You probably know this with 7 years experience but if you want to keep that truck and trailer forever change ALL possible fluids every 150k miles and spray tire shine on all rubber parts. Also get a valve adjustment and change the belts even if they’re good. Oil and filters change every 15k miles and full unit service every 1000 hours. It should last 1m trouble free miles.

The hard part is definitely getting hired with no experience. I grew up around trucks and spent a lot of time as a road dog or ride on helper in the moving business, from my late teens on. I was working local for a moving company and got stopped at a random dot checkpoint while I was behind the wheel of a tractor trailer. They gave me a ticket and had someone from the company come get the truck. The dot officer told me if I got my permit before court it would be dropped. I went to dmv and got a handbook, studied it for a week and took the written test at dmv on my own. Ticket was dropped, Two years later I paid like $200 to take just the driving test at a school and passed first shot. Point of story u can do it without spending thousands of dollars on schools. Much respect for this driver doing his thing!

The whole secret to all of this is don't get married and think you're going to be out there trucking all the time. Mostly all the success stories in trucking is the drivers are not married. And I said most of the time. Like 90% of the guys that don't get married will make it because all of your responsibility is that truck. and it's so hard to keep a family happy when you're gone all the time. I've been there done that and it's so much easier just to be single you can leave for months at a time. And do not buy a big house. because you have to be there to maintain that house and you worry about it all the time when nobody's there. That dude is spot on. Take note of how he lives his life. As a beautiful truck and driving a BMW. You can't beat that. Stay focused like you said. Don't be responsible for anybody else but yourself in that business. I guarantee you will make it.

Yeah it's all about the lifestyle, but many of them are married. Trucking offers people freedom to not be at home with a family they don't really want to be around full time and enables them to have a girl in each city they visit.
