YAY! THIS BACKYARD MAKEOVER IS FINALLY HERE! I hope you love the way it turned out just as much as I do!! Watch right to the end to see what the homeowners think of their new outdoor living space!!😱
Another amazing transformation!! I liked the fire pit the most as that thing looked ready for the dumpster before you gave it a fresh look that fit with everything else in the space.. not a huge fan of the article items but that is just me.. Overall the finished project is ready for a design magazine.. Your brother in law once again looked sincerely impressed! Great Job Kristen!
I loved it all.... the idea of mixing faux greenery with real flowers was so smart..... the 10' umbrella sold me on getting one for our patio..... all of the furniture was stunning... all in all I couldn't choose just one part.... I LOVE IT ALL !
I just bought that same umbrella and had no idea how to weight it down. Now I know. Priceless! And the faux flowers among the real ones is genius. All in all a brilliant transformation. 💗
That evening reveal though!!!! It was EVERYTHING!!! You literally nailed this. You can call the fire pit a distressed look Did you ever get it to work?
That black and white umbrella is my favorite. It really opens up the space and did it’s purpose to have some privacy. You did a good job for a short period of time.
and i would love to see it 6 months later too -its looks awesome now but none of those products used will withstand extreme outdoor weather conditions - just saying
You are just so cute, genuine, kind hearted and good to your family. I recently discovered your videos and I’m obsessed. I don’t normally comment on videos but yours are worth it. Great job 👏👏💕💕
Wow......Kristen! I wish to God you could come to our house and at least show us what we need to do to make our home organized, cozy, private, and expensive looking. You are amazingly good at what you do!
Loved the final space. I was kinda hoping you'd power-washed the space first as it looked kinda dirty, but I saw your comment above about the hose not reaching. It still turned out great tho! I loved all the ferns, lanterns and candles. And that umbrella.. OMG! 😍😍 Great job overall!!
Seeing your family’s loving reaction to your hard work is so endearing. This was one more TERRIFIC makeover! Great job. Your taste is impeccable, Kristen.
Omg girl ! It looks absolutely gorgeous & soooo relaxing !! I can't get over that trick with the fake flowers , brilliant ! Love all the furniture ! You are sooo talented & have great decor skills !!!
The colour combination is amazing black tan and green are in a luxurious harmony with a lovely Moroccan style rug . You have a great taste girl ❤️❤️Good learner
And transfer the ferns to real hanging baskets that are not plastic. They might be able to winter them over inside. My inlaws get a couple years out of ferns... keep them in their basement under grow lights in winter.
Love it! Great job. My favorite is the fire pit. Wouldn’t it be awesome if you painted a beautiful picture or words on all that black space. It’s calling for bright colors. It looks amazing. Love your furniture choices.
I'm totally amaze what you've been done so far. You always remember the basic needs like plants and lights for your makeover and I think, It make cozy result 💙 Keep going Kristen and I can't wait the next makeover
So many great ideas! I plan to use the concrete idea on our old chipped tile dining table. And the lights, the paver idea to keep our cantilever umbrella in place, etc.
It's really nice! well done! I would like to see how it looks like after a year :) Hope she takes good care of it and I hope guests will actually get to enjoy nice refreshing lemonade from the big glass jars!
Hello Kristen I very rarely ever comment on a video but this is absolutely spectacular. I love all of your videos. I am always in shock at how much work you do all by yourself you are such an inspiration.
This gave me so many great ideas for our backyard space. We're on a budget so new furniture is out of the question, but I love to thrift, so I'm going to seek out things I can recycle or upcycle. I love all your lanterns, and the black and white theme. I'm definitely going to make a foliage wall with some faux greenery and flowers. Brilliant idea!
I really love what you've done with the space! Faux plants though... It makes it looks a little cheap. I don't like plastic plants. Everything else looks so amazing!
I loved it!!!! Especially at the night it looked magical like a place from a fairytale! ✨✨ so proud of you Kristen i was smiling the whole time, you’re amazing and inspiring ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Kristen! You did it again! Such a stylish and gorgeous outdoor oasis! A beautiful escape. So many nice touches! PS be happy to take your clients old o. D. furniture off her hands!
Amazing work! Not sure what type of wood is being used but I highly recommend getting it sealed. It Canada with all the weather changes it can increase the longevity of your lovely work. 😊 Bravo !
Wow, you outdid yourself! I want you to redo our balcony in our apartment! I also use fake flowers , no one ever notices there not real! Great job Kristen!
Wow what a great job. I used artificial flowers on my patio & everyone complimented on how beautiful my flowers were. Here in Southern California we are on restricted water use. I love all your fantastic ideas. Thanks for sharing with us.
your sister must LOVE you soooooo much lol oh and thanks to you I downloaded pinterest and now I'm obssesssed with it!! You can literally find ANYTHING on it and it gives you so much inspiration!! Once again you changed my way of seeing things
I love how it turned out- kinda wish more makeovers were done on a budget since I'm never gonna get alot of stuff just' gifted' to me but glad her sister ended up with such a nice outdoor space.
Absolute perfection. From the design, to the execution of your plan, to the decor, to the music in the video, I just cannot say enough about this! STUNNING ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yes, I had the same thought at the beginning, it needed a power wash. I also thought the fence needed painting. Maybe a nice light grey transparent stain with black trim. However, it turned out beautiful in the end. Nice job Kristen.
not in TO, canada. Out west in BC, particularly Vancouver Island, the hibiscus gets that big, but not in Ontario with 6 months of cold. They don’t even over winter. Beautiful job, as always!
But the table isn't high enough for bar stool height chairs, is it? I wonder how tall it is? The chairs are regular chair height, aren't they? That's weird if the table is a normal table height. I would have liked to see someone sitting at the table.
I am blown away by the umbrella! Love it! You did a wonderful job! I do think that ferns were a great idea because I believe they are a shaded plant... but the colors are very beautiful in that planter behind the dining area. My favorite part is probably the little coffee corner... I do wish there would be something for the kid to play at outside? But I also can’t think of anything that would support the whole oasis concept... hmmmm
Kristen every time I watch one of your videos I am overwhelmed at how much work you do all on your own. You are amazing. I have seen this backyard video several times because I love it so much and I’m sure your sister was just over the moon. Great job and keep bringing us wonderful contact.❤
Great furniture pieces. Love the black, white and cream color scheme. I have never heard about Article furniture before. Both areas compliment each other.
Every makeover video I have watched, except for Alexandra Gater's, combines white, grey and black with some plants and string lights thrown in. Just saying lol. Are all of you afraid of color?
@@zoeb.72 Glad to hear I am not the only one. Design is more than white, grey and black. Use some color and imagination people and don't be afraid. As they say, ?it's only paint.? I do like the more muted colors and would never paint a room red.
I also prefer black/white/brown furniture but I do add colourful accessories. Those are easy to replace, the big pieces are too expensive to replace every time you want a different look.

Did you get the fire pit working?
I was waiting for this video! I love your transformations! hugs from Oakville!
Can you please give us the link for the umbrella?
It's funny when you have so much confidence in the person to like a video before you even start watching.
omg you are the best thank you!
I was happy for the notification too.
I was checking everyday since she said she was doing a backyard makeover...whew!
Because she’s amazing and she is so good!
@@thegraybarnsoapsandcandles4721 she is isn't she.
It's not often that you see a man with a genuine reaction of being blown away. Love that he loved it too!
I loved it all.... the idea of mixing faux greenery with real flowers was so smart..... the 10' umbrella sold me on getting one for our patio..... all of the furniture was stunning... all in all I couldn't choose just one part.... I LOVE IT ALL !
Favorite part? Definitely the opening of the umbrella 😍😍😍😍
I’m with the hubby…I’m BLOWN AWAY!! Stunning!!! Love EVERY SINGLE THING!!! I didn’t even know an outdoor umbrella that big existed. Lol
I love watching these reno’s but it would be nice to know the breakdown of the final costs with supplies, materials, etc. Nice job!
This one is probably close to $14 million with all of the Article furniture 😂
jojessica for real, this is so unrealistic... this redo was *goofy* expensive
Agree... not everyone gets all furniture from article 😩 very unfortunately
I agree with you completely
Totally agree!!!
Beautiful job.. It would've really been stellar if the deck and wooden fence had been restained.
Those night shots with the lighting are sssssstunning!!!
The fireplace table redo is the best!!! Reuse recycle and beautiful things happen!
Loved it! I like how you’ve shown us what it like day and night time. I think that was my favourite thing about it was seeing it for the end result.
I love that part too❤️
That black and white umbrella is my favorite. It really opens up the space and did it’s purpose to have some privacy. You did a good job for a short period of time.
It looks awesome! I would have loved to see a stain on the deck and fence to bring the wood back to life! Great job Tho xoxo xoxo

I like everything in this backyard patio transformation... But honestly that old table is my favorite one...

Love all your makeovers! Especially liked your B-I-L saying "you always blow me away".
Seeing your family’s loving reaction to your hard work is so endearing. This was one more TERRIFIC makeover! Great job. Your taste is impeccable, Kristen.
Our Vegas winds would so easily take that umbrella out with those two pavers. 😅
Another beautiful design!
Beautiful. I love that you integrate false flowers and greenery with the real ones.
Omg girl ! It looks absolutely gorgeous & soooo relaxing !! I can't get over that trick with the fake flowers , brilliant ! Love all the furniture ! You are sooo talented & have great decor skills !!!
The lights was my fav! And that black and white rug in the "living room" area!
19 minutes of pure joy 😍😍😍😍😍😍. I love how you explain every detail 🤗🤗
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
The colour combination is amazing black tan and green are in a luxurious harmony with a lovely Moroccan style rug . You have a great taste girl ❤️❤️Good learner
Great transformation Kristen. Tell them to paint the fence as well. It is time to do it. It needs love. (😁😁
Staining the fence would look good too!

As soon as I saw it was a backyard makeover I thought it would be with Article. Such beautiful furniture 😍
My favorite part is the light and the effect in the night
This really inspired me to try and do a little makeover in my little backyard 😍
The plants, lights and lanterns. Amazing.

THAT DINING TABLE ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Beautiful
I'm coming comimg to see your creativity.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
yay!!!
Wow! Absolutely beautiful! It's extending the house with two extra rooms! Another great job!!
Loved this! Note to self: test the fire pit before fixing and repainting lmao
Soooooooo beautyful !!!!!! Great job!!! Loves from Belgium !!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Love this make over. We're you ever able to get the fire pit to work?
not yet.... but we’re bringing someone in to check it out! I really hope it works!!😭🤞🏼

wow thank you so much Denise!!
I wished she did some power washing before styling and decorating the place.
I tried😭 I brought my power washer and everything but the hose wouldn’t reach the backyard!
@@KristenMcGowan oh, sorry to hear that love. It's still a great makeover. The dirt just bothered me a bit.
Any update on the fire table?
Yes, I had the same thought at the beginning, it needed a power wash. I also thought the fence needed painting. Maybe a nice light grey transparent stain with black trim. However, it turned out beautiful in the end. Nice job Kristen.

Thank you so much! Great to hear from an architect!
That turned out amazing🥰 did you get the firetable to work at the end?
This transformation is my favourite till now!!!!!
It looks absolutely gorgeous! 👏🏻🖤 🤍
I hope they were able to get the fire table working. All your hard work on it. It turned out so chic and gorgeous!
Haha you wouldn’t want to plant those hibiscus in the planter anyway, they will grow up to 5-6 feet high and wide.
Oh wow!! Lol!
Right I have hibiscus they huge in my garden bed at front of the house but has pretty pink and purple flowers.
Yeah they turn into tall trees I have then on they side of my house and they totally spread all along side my garage.
not in TO, canada. Out west in BC, particularly Vancouver Island, the hibiscus gets that big, but not in Ontario with 6 months of cold. They don’t even over winter. Beautiful job, as always!
Sophie Hawkins hardy hibiscus tolerates temperatures to 30 below zero F / 35 below zero C

i miss them so much!
It's so pretty!! I would never want to leave! Article furniture is so stylish looking! I can't wait to be able to get some!!
Soooo stylish!! Use my discount link if you need anything!!❤️
The difference in heights of the dining table and its chairs is giving me anxiety. My back hurts just seeing that
Same I liked the table but not with chairs in terms of height
Yeah the table is way too high
So glad it wasn’t just me with the table height 😖

Same. That table was way too high. I thought she’d cut a couple of inches off the legs.
Hiii😊
I loved it so much!!! Looks beautiful. Love the Article furniture. My favourite thing was the artificial flowers 💐 just because how awesome it looks.
