You know it! Whenever we both have time off, we can now kayak fish together!

Very interesting, had no idea there was something like a plastic welder. Good to know and some great info.

Yeah, it's definitely a good investment for anyone who does serious kayak fishing, as with kayaks, it's no so much as if, but when they'll develop a leak!

Looks like you got it to work, hey that's what matters. That crack under the seat was crazay, dont think I've seen one like that but the one near the mirage drive port is apparently somewhat common, I guess from the forces of the mirage drive. Looks like you made the right move to try and fix it and now have a backup kayak instead of losing money to have it recycled, nice going man👍

Yeah, for whatever reason this thing just started cracking like crazy... I'm hoping my 2020 won't have as many issues. Have you had any cracking issues with either of your Hobies?

@@FishinAccomplished I have not, I got some deep cuts in my old one but no cracks, and thankfully no leaks…your seat crack almost looked like a temperature crack but idk

Hey Dan. Great video. Kind of off topic but with colder water approaching, when do you start wearing a survival suit and what do you recommend. Thanks in advance. Love the deck.

Thanks! Yeah, I generally start wearing the drysuit when the water temp/air tempt adds to anything lower than 120 consistently... which usually starts late October/November. I had a Stolqhuist, which fairly good, with the exception of some zipper issues. I just ordered a new one that should be arriving in November. I can't really recommend it, as I haven't tested it out yet. I suppose I'll give that verdict a few months from now!

HDPE plastic. Found preheating the kayak with a heat gun then using the hobie iron works best

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind! It's likely that I'll have to work on this kayak again in the future, so I'll take any tips I can get!

You didn't mention how old your Outback is, I have a 2018 and so far it seems to be holding up well. I used to ride my bike to that jetty and fish there as a kid, 1963-ish. I caught my first blackfish there. You might try around the base of the bridge supports. I remember getting blackfish there in the 70's but don't know what you will find now. Good luck.

Camera view is to far away to actually tell how it looks.
