So excited to be sharing with you my FIRST ever outdoor makeover! I surprised my manager, Mariam with a makeover while she was away for the weekend. I wanted to keep things neutral with some wooden accents. I never knew how different interior and exterior design is, so this space was a new challenge for me. What is your favorite feature of her outdoor space? Comment below!

Thanks so much for watching and I hope you enjoyed. Leave any future video ideas you would like to see in the comments below and don't forget to subscribe!
That bougainvillea bush is THE masterpiece in this area
This wonderful human as a FRIEND is the masterpiece in this area!😎💕👏🏻
Dude, I know, it's unreal!!!
It needs to be trimmed!! they grow better when pruned regularly. It’s too big for the space now.
I was wondering what this bush was so thank you!
The pressure washed stencilling is legit mind-blowing!
Can’t agree more!
How did you even come up with this idea....Genius
Showed my daughter who has her own pressure washing biz-cool!
Agree this is insane!
All my concrete is painted green... could be cool. Could be trash... guess we'll see!! Hahaha
Drew getting sponsored by Target, Walmart, and Home Depot this year.. well deserved! Absolutely killing these videos!
wrapping the extension cord in masking tape was GENIUS
If he used the stain he used on the ladder it would blend right in with the fence.
Masking tape will come off in the rain ....
@@morganjames5180 true but it doesn’t rain much in california and whenever it does rain, the masking tape can be easily replaced
please do more outdoor spaces, especially with summer coming up!
Yes I agree ! Drew more outdoor videos please ?
ruclips.net/video/knKyx75dIiE/видео.html
I also would like to see more patio ideas
‘Ticking clock graphic goes here’ that is so adorable and I hope you don’t edit that out and reupload 😅
Lmao i noticed that too
Oh I won’t haha!!
Lol.I noticed as well.Drew inspired me so much on my home decor and DIY videos.Hes such an inspiration.
@@lonefox it adds personality 😂
Its so cute 😻
He is so transparent about his sponsored videos which I like about him
I really don't mind considering it's related to home renovations anyways
You were able to do a surprise because of how confident you have become in yourself and in what you are capable of creating!! Beautiful first outdoor space, Drew! Keep breaking ceilings!!
Impressive makeover, please do more outdoor spaces (even tiny ones).
thanks Kathleen :) let me know how your herb ladder turns out!!
ruclips.net/video/knKyx75dIiE/видео.html
Given the apartments behind her, I’d add an overhead shade sail over the couch for some privacy, not expensive
Great idea!!
We got a really cool articulating umbrella from Lowe’s two years ago that would be amazing there!
That’s exactly what I was thinking too Yvonne!
I was more concerned if it rains
And a little more plants, I am a plant mama😌
Wow, I love the power-washed concrete floor! I love the sectional seating corner and the ladder plant stand. If there is anything that I would add is a water feature like a water fountain. But as is, it is already amazing!
Perhaps one of the most exciting designers on RUclips. This is such a beautiful and practical transition.
For someone who has never undertaken an outdoor space you nailed it!. Beautiful result Drew.
the cobblestone stencil is mind blowing!! 😍
The sectional was made perfectly for that space! I love this because it makes the best of a small space but doesn’t look crowded!
You asked: **Could've pressured washed the fencing ,as that would make it really match even better & cleaned winter muck off it..... GREAT Space to Experience Life in...

"Saying this, Great Job !!"
"You've Got Mad Skills"
The pressure washing stencil is way over the top for me, I absolutely love that idea. And you can probably create your own kind of designs and cut it out on a heavy duty plastic. One day I will have to try this. Great job on everything.
Taking care of your back patio is like adding square footage to your house!
my mom just bought a townhouse and i get to make her lil patio and garden over, so now i've got some ideas!
yay!!
drew you are the nicest person on the internet 😩😭😭😭😭💕💕💕💕
I decided this Spring that the pressure washer was my new favorite tool. It is so satisfying.
AGREED!! We just bought one and I swear I’ve power washed any and everything that could possibly be power washed... so fun 🤣
You’ve done it again!!! Seriously, the pressure wash stencil, masking tape wrap on the cord and the offset rug are just genius. You never fail to give us value. Thank. You. Please do more outdoor spaces!
Pressure washing is so satisfying. Never thought of creating a patteren with it! Genius!
You knocked that makeover out of the park. Gorgeous doesn't even cover it 👍🏼
Wow, thank you!
If you weren't her very favorite person before this, you are now. Best surprise to come home to ever! The pressure washed stenciling is just brilliant. Who knew dirt could give concrete such character? The way this pattern fades out doesn't detract from the beauty at all, IMO, just adds more visual interest. You could brush some mud on top first, let that dry, sweep up the excess, then stencil-wash if you really wanted a more even, over-all effect. This was a stunning and thoughtful makeover and a fabulous gift for an important person in your life.
I love the voiceover, I love the energies, the music, the amounts of patience and enjoyment that you show, I like your vibes. I’m so happy I discovered your channel!
I would have considered a water feature. HD has really cute fountains.
@@amara560 Fountains recirculate water. A little fountain has no impact on a drought. They are very relaxing. We have one in Palm Springs.
@@kjderath977 mine constantly has to be refilled due to evaporation
The faux cobblestone effect with the pressure washer 🥺🥺🥺🥺 howww??? Amazing transformation as always ❤️✨
I know right? Using the dirt as a design feature is GENIUS! LOL
@@lestranged yeah, like, how do you even come up with that????!!! Genius!!
Indoor, outdoor it doesn't matter where you are life comes to life. You are truly The genius of decorating. I absolutely love everything you do. Sending love Lynnie
Such a chic backyard design. Love how minimal yet stylish it was. You let the beauty that was already there shine through. Your manager is a total babe! I have never looked that nice getting off a plane after a trip
I love the outcome of the project, its gorgeous and that grill!! 😍😍
I will say the quickest way to refresh an outdoor space is to clean it, I would have loved it if you started by sweeping up the dead leaves and cleared the browned leaves in the soil beds, it would have already made a huge different and just given you a clean canvas to work on..
Same here. Everything was beautiful but I so wanted to get the dead leaves out of the bushes and trim them up!
Watched with my husband and we both loved everything you did. I asked him to get our pressure washer out to use in our decks. Been too long lol. If I were going to do anything else, I would find cushions
for the chairs, just to bring some extra color to the table set.
You continue to amaze me :)
Yes and those kind of chairs are not very comfortable, especially in the summer you might be wearing shorts... they give you waffle butt! I would get some cushions for them too.
When you put soo much hard work in a project n it's ruined by rain, snow.. Ect, it totally breaks my heart, so do something which restores these beautiful work through out the seasons...
It came out beautiful!! I think I might have added a large umbrella over the sectional area, for privacy from that complex next door. Great job though! 👍👍😊
Goodness Drew, you're not only so talented, but so personable and relatable! You should start a segment called "re-do with Drew", it reminds me of your "Drew it Yourself" :)
Great idea!!
Great job, looks so cosy😍
A little tip from a gardner: break a terracotta pot, put one of the broken pieces on the hole in the pot and then put the soil in.
Water can go through the hole, but not the soil.
That pressure wash stencil, is out of this world! I have painted and stenciled so many porches, talk about time consuming. This is the coolest thing ever
First I have to say she is stunning. Both body and soul what a wonderful ray of sunshine! The place looks amazing. You have a heart of gold Drew. Thank you for the upload.
Low key jealous of that Traeger
It's now a very attractive and usable space, full of life. I would have replaced the plastic plant tags in the herb pots with cute hand lettered stakes, maybe wooden or copper on stainless.
Such a cute idea!
Love it !!!! One thing I wouldve done is create a foux cabinet/art to cover the electrical panel but overall amazing transformation 🤍
Drew: comes with stencil, turns stained dirt into art :) Great work! ♥
I loved this DIY makeover! The pressure-washed stencil idea was genius. One of the things I may have done differently if I was doing the makeover was to make a raised cocktail garden. I think since you mentioned your boss likes to cook, it would have been smart to include more vegetables and herbs. I would have also included more pots with ornamental annuals in them. Although the red flowering shrub looks good now, it will be out of bloom soon, causing the space to feel dull. Adding some flowering annuals would provide the space with some beautiful colors when the shrub goes out of flower.
That bougainvillea will bloom year round. But I agree with your other ideas.
Oh Drew!!! I am only 6 minutes in and I am already blown away. Your talent and precision for creating DIYs and making over spaces, are like no other. I appreciate that even if you haven't done something before, you just go for it. It gives us all the confidence to not be intimated. Just to let you know, whether you have perfectly placed hair or a little wind blown hair, you are the BOMB!!
Another fan from Canada. Lindy
😉☺😊
Aw thank you so much Lin :)
Drew, this was AMAZING! I can’t believe it was your first outdoor space...it has a super relaxing yet “dressy casual” vibe. I need you in California stat!
Thanks Christina!!
Nobody can tell that you have done an outdoor transformation for the first time. You're a pro ...love each every detail you've put in this transformation :)
Using a stencil while pressure washing was genius! I, never in a million years, would have thought of that! Also love the herb garden.
Wow your manager is gorgeous
I'm so going to do the ladder herb garden for my new home, that is amazing!!!
yay!! Let me know how it goes :)
Yes looks easy enough to do.will try that out as well!
@@lonefox of course! 😊 Will be my next project after I've finished upcycling my late nan's trio nest of tables!!!
THIS WAS STUNNING! DREW, YOU DID IT AGAIN! I LOVE HOW YOU TOTALLY SURPRISED HER!
It turned out INCREDIBLE, Drew!! Such perfect timing for me to find this video, I'm decorating my balcony for summer and appreciate a natural and bohemian style. Love that herb ladder idea, I'm inspired. :))
I was so relieved when you did the back wall. It needed it!!! Good job
fabulous, great job drewisexito, you are so nice to everyone. God bless you. Me as a horticulturist landscaping designer I think you did great for the space without crowding it too much. great job.
OMG!!!! Drew, I swear everything you touch turns to gold!!!! You’re a freaking genius!!!!! Anybody would be so very blessed to have u make over their space!!! Thanks for some much needed inspiration!!! Much love & huge hugs to you ✌🏻❤️🙏🏻🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Drew, you did that! The flower tree sets it off beautifully. She needs a sail above to block neighboring views. Great job😍
Is there anything you CAN’T do, Drew?!! Breathtaking!!! Such a beautiful space!! Once again, you nailed it!!!
So so cute! Definitely a little oasis. I want an herb garden 🪴.
Oh you are so sweet, you click out on videos of other people getting a surprise because you are nervous for them. 😇 You must have been really nervous for this surprise, even though you really didn't need to be. It is truly beautiful. Well done, another great makeover! 💖 👍👏👏👏
You’re such a kind person and Miriam is so lucky to have you as a client.
I really enjoyed this makeover. Can't say that I'd do anything differently but I hope you'll have more outdoor makeovers (makeovers in general, really) this summer!
Been waiting on this makeover ... after that Instagram post... ❤️❤️❤️ let me just seat and just enjoy, really missed the Sunday videos
Gorgeous! More, please! That stencil/power washing was cool. And love everything. It’s warm and inviting. You feel on vacation. You worked SO hard on this and thank you for sharing your heart with your manager and us.❤️
This was the sweetest thing for you to do for your manager. Love it!
Drew!! You are so amazing!! So proud how you get out of your comfort zone ❤️🙏. Love you!!
Wow! You need to do more patios, Drew.
Would be nice to finish stenciling it or You could Paint it... But that's an Easy Breezy Transformation.. Well Done, ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍❣️
The concrete stencil was my favorite! A little fountain would be cute.
“Ticking clock graphic” never went there... 😂
So precious!
Haha!
Love love love how it all came together! The diy herb garden was my favorite part 🪴
I have been waiting for you to re-new an outdoor space!!I want to go hang out there! So great, as always Drew!
Drew!!! You knocked that one right outta the ball park! That space was amazing, you brought it to the next level. Wow! Just wow!
Her reaction was the best. The pressure washer stencil was super innovative. The final product lools very mediterranean
You should definitely do more. Amazing!
Mitre saw safety use your left hand on the handle and hold the board with your right if you are going to cut on the right side of the blade your hand should never cross like that….I’ve seen a hand get removed doing that.
Hey Drew from rural Australia, I think it speaks volumes about you as a bloke mate to provide care for someone who provides care for you, Bloody lovely sentiment darl's & it looks really SPESH bloss. I have been with you for years & have loved EVERY vid!! Much love xoxoxoxo
Turned out gorgeous! Love all the furniture - nice transition from the larger pieces to the lighter weight, , feminine style of the table and chairs, and OH! the stenciled concrete - wow! Affordable and renter friendly! The small grill looks great too, and omg the liiights yesss!! And the herb garden ladder - I have wanted to get something like this and You did it so well!!
Glad Home Depot sponsored this patio update! Thanks for another great video - I wouldn't change a thing!
Definitely want to see more outdoor spaces from you! Your content is LIFE!
Oh my gosh!! Love everything that you did! ❤️ Power-washing with a stencil is simply genius!! So glad to see you do an outdoor makeover! Yay! Perfect timing for one, Drew. 🌞⛱️
Stenciling on the diagonal was BRILLIANT! You are so much fun watching since you are so damn creative. Home Depot would benefit by producing a television show featuring you designing spaces.
You are without doubt. The kindest and most generous person! And again, you are fear, ess
The pink bush is called a bougainvillea ... lol ... looking forward to the makeover. 🥰
Yes!!!
@@lonefox from now on I will call them PINK BUSH or RED BUSH or PURPLE BUSH hahahaha xx
NAIL IT 😻
Love how you put 3 different areas in that little space. I wish you had come up with a solution to hide the ugly electric meter and wires, while still keeping them accessible.
I’m in the middle of re-doing my backyard & ohhmmgeee so doing that stenciling!!! Absolute Genius
So pretty and classy. Maybe add some cushions to the table she had. Or an outdoor piece of art.
Everything looks wonderful. When I saw where you put the couch first thing I thought was...Oh no, the bugs from the trees. But that's just me. It all looks so inviting. Really Drew is there any space you CAN'T makeover ❤💚💜💙💛
Thanks Cathleen :)
Wow! Great job Drew, I love everything!
The stenciling with a pressure washer was such a great idea. Her patio space turned out beautiful, I might have added a patio umbrella for those extra sunny/hot days out there, and maybe a small console table against the fence by her grill to use as a place to set down her cooking supplies etc. and it can also be styled.
But great job for your first outdoor!😍
I get nervous, too! I just want you to be proud and happy. In the end, however my efforts turn out, I remind myself that it’s the thoughts that count, my caring for the other person as shown through my efforts.
I love how much effort and time you put into each project, you really put your heart and soul into each makeover ❤️
It’s exactly what the space needed - perfect!
The herb garden ladder is so chic and a great use of vertical space. I love the outdoor couch and throw pillows so chillaxing! And those stencilled stone patio flooring ! Outrageous and simple!
Thanks Annette :)
You should do this more often!! It was beautiful and what a sweet thing to do for someone!
Perfect! What a welcoming outdoor living space. We'll done, Drew!
I loved the pressure washing hack!! Such a cool touch!
Omg the Bouganvillea is the jump off ,it's stunning!
I LOVE everything you added.
Perfection, as usual Drew 💕
Thank you for partnering with Home Depot.. love that I can get all of these pieces affordably!
I would be interested to hear how the pressure washed stencils hold up after exposure to the elements! Great job Drew, you nailed the ~viiibes~
How in the world did you manage to spend 5 hours working in the sun and still look good when you’re all done? 😯
Omg you are too sweet!
This is LITERALLY everything.
I love the water pressure stenciling on the floor ♥️
BEAUTIFUL. Well done as usual Sir.
and to answer “what we would have done differently”, plant person here 🙋🏻♀️🌱🌿 ok so those herbs will need kind of a LOT of attention to keep them alive, because they were planted directly in the terracotta and that dries them out, plus they’re pretty small so not a lot of soil to retain moisture and they seem to be in an area with no shade. so unless the people living there are very dedicated to check up daily on their plants (to water but also make sure not to overwater), they will end up with a few dead plants and empty pots. so what i would suggest for future projects is to check with the people what is their experience level and dedication with plants and choose the species accordingly. and the pot you choose (what material, size, and drainage) will also affect the kind of care the plant will need. so i would just say: 1- check what kind of commitment the owners want, 2- educate yourself on what plant types will work in that environment with those particular care conditions, 3- choose plants accordingly, 4- consider the need to integrate any fixtures needed to maintain the new ecosystem (like a hose lol. i had to adapt a hose from my bathroom to my balcony to maintain my lush little space), 5- educate new owners on the care their new plants will need 😊
maybe i wrote too many words but, i had so many people sell me unsustainable plant projects that i kinda learned what kind of thought process needs to happen in order to avoid being inevitably left with a bunch of dried twigs and empty pots 😂
this was a really cool project tho, would love to see you doing more outdoors stuff for sure! 😊🌿🌱
As a wishful successful plant owner, thanks for these tips!
Yeah, I peeped the lemon thyme in the herb garden and internally grimaced myself. I've killed three of them (I bought two the second time around) myself because I didn't fully understand how to keep those buggers alive. Otherwise, he picked good herbs, just maybe not ideal if his manager doesn't know how to take care of them (idk if she does or not so I won't assume).
I agree. The ladder project is super cute, but not easily sustainable for plants in a hot climate-even the mediterranean herbs, A trough type painter with a lot more soil would be easier to care for. Maybe in the wood with a plastic liner. And he didn't water after planting!
After an intense research about decor RUclips channels..you are my favourite without a doubt!!
How beautiful and inviting this entire space is! It was well thought out too- Where you put the table and the grill right off the kitchen. That makes it very handy. The seating area gives privacy while the pink bush creates a natural divide. Love the herb area (ladder), the lights, the pillows and decor. You have a keen eye for placement. I enjoy watching these videos-the natural creativity you pour into every aspect. You obviously are having a great time doing it. I also find you fascinating, adorable and funny. Sue from PA. Miles of smiles and good wishes your way! 😊
