work on trucks, this guy is telling you the truth! It's in the business's best interest to lease, and let you have all the headaches and responsibilities if it wasn't beneficial to the company they would not do it, unless they just like losing money.
Great video!!!!. Old school driver dropping Jewels. Stay safe OG thank you.
I'm a owner operator I make after paying for fuel from 4k to 7k a week I pay 1600 a month for my truck payment I can make 1800 a week a a company driver
Do you drive in Washington idaho Colorado and Utah? How do you not crash on iced out roads

@@RandySoWavvy 😂😂😂 right it’s common sense if you unsure or scared get off the road. 20-plus years of driving on ice.
I've been driving going on 16 years. I purchased my truck cash 6 years aftet being on the road now my truck is parked at home and I'm working for a small 10 truck company on percentage bringing home between $1900 and $2800. Per week and I can take time off as I please when I please.
This is man is fucking right for everything he said
Everyone says lease programs are horrible.
Thank you Mai for giving Hard Hustle a platform you educate us 💪🏾🙏🏾
THIS IS THE BEST INFORMATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND ADVICE I EVER HEARD.. IVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 13 YEARS. THANKS FOR THIS INTERVIEW.. #Mothatrucker #hardhustle
Man you do the most excellent interviews I've ever seen 🚛🚛
I always say this, use the lease purchase for a steppingstone. Use them, just like they use you. Get your money, and go purchase your own truck with 20% down.
That’s what I say, just build the money and then go buy a truck cash or 20% down. And be set as a owner operator
When you say 20% down do you mean finance ?
I'm not good with finance terms sorry
The exact point I feel like all these anti lease people are missing!!
Right! do you get more money leasing rather than working directly for the company as a n one lease ? Obviosly with the end goal to drop them...can you make more money doing it the way you said with your own benefit in mind first leasing ?
I have told so many drivers this info, but they won’t listen. God bless you brother. 🙏🏾
Man good info I went with a 1 yr lease from SFI. Got Truck had 268k miles on it yes a ballon of 20k at end I’m doing my part working have that money. Saving personal and I was told that they will use my maintenance account at end also. My lease up July of 2021
I put my truck on with company call Greatwide. Not the beat diffenly not the worst company I started out booking my own loads. But when COVID hit I got a agent and she runs me good I have no complaints at this time
I think short term lease on cheaper truck is best option. Im doing a similar deal.
Thank y’all both ! For the platform and the great advice
Good info. I tried leasing from Knight Intermodal division. Big mistake. Inexperienced port dispatchers burned a lot of hours. $4000 per week gross to be profitable. I left after 2 months. Until I can buy a truck on my own, I’m staying company. #drivesafe
You did right. Fk them damn cans. Waist of good time.
Get at me i can hook you up with a good used truck and trailer for a really good price

Take Care&Godspeed!
Wow, everything he is saying is 100 percent truth. Please take heed to his message. I had to learn the hard way.
He’s telling the truth
Alex!!! Living it large in the lease truck...
Alex living it large with VL , from chuco town. But the DEVIL IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER.
If I can’t get my own truck outright I do plan to lease op. Thank you for the knowledge brother.
That thing looks like a rocket ship with all all them knobs, you're leasing that? It's math the leaser knows so many will quit. Do you remember dollar trucks, yep been there done that . Nice truck ,God Bless.
Im have been following of your show for a while already and i just subscribed to it i love man good job bro
That's something RUclipsr Socal Said
@@seanwheat6114 Good on him for telling others that. I've had it drilled into my brain by several, long time truckers on YT. 🧠 They know their stuff and I like to listen to them.

Leasing is for those who can not afford a loan, have a bad credit score, or want to do trucking in short term. It is a business and as a business, they have to make money. Everyone has to start from somewhere
Real informative as usual, thank you!!
Does Hard Hustle have a channel? We need more of that knowledge!!!
This man speaks all facts! You have to pay attention to the numbers and learn how to maximize your own operation and minimize your expense (overhead)
I knew not to get a lease straight out of trucking school. Thank god I went to community college in truck driving
That was real talk Hard Hustle. You know what it is to be true to the grind. Be safe out here.
Everything you say is true. Thanks for the video. Keep up the good work Mutha Truckers!
That is some crazy dedication. Thank you.
Never ever lease. You’ll become a slave who pays a fortune for your own chains.
Actually what you quoted is a company driver!
@@amels4620 they act like financing still ain’t paying pimpin. Either way u don’t own the equipment out right and if you do god blesss that maintenance bill. Takes money to make money

Hard Hustle, you worked your ass off to get where you are today.
If clowns don't want to take advantage of the information you're sharing the fools deserve what they get. I enjoyed your interview.
Hope things turned around for you with your fam. I know it ain’t easy but keep grinding bro

This guy is smart, he thrives on being and knowing. He enjoys playing the game, it motivates him to use his mind. I bet he's got a lovely wife, home and children. When you know what you want, you stay on track because there are so many people who only want what you have and this guy understands the way to stay ahead of the game. I like that he actually reads the contract. It's the tool he figured out how to use. There are many ways. Figure out what you're good at and what you want and how to get it and how to keep it.
