Hey! If you have a second, I was wondering if the instant gameview latency was the same on both the hd60s and hd60s+? I realize that streaming isn't low lag with the hd60s, but I mean strictly in the instant gameview with no recording. Is there any real difference between the latency across the 2 devices in that scenario? Thanks so much for any help you can give me!
Finally!!!! I’ve been streaming for almost a year now and I have been fighting the game audio going out of sync the longer I stream and it’s been terrible. Thank you so much for this video I am beyond happy I found this. Again thank you so much.
I've been in search of a solution to the problem I'm having capturing audio from a game I'm running on my iPhone XR. I'm using the Elgato HD60 S+ and my streaming software is OBS Studio. Regardless of which streaming application I use, the problem is the same. According to information I saw in this and other of your videos, I changed the Audio Input setting in the Elgato 4K Capture Utility's preferences dialog from "HDMI Audio" to "Analog Audio". I'm still not hearing game audio, nor is anything registering in OBS Studio's Audio Mixer window. Regardless, you have come the closest to providing a solution. I'm guessing there's still something in OBS Studio that I need to tweak. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
@@Theeinsom Yes I did! I managed to get in touch with customer support at Elgato, and we discovered that the capture device was not enabled in Windows settings.
I'm a bit confused. You say the audio and video is synced and "lag free", but do you still get the 1-2 second video lag as you have on the HD 60s with the plus? Meaning, do you have to have a separate gameplay monitor, or is the image on OBS instant without controller delay on the plus? Thanks!

I also can’t hear my gaming audio in my headphones. I have my scarlet preamp hooked up but for some reason it’s not syncing the audio. The audience can hear it but I can’t. Please help.
Yup, my HD60 S hasn't been that great, partially because of those proprietary drivers. I've been putting up with it for 3 years now, but I think Elgato has given up on supporting the device since the S+ is out now. Oh well. Guess it's time for a UVC device.

MidnightMan I actually found that I was having audio sync issues. The solution is turning off “flashback recording” that fixed the recording audio sync issues. I have a question about the Elgato HD60 S+. Does the Elgato HD60 S+ comes in remastered 4K Resolution, High Definition, and High Quality on any retro game consoles: Sega Genesis, Sega Dreamcast, original Xbox, Xbox 360, the first PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and more?
Info correction: USB-c can be USB2/3. USB-c is simply the connector while the cable can be any of USB: 1/2/3. If your USB-C is saying slow xharge, you have USB1 or 2 cables and need to check the product info. If no listed, look elsewhere. Also, capture works fine over USB2, as well.

Great vid. Quick question. Does the El Gato software support green screen with the 60 S?? Or will I still have to use SLOBS or OBS? I am still using the El Gato Game Capture HD, and there isn't even support for a webcam in the software with the Gamecap HD LOL. Upgrading everything very soon.. And green screen streaming/vids is a must.
Which console? I have quite a few videos on the setup, feel free to browse my recording setup playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLPKmUNEk9zA935x5CZNdDwCvDZLb0LPme
This was extremely helpful... Thank youu!!! I've been making Animal Crossing videos for about 2 months now and I'm using the Ezcap 261 capture card. I'm trying to save up right now to get an Elgato capture card because the one I'm currently using is really laggy even after I changed the fps... The coloring is off... And the sound is a key off. This video was extremely helpful to see which one would be better in my interest!! TYSM🥺💞✨
So I have the HD60 S+ and I also have the Xbox Series S and noticed that the new xbox has no audio optical port built in like the older consoles did, because i use a studio mic with the GOXLR, so did my research and found out i needed a Audio extractor to use the optical chord which i bought, and for the first few days on obs was fine but now im getting a 6 second delay with game latency. So I restart OBS, Deactivate the el gato 60 S+ and then re activate it. Works for about 20 mins and then slowly starts un syncing with the latency. Please help!
I just got the HD60 for the sake of recording gameplay only and not streaming, but might have to use OBS for audio reasons. Should I still make the switch to the 60s+ or what?
For anyone complaining about delay... STOP playing games through the capture window!!! do the passthrough on a tv. I dont recommend doing this even with the 0 lag solutions, always always do passthrough and let the lag happen or not happen in the middle.
Could you explain the Microsoft reboot portion a little more? I have the HD60s and now realize the audio problems. How do I go about getting OBS on a Microsoft platform? Does it cost money and should I just trade it in for a HD60s+?
I don’t plan on streaming, only recording gameplay off the PS3 and PS4 with my audio over it. For the lag youre talking about, is it only when streaming or for recording too? Also, if I plan on recording for the PS5 when that comes out will the HD60S still be good enough? Seems like everyone has these fancy computers and set ups and want to use it for streaming mostly, so I’m not sure what to get still for my situation. I’d be using my 2016 Mac book pro as well. What do you think ?

glad i watched this before ordering the hd60s. now i just need the + to come back in stock. thanks a ton!
its in stock rn on amazon
In the Elgato software green screens are supported using a webcam, you can also do it in OBS or SLOBS too
@@MidnightMan Nice.. Thanks for the reply homie..
Awsome video thank you, do you by chance have a video on how to set it up?
TYSM🥺💞✨
My Mac and s+ are not showing on the software app , help please do I need something else
I would upgrade. The HD60 is two generations behind
For anyone complaining about delay... STOP playing games through the capture window!!! do the passthrough on a tv. I dont recommend doing this even with the 0 lag solutions, always always do passthrough and let the lag happen or not happen in the middle.
Thank you so much man, had no idea that the HD60S just doesn't like working with Mac, thought it was me who was doing something wrong.
Could you explain the Microsoft reboot portion a little more? I have the HD60s and now realize the audio problems. How do I go about getting OBS on a Microsoft platform? Does it cost money and should I just trade it in for a HD60s+?
No it does not cost anything. The program you use is Bootcamp.
@midnightman
You should be ok, but if your just doing recordings stick with elgato software, OBS will delay your audio
MidnightMan what about an HD60 instead of HD60S ?
thank u this help us a lot.
Does the HD60 S work with zoom? The one I'm using isn't being recognized, it shows up on the game capture HD but not on Zoom
great video bro, you saved my clueless mind
It sucks because I bought a MacBook Pro M1 and only the HD60S+ is compatible with the new apple silicons.
Macs don’t have it easy with this kind of stuff
