when i record my phone, while its recording it wont play the game audio out of the phone.. but it does record it, i plug in my head phones to my laptop and can here the game sounds being played off of the elgato program

I litteraly show you in the video how to set it up, but I can say when you download the elgsto program for the elgato in thw settings of that you want to set it to iphone and it should work if you do everything like I did

In my video Im using a galxy s8+ android phone so yes, if you use an iPhone you can just set it up normally with out a splitter because elgato lets you do it with iphones or ipada normally
No worries and I hope this works for you, some people have had problems with certain android phones not letting them do it, I do know the galaxy s8 works with this method

will this elgato hd 60s work on samsung s9+ ? previously i used s7 edge + samsung side sync to mirror my screen to OBS and streamed it, but sadly s9+ is not supported by samsung side sync and i found no app to mirror my screen,i think i should buy elgato.

I've tried everything in the video, i even bought the same exact HDMI spliter (even though i got it more expensive than others) and i still can't capture video from my Galaxy S9+ (unrooted), i have elgato HD60 S and i use streamlabs OBS to stream to Facebook Gaming, sometimes i get HDCP warning in elgato software and sometimes i just can't get any video signal or i get low FPS warning (but still no video). Any thoughts than can help me getting this right?

Well this is 5 years down the road but do you need the splitter in order to capture audio from your device as I got video going to my elgato just no game audio and trying to search to get audio captured I came across your video
The samsung has inbuilt screen recorder that do record the system/internal sound and filters the external surrounding sound,Just go to game tools and click record and it does fine.I My brother use to record most of his mobile gameplays using gametools. But.... why would anyone dislike the video? o.O
Might work, but you can record it while docked aswell, I dont use the dock myself but if your just using it to play and record ypur gameplay it should be ok

@Vairin Frame rate and quality is garbage compared to wired connection. I even bought the premium version, sitll pretty bad.

SaltyDalty if you use any thing other than the Switch’s official docking hardware, you run the risk of bricking your Switch.
Kidd did that exact thing with a Nyko dock.
