A suggestion for you, to avoid having to trim the uneven lengths on the tassels - tape a length of the yarn along the top side of the frame before you start wrapping. That way, you can tie it off evenly at the top centre and have the same length ends. Hope that makes sense 😁 Love your creative ideas (and, as a partially deaf person, how clearly you speak and how well you enunciate 😚)

also after tying the knots needed, you can trim the yarn like he does, or you can leave the excess yarn longer and take a yarn needle and pull the yarn into the tassel and that can make it easier to hide your knots!
and for smaller tassels you could even use the frame lengthwise and tie it on both sides, then cut in the middle. it would move around a little bit while cutting, but I'm sure it's doable.
I’m 65. My mother had sister and I making pom poms, tassels and weaving tie strings from wool for the things she knitted for us. You use 4 nails hammers into a wooden thread spool. Caps, sweaters etc. I was so young when she taught us all this I hardly remember the age I was 5? I was on her treadle sewing machine by 5 too! I’m so glad all you young people are making these video to show everyone how to do all this! ver signed up. I even offer first 16 hours free. I threw out our old throw pillows from living room when we moved. Dont ask. My partner I met 7 years ago had them like 30 years. Hard to find materials to make pillows but this is such a great idea. I need new dining seat covers too. Never thought to use the natural weave throw rugs or similar. Always great inspiration from your videos.

Tips for the tassel making: your frame has Ana opening in the middle so you could tie the yarn somewhere in the middle and cut it just on the opposite side.. that was too much work with the xacto knife. And to make the tassels more secure on the blanket instead of cutting the yarn you could put the ends back in the tassels with the help of your needle 🥰

When tying your pompoms use a surgeons knot. A quick twist to a square knot that will stop it from loosening before your second tie. (A tip from one crafter to another 😉)

I have never seen your channel until this morning at 1am. Your very nice looking and I loooooove your hacks. I am always reinventing trash to treasure or altering new items, but, I very rarely buy anything new other than clothes and craft supplies. I have a one large bedroom that is my sleeping zone/sewing craft zone. I had a condo for 20 years known for its largest one bedroom complex in all if Northern Va. Huge condo with 2 large walk in closets, balcony was the length of the moving room thru the dining room, floor to ceiling 6 panes of glass. In my sewing area I had 10 crates from Michael's that I put in a cool formation to house my fat quarters, seeing notions, craft books, decorating magazines. I have never seen crates made into a table eith the hair pin legs until now. I screen swiped your idea. It's beautiful. I love your chunky tassels they are do cool. I have a craft idea to make eith tassels but I just have not found the time. I am interested in if you own your own home and where do you live and what is your career? When making tassels or fringe, I wrap yarn around a dvd case. The little indentation along the open side allows you to get the point of small scissors in.
Ikea and art crafts product is not cheap in southeast Asia, but after watching what you did, my creativity grew again. I will slowly collecting the tools and hopefully, I will make some of the design too.
I use a hard cover book to make tassels so there are kind of built-in ridges on each end to slide in the yarn to tie the tops and room to slide scissors in to cut them loose.
Awesome hacks! My fave is the pillow. Thinking I'll spray it with water repellent after, to help it be stain resistant and last even longer, because there is no scenario in which I can see myself sewing in a zipper, either.

So cool! If you tie the tassel in the blank part of the frame then you can cut, using scissors, the other side of the blank frame, if that makes sense. No exactly knife needed! It’ll save you time

I’ve watched this video Sooo. Many times!! I’m on my 2nd DIY project from this video! 1st. The ikea crate table 2nd. Fringed DIY knots blanket but I’m making fringed bead/twine boho inspired decore. && Im planning to do more! The blanket, the shelf, &&&& some sort of pillow case.
The two crate table was my favorite I think I’m going to try and use that idea as a base for a small kitchen island that I can pullout for extra space when I need it. Thank you.
I just wanted to tell you- If you use a bristle area brush (like a cheap small one) and use black paint like you have over the stencils and just stamp it in like you were doing with the sponge brush, it will not bleed and work really well! I make mats all the time and it’s so easy and neater than using spray paint. Also I just ordered letter stencils from amazon instead of printing the paper and cutting the stencil out yourself.
Your ideas are great! Here's a few tips for your tassels... 1. After finishing wrapping the yarn around the frame why not secure it (with the yarn) in the middle of the aperture, and then cut with scissors on the opposite side? It'll not only make it easier to cut, but you'll waste less yarn. 2. After you've made the ball end of the tassel, thread a needle with the remaining yarn, knot it, then pass it through the ball down towards the tail and trim it even with the tassel tail. This will avoid showing any visible knots and yarn ends around the wrapped ball end. 3. Once you've made the tassels wrap paper all around the tail end then trim the tails inline with the paper edge. This will result in all the tail ends being even, and it'll give you a much neater finish to the completed tail. 4. After securing each tassel to the throw rethread the needle with the remaining yarn, then pass it through the ball down towards the tails and trim it even with the tassel ends. This again will avoid making the ends of any knots visible.

When making tassels or fringe, I wrap yarn around a dvd case. The little indentation along the open side allows you to get the point of small scissors in.

Ikea and art crafts product is not cheap in southeast Asia, but after watching what you did, my creativity grew again. I will slowly collecting the tools and hopefully, I will make some of the design too.

Using a frame to make the tassels was a great idea.
I use a hard cover book to make tassels so there are kind of built-in ridges on each end to slide in the yarn to tie the tops and room to slide scissors in to cut them loose.

Awesome hacks! My fave is the pillow. Thinking I'll spray it with water repellent after, to help it be stain resistant and last even longer, because there is no scenario in which I can see myself sewing in a zipper, either.

So cool! If you tie the tassel in the blank part of the frame then you can cut, using scissors, the other side of the blank frame, if that makes sense. No exactly knife needed! It’ll save you time

The two crate table was my favorite I think I’m going to try and use that idea as a base for a small kitchen island that I can pullout for extra space when I need it. Thank you.
I just wanted to tell you- If you use a bristle area brush (like a cheap small one) and use black paint like you have over the stencils and just stamp it in like you were doing with the sponge brush, it will not bleed and work really well! I make mats all the time and it’s so easy and neater than using spray paint. Also I just ordered letter stencils from amazon instead of printing the paper and cutting the stencil out yourself.

Your ideas are great!
Here's a few tips for your tassels...
1. After finishing wrapping the yarn around the frame why not secure it (with the yarn) in the middle of the aperture, and then cut with scissors on the opposite side? It'll not only make it easier to cut, but you'll waste less yarn.
2. After you've made the ball end of the tassel, thread a needle with the remaining yarn, knot it, then pass it through the ball down towards the tail and trim it even with the tassel tail. This will avoid showing any visible knots and yarn ends around the wrapped ball end.
3. Once you've made the tassels wrap paper all around the tail end then trim the tails inline with the paper edge. This will result in all the tail ends being even, and it'll give you a much neater finish to the completed tail.
4. After securing each tassel to the throw rethread the needle with the remaining yarn, then pass it through the ball down towards the tails and trim it even with the tassel ends. This again will avoid making the ends of any knots visible.
